i feel like we have two differing definitions of the system. to me, the "system" is the combination of government, culture, and institutions that set the frame for how a country functions. the system in america has upheld racism against black people since its conception therefore it is disingenuous to talk about one without the other.

Honestly, you two really do seem to have a great relationship that most don't find. I personally think you'd get lonely eventually if you left her, since as you said you don't really have any other friends. It's also important to think of it from her perspective. She loves you, you depend on each other, and she really has no social connections outside of you. My advice for that is to disregard how relationships are portrayed in media and stuff like that. Always treat the other person as a complete equal, and things will turn out better. Look for someone who supports who wholeheartedly, and do the same for them. Celebrate each other's victories. Work together against any problems you may have, but don't work against each other. Just gonna add that divorce is actually usually a sign of a society developing into a more equal stage. It happened in America around the 70s-ish, since people were finally allowed to just divorce because they wanted to, instead of needing some crime on one party's part for it to happen. This breaks up unhealthy and abusive marriages much more easily. Idk just think it's interesting

Y'all in these comments do realize that equal rights in regards to women in India is still a huge thing. Their historical social caste system still has major impacts on each person, which is why there's such a disparity in wealth in that country and why so many children work there. It even more so affects what women are legally or socially allowed to do there. Don't judge their feminism like American feminism when they actually do have rights to fight for.
