I started listening to this episode with an open mind, probably more than others. I am the closest to a true centrist as you're going to find in the US. People classify me as liberal or conservative based on their own beliefs. Liberals think I'm conservative, conservatives think I'm liberal. So I went into this thinking that depending on the conservative they chose, their viewpoint could be very refreshing and say a lot of what I've been thinking. For those who stopped listening at the beginning…

I was given the option of becoming a SAHM several times and refused to do it. I kept all my same responsibilities at work and got promoted twice within 3 years of my last child being born. Making my career a priority paid off. I could easily afford to leave when I finally made the decision to get a divorce. I did all the finances and knew exactly what we had in assets. I kept track of every penny earned and spent so there was no way for him to hide anything (which allowed me to prove that he'd s…

The only men who think this way are hard-core misogynists who don't actually like women. They don't want a partner. They want a woman they can manipulate and, even better, use financial abuse to keep them from leaving when they let the mask totally slip.

I've already decided I will never use hormonal birth control again, I have no interest in an IUD and I will only have sex with a condom. I took hormonal bc for years. I'm done putting my health at risk, ruining my libido, and living on a never ending diet to keep my weight in check for the sake of a man's dick.

He's so busy trying to rewrite the past by spitting on grave of his dead wife that he didn't mind spitting in the face of his daughter while he was at it. Then had the audacity to get mad about her refusing to listen to it and pretend to be happy for him. I can't believe she gave him a second chance to begin with. But she should go no contact with every single person who tried to gaslight her into questioning her own behavior when she did absolutely nothing wrong.

I've never been slapped by a man. I would leave immediately if a man did that to me. The man likely planned to do it, chose not to ask permission and clearly gets sexual enjoyment from violence against women. That is a broken and toxic human being who does not love the person being slapped. Why would you continue a relationship with someone like that?

Perverts intentionally push boundaries and then act naive and innocent when called out for it. The fact that he was blocked speaks volumes. I guarantee there are details missing that he doesn't think are relevant or he's intentionally leaving those details out. I never bother engaging with people like this online. He's disingenuous and will never admit to a detail that will cast him in a bad light.

Texas ladies need to stay away from men until this is overturned. Stay home and stay safe. And all woman worldwide need to overwhelm the reporting hotlines/websites with fake reports. If the worst should happen and you're lucky enough to have the funds to leave the state for an abortion, do so but don't say a word to anyone.

I personally find many women more attractive when they're older. For example, look at Gillian Anderson in The X Files the original vs the new episodes from a few years ago. She has always been beautiful but she is a total knockout now in her early 50s. Christina Applegate is the same way.

Good for you OP. If you're married you will likely still have some stressful moments ahead of you until the divorce is finalized. But trust me when I say it will all be worth it. I have never regretted my decision, only that I didn't leave sooner. Make sure to take plenty of time for yourself to learn who you are, what makes you happy and what you really want out of life before you think about dating.

He is fantasizing about cheating on her with her own friend. That means he would gladly take the offer if it ever happened or will try to instigate a sexual relationship with her friend when he gets audacious enough. That's assuming he hasn't already cheated on her with said friend. He also may have already approached the friend but the friend shut him down. Many times women don't say anything to their friends in these situations because they're afraid the friend will defend their SO, throwing t…

Short men should give other short men a chance. What? You don't find men sexually attractive? Well I don't find short men sexually attractive either. Or is it only men who get eliminate partners due to attractiveness? When it comes to partner selection, I don't take suggestions or comments from the audience. 😂).

I'm not super strict about people on my FB. If you're a friendly, cool person with interesting posts I keep you. If you post something I strongly disagree with for moral or ethical reasons, you're unfriended. I unfriended about 30% of my FB friends in the past 18 months. I don't accept friend requests from total strangers.

As a mother, I have learned that the judgement doesn't go away when you have kids. Because the issue isn't if you want or have kids. The issue is that women are subjected to constant scrutiny and judgement by society. If you don't have children, you will be judged. If you have children, you will be judged. If you're single, divorced, not married, don't wear makeup, wear too much makeup, dress frumpy, dress too nicely, you will be judged. The best response to this kind of question/pressure is "no…

After reading this I finally submitted a volunteer application to a local non profit. I participate in sports and I'm outside daily. But my sport is very female-centric. I don't like most sports that men do. I don't intend to participate in something I don't actually like. I'm actually more interested in meeting other HVW as friends and general networking with like minded people. I'm also planning to take a couple specific cooking classes that would be in person for similar reasons.

Men cite this statistic to imply that women are the ones who don't care, don't try or in some way have done something wrong. In their minds the one who initiates is the one who caused it and is therefore at fault. This is clearly a simplistic and absolutism way of looking at the issue. Viewing the issue of divorce in these terms absolves them of any responsibility or personal contribution to the problem. If it were up to them they would have stayed married forever, no matter how miserable they a…

Men think of other men collectively as good because men respect other men and therefore respect the male perspective. If a man has a bad experience with an ex, the men in his life will take him at his word. If a man treats an ex poorly in a way that can't be glossed over, men will line up to defend him because everything is viewed through a prism of the male experience, rather than a human experience. Case in point, read the comment section for the guy who dropped off 80,000 pennies for child su…

Regarding potentially dateable Dad #1, be aware that some states don't offer 50/50 custody. But in several states 50/50 is the default unless there's a very specific reason not to give 50/50. In other words, many times Dad #1 is not distinguishable from your potential danger #1. And sometimes 50/50 dad didn't have to do anything crazy to get 50/50, he just showed up and didn't have a cut and dry case of abuse towards his children. If you really get involved with a single dad, it would be wise to…

I remember back when the books were blowing up I considered buying the first one to see what it was all about. I read a brief synopsis and thought it sounded like straight up abuse. Essentially the only reasons the relationship in the book is spun as desirable is because the man is rich and attractive. If he were poor and ugly, people would see it for what it is, abuse. It's abusive regardless of the attractiveness or social standing of the participants. But I think it's even worse because the m…

I've seen similar posts and I just refrain from responding. I want to point out the obvious dangers but they don't want to hear the truth. I think deep down they know what they're is dangerous and risky. But attacking the messenger allows them to stay in denial. These women are risking getting STDs, unwanted pregnancy, sexual assault and being filmed for sharing online without their knowledge or consent. She's second guessing herself because society has groomed her to believe that she is a failure if she leaves. And that her value as a woman is tied to being with a man. None of that is true. The whole idea that a couple should stay together for the sake of their kids needs to be wholly and soundly rejected. Having parents stay together is only beneficial when the relationship between them and within the household is healthy and loving. The relationship described by this woman is neither of those…

When I man treats you this way 6 months into marriage, he never liked you, much less loved you. He tolerates you for a free maid/cook. "Working things out" in this situation means resigning herself to a lifetime of misery with a man who doesn't like her or getting a divorce. She's in denial at this point if she thinks there's another alternative. The cooking part is pretty heinous but the gaslighting over her catching him trying to cheat on her? Loved this episode and Dr. Gaines. She is such an eloquent speaker. While I've certainly been aware that things have gotten worse in our culture, I think my age group (older millennial) was spared the worst of it during our formative years. The engagement ring is 100% yours morally and legally. You should never feel obligated or guilted in to giving it back in the event of a divorce. If you absolutely don't want it, sell it. If you have kids, use it to fund a 529 plan. Or buy stock. Or buy a piece of art. Better yet, donate the item or the funds to worthy cause. If your ex was abusive, donate it to a domestic violence shelter.

LOL as if this cheater is done cheating or that he'd be spending any appreciable time with a child that's the product of adultery. The few weekends the kid might be around you'll be playing babysitter while he's out finding his next mark. A man doesn't get someone pregnant after one transgression during a moment of weakness. I wonder how the men defending this would feel if they saw a gay man or transgendered person taking their picture under the same circumstances. I do photography as a hobby. I feel like taking pictures of strangers without their consent is an invasion of privacy. Those people have a right to be upset if you don't obtain their permission. But don't rely on Amazon reviews. Many of them are fake and others are from people who were given incentive to write a 5 star review by the seller. Sharing experiences like yours is so important for FDS. The idea that a man could fetishise something so terrible and traumatic that happened to someone they supposedly care about is eye opening. I just cannot fathom being that depraved and devoid of empathy. But now I know. It's scary to think of what else I don't know. So many women stay in bad relationships because they're afraid to be confronted with the losses they've been taking along the way. It's a sunk cost fallacy. I fell prey to it myself. It's like gambling. You've lost what you started with but you keep betting because surely it will pay off eventually! My ex's first reaction to me telling him I intended to file for divorce was to accuse me of adultery. With absolutely no reason, logic or evidence to support it besides the fact that he thought I'd never divorce him. He just couldn't fathom that *he* had finally done something bad enough that I had had enough. I do think there are times they don't realize how badly they've treated you. That's because many men: have so little empathy for women as thinking, feeling beings so that they have no concept of the mental anguish they've caused you. It is constantly driven home by most cultures that women should not age, period. She "hits the wall" because she doesn't look 20. The implication is that a woman who no longer needs to be carded for alcohol is no longer beautiful. Men, on the other hand, are allowed to look like time is actually passing. Don't do it. If I could I'd have my kids get my maiden name as well. It's not possible at this point, which is crazy. It's the perfect example of what marriage was intended to be: conveying ownership. Women are born with all the egg cells they'll ever have. The egg that made you was at one point inside your maternal grandmother. And only female mitochondrial DNA survives generation to generation. The paternal grandfather means fuck all but yet his last name should be passed down? Fuck that.

This mother would be so much happier being divorced. She'd have more time to herself and the father would be forced to actually pay for stuff via child support. This has been my own experience and 100% worth it. Divorce is painful while you're actively separating but it's all uphill from there. There is more at stake here than even just her own happiness. Choosing to update or not update title paperwork during a refinance does not change my state's family law code. The only impact is on the paperwork that has to be done once you have your decree. The only time you get into a murky situation is if an asset was acquired using funds obtained partially by inheritance. And you're definitely SOL if the property …

Refinancing a loan does not change legal ownership. All it does is change who is responsible for payment. If the house is purchased during marriage it is a community asset. Even if your name is never on the deed or loan, you are still entitled to a portion of it (subject to the laws of your specific state, but generally 50%). My ex did this. Without going into specifics, it actually ended up being extremely beneficial to me both during and after divorce. I think he thought he was being very clev…

My ex and I had joint accounts and used money as community money. I had a credit card that gave me a ton of points at restaurants/fast food. To maximize this benefit I always paid for dining on my card if I was present. It drove my ex nuts that it looked like I paid for everything. Even though it made no difference who was paying because the credit card payments all came from the same checking account no matter which card was being paid. They're always more worried about what they look like to o…

99% of men who use gyms fall into one or more categories: Creep and spy on women Sweat all over the machines/benches and never clean them Never re-rack their weights, leaving them for everyone else to either trip over or remove before you can use the bench Very few men treat the people and the equipment at the gym with respect. In other words, they act the same way at the gym as they do at home. Probably another way to vet a man while dating. 🤣 Does he clean up after himself? Does he stare at ot…

Some people like to surround themselves with pillows when they sleep for a nest-like feeling. But those "nests" are on a god damn bed and should have clean linens. And those people don't normally expect their SO to also sleep surrounded by pillows. Sleeping in a "nest" isn't the problem. Sleeping in a dirty, smelly nest and then giving your girlfriend shit for not wanting to sleep in your disgusting mound of dirty clothes on the floor is the problem. Another reminder to avoid male doctors whenever possible. This kind of thinking is so common. Most male doctors would have just had an internal monologue "Endometriosis? **eyeroll**" I had a male maternal fetal medicine doctor (MFM) who was absolutely amazing. A man never initiates a divorce unless he's already getting sex somewhere else. They will stay with you even if they hate you because getting sex regularly is their primary concern. It was obvious from the get-go that this guy already had another woman lined up. He invented a reason in his own mind by rewriting history to justify his actions after the fact. Men don't understand the difference between being nice and being kind. Being nice comes easily to those who are kind because it's genuine. Mental illness isn't your fault but it is your responsibility. Most men who are mentally ill fall in to one of two categories. The main category is for the men who are in denial that they even have a problem and they also have no problem leaving emotional wreckage in their wake. The other category knows they have an issue and are willing to use mental illness as an excuse for their behavior while simultaneously refusing to seek treatment (that's where the responsibility part comes in to play).

Let's address the house first as it's a pretty cut and dry legal issue in most places. There is no way to convert something acquired before marriage (either separately or jointly) into a marital asset. If you both purchase the house before getting married, you both own the house separately and it is STILL not considered a marital asset. Refinancing, updating the deed etc does not change this …

Most women do have an issue with it, it's just not voiced using the same language that men use. When you see women explaining how to avoid pickup artists, they are explaining how to weed out men with high n counts. Women don't have to post scientific studies or debate posts to argue with men about why men with high n counts are bad news for women. Every woman already knows and no amount of debate is going to change male behavior.

Women are equally justified in seeking a partner with a low n count as a man is. Yet these discussions are always focused and framed based on the n count of women. Because men think it's totally fine for them to rack up a high n count will simultaneously judging women for the same behavior. I have no religion and yet I have a very low n count. I also don't want to date someone who is either religious or has a high n count. I don't frame this based on the future risk of divorce because I have no …

I can pretty much guarantee that my ex has contemplated this exact scenario multiple times in the past year. I think the only reason he hasn't asked is because he knows there is absolutely no chance in hell. And I'd tell all my friends and we'd all laugh at what a desperate loser he is (which we already do anyway). He's also been living at the bottom of bottle for the past 2 years and hasn't had a chance to come up for air yet. I also never discuss anything with him except absolute necessities. …

I love when I read the phrase "women often say" on this sub followed by something I've literally never said or thought. And if some guy asked for more sex in exchange for doing more chores... he'd suddenly be getting no sex from me. I'm no more interested or willing to have sex with someone for doing the chores than I am because they are able to use a fork correctly. Or wipe their own ass properly. "Good job Brad! For better or worse, I have a pretty expensive hobby. Having kids, getting divorced and being a single mother hasn't changed the fact that I participate in this hobby. I make my own money so I've never had to give it up. The second a man tries to give me *his* opinion on how I spend *my* money is the second I dump his ass. What's to agree or disagree with? I could say what I would do in that woman's shoes given a specific situation. I could think of a million different scenarios where what really happened was completely justified or where it was silly. If you've already done or said something she doesn't like, this last thing, while it may have seemed slight or a misunderstanding to you, could have been the final straw. There are so many possibilities. But beyond knowing specifics (which I don't care about), yeah,…

Because women aren't capable of differentiating between real life conversations and internet conversations and things "just slip" out of our mouths. I don't say "laugh out loud" or " L O L" in real life. It's never happened and yet "lol" has been way more pervasive than any FDS phrase or code word. LVM view women are chattel. If these same men held themselves and other men to the same moral standard as they hold all women, I wouldn't have as much of a problem with this kind of morality. But most men are hypocrites. They think it's perfectly fine, if not admirable, for men to sleep with tons of different women. And it's perfectly fine for it to happen via casual sex. Pets are often the target of domestic related violence. Men take out their anger on a woman's pets because he can't take it out on her directly but he can still hurt her emotionally. What little he did do was totally half-assed. Then he let the kids make a mess everywhere, even when they were less than 12 months old and never cleaned up after them. And he became a raging alcoholic. He eventually became like another child to take care of. Except my actual kids didn't resent me taking free time for myself or d…

Based on my personal experience, I have no idea what this redpill video is talking about. I was never like this nor was I friends with anyone like this. But then again I bought my first house 10 days after my 23rd birthday and paid my way through college without getting any student loans and no help from family. I was fully employed and a full time student. I didn't need discipline. If anything I'd be the one handing out discipline. For argument's sake, how do we quantify the premise that all th…

I just want to imagine that you were mid-drink and spit it out/uncontrollably laughed the second he said it. Please tell me this is what happened.

I may find some one really sexy but if they're a nasty person, any attraction I may feel evaporates. So maybe I find I picture very sexy, or a celebrity very sexy. But if I start to see negative personality traits, that overrides any sexual attraction. In fact, depending on how bad they are as a person I may actually find them repulsive. Having a serious ego problem or displaying sexism is the fastest way for me to find someone repulsive, no matter what they look like. (I'd like to mention that …

I'm a centrist / moderate. I'm conservative on some things and but liberal many things. It's been my experience that people who are very liberal will see me as conservative and vice versa. I don't need to have someone who believes exactly as I do. But there as some things that are deal breakers. For me, some political issues are merely a matter of politics/difference of opinion. Other issues are a matter of morality (or lack thereof). If I view your stance on certain issues as immoral or a direc…

Yes, your friendship with him is ruined. You can probably still be polite and friendly with him in public to avoid drama. But you're now just a notch on his bed post and he's going to view you as such going forward. He has no respect for you (and probably never did). Can you be friends with someone who doesn't respect you? And why would you want to? All you can do is learn from your mistakes and move on. And how to stop listening to your stuff? Don't put yourself in situations that make you have…

I've had 5 total, 4 of which occurred while I was still in high school. 3 of them I wasn't with long enough or we were still young enough that I don't feel comfortable or fair with assessing them one way or another. I think of those 3, 2 of them may have been wholesome but I really have no idea. One of those relationships ended before it could hardly materialize and we ended it mutually with no hard feelings either way. Of the other 2, the first one was very nice but he had no ambition, no desir…

Textbook financial abuse. God only knows what other forms his abuse takes behind closed doors. If women are impulsive and can't handle money in his mind, they also probably can't parent correctly or form any other kinds of opinions or make important decisions either. This is part of the reason why I refused to be a stay at home mom once I had kids. You are setting yourself up to either be abused or in a financial nightmare. You are under someone else's thumb in 99% of these situations and automa…

I was in a similar situation many years ago. The main difference for me was that we started dating much younger and I wasn't going to get married to *anyone* that young, no matter who they were. But after he graduated from college, we were both ready to move on to the next stage in our lives, which included buying a house. I made an ultimatum that we could not buy a house until we were married. He agreed and we got married. I cannot tell you that I 100% regret it, mainly because I probably came …

I'd like to mention for anyone who doesn't deal with a lot of people in the finance industry, basically everyone but clerks, admins and CSRs that work in call centers have VP in their title. They have to add levels like Executive VP and Senior Executive VP for it to mean much.

Because why should you be held responsible for your own behavior? You're just a dick with legs walking around looking to fuck things. I wonder if the OP thinks women who cheat should be treated the same way. Or does this special standard apply only to men? While they may not be evil and they can certainly be human, they deserve to bear the consequences of their own actions. Those consequences include most people with any sense of a moral compass, including myself, thinking they're a POS.

If your goal is marriage and children, I'd give it 3 years tops unless you're really young or on the verge of a big change (graduate school etc). Since I've already been married, have kids and don't want any more kids, I don't really care much about marriage. I'd consider it only if I were truly convinced that it would be beneficial to me as an individual long term (emotionally and financially). But I'd be fully upfront about my expectations, including requiring a prenup. I've seen some comments…

They want sex without any risk or effort on their part with the most attractive women possible. Or they want a woman that cleans up after them, caters to them hand and foot, does whatever they say, looks up to them as mentally and physically superior and has sex with them how they want it and when they want. If all men were like that, I'd rather be single and celibate for the rest of my life.
