Implying that you have "people skills" usually means that it's relatively decent from your perspective, else there would be no reason to bring it up as anything that doesn't directly contribute is neither a positive or negative.

It's better to be genuine with what you want and explain to him what it is that you're looking for. However, that's only possible if you know what it is that you're after. Or else, it lead you back into this same cycle of endless texting. Also apologizing for your past lack of enthusiasm due to whatever (hopefully true) reasons may help get him to understand that you're not just stringing him along like the next guy you're chatting casually with.

If it's dry, sometimes it can be because the conversation isn't leading anywhere, from his responses it seems like he feels that you're leading him on and only messaging/replying when you want his attention.

I surmise that the joke is funny precisely because of the sheer amount of men who employ similar tactics to try to bed women. Of course, it's a gross exaggeration of what they actually do, but you should be able to tell that the poster was being sarcastic. But for you to start complaining about the lack of "helpful or insightful advice" to your superficial questions, it shows that you're not fully understanding the humor behind the comment.

Not being able to pick up a joke shows that you're lacking when it comes to having a sense of humor. Very few things deter and repel women more effectively than the overly sensitive side that you've just shown.

Speaking from experience, those who usually ask the questions you asked in the way that you're asking are not exactly candidates that women will find to be attractive or appealing. Perhaps, looking through the previous posts, picking up a few books, and working on yourself will yield better results. Simply looking for "signs" and employing "tactics" from dating gurus seldom lead to much success due to the lack of full understanding behind what it means to truly be "appealing" or "attractive".

The women I get at 300k a year and 100k a year is about the same. 50k to 100k made the bigger difference. But at the end of the day, it really depends on what it is that you're looking to get. "Techniques" utilized in casual dating and the approach you should have when looking for a life partner are quite different.

All relationships are transactions. Regardless of the different types, it can be perceived as a collection of give and take. Whether you're able to truly find meaning within these transactions is up to how you look at it.
