Lots of nursing and medical professionals can object to perform a service based on their personal convictions, but usually their regulatory colleges state that the practitioner is then responsible for referring that patient to another practitioner that will provide the service they object to. Abortion, prescribing oral contraceptives and medical assistance in dying are a few of the common things where this occurs. 1	Female psychiatrist loses license after having affair with patient, Several Canadain media outlets portrays her as the victim. As a healthcare worker the rules are clear. No self regulated health profession in the province of Ontario is allowed to have a sexual relationship with a patient. The power dynamic is clear, the healthcare provider is always in a position of power. Nurses do not have the opportunity to reapply for reinstatement of their profession status whenever they are found guilty of any sexual offence.
