How is it vague? The only exception to the law I stated is that the parent cant destroy or sell it. Lets take an example of a laptop a child has purchased... If a 15-year old buys a laptop after raising the money himself, and has a receipt of said purchase showing he purchased it and it is his... The parent(s) STILL has the absolute right to take away his laptop, only this time, they CAN NOT SELL IT, DESTROY IT, OR GIVE IT AWAY! They have the absolute right to deprive said laptop from the minor …

...the law is clearly agreeing with me on this point Funny, I just gave you sources that show that the law absolutely DOESNT agree with you on this

Parents absolutely have the authority of "Just because they say so". Only when it starts stepping into the bounds of "Grossly Unreasonable" does the courts and law get involved. And no, depriving a minor access to a cell phone does not count as "grossly unreasonable" In fact, let me quote to you the Rights and Obligations of parents... Legal Rights of Parents All parents have certain rights. Parents have the right to select a name for the child. They have the right to spend time with the child a…

Lethn, you need to be be aware of the law, because you are grossly mistaken. Parent(s) and/or Legal Guardian(s) can absolutely, in the best interest of the child, have absolute authority to restrict or remove property from a child, regardless if they purchased the item(s) themselves. Only small exception is if the child purchased the item themselves, the parent(s) and/or legal guardian(s) can not sell or destroy the item, but are within their rights to restrict or take away the item indefinitely…

A) This really isnt even a Men's Rights issue. This belongs under parenting issues. B) Since they are divorced, technically in the eyes of the law, the phone belongs to the mother, NOT the child. Until a child is of legal age, any and all property the child owns, EVEN PROPERTY THE CHILD BOUGHT WITH THEIR OWN MONEY, is under the authority of the parents / legal guardians. C) The Dad has the parental right to confiscate the phone when the child is with him D) Once the child has been returned to th…

If she bought it with her own money, that she made working at a summer job or whatever, he can just steal it? Incorrect. Until a child is 18 and legally an adult, any and all property a child has belongs to their parents and/or legal guardians. Example question posted by a 17 year old Whatever the child has technically belongs to the parents / legal guardians, even IF they bought it with their own money.

Ahh, so were starting the see the inevitable extinction caused by the social structure breakdown as predicted by the John B. Calhoun Mouse Experiements. Note especially the part of the study where the male mice essentially stopped caring about sex, instead spent their time only in cleaning, sleeping, and eating, all solitary pursuits. Its uncanny the prediction the experiment wrought, describing this very conclusion which in Japan is beginning to show. Even when repeating the experiment multiple…

Which you are correct, but it was just more than overpopulation that actually lead to the breakdown. In fact, the experiment itself noted that the enclosure was able to handle a population of 3000, which it never even reached, instead capping out around 2200. The major cause of the extinction was that overpopulation lead to a complete breakdown of the social structure, followed by a feedback effect where each subsequent generation was not being educated by the parent mice properly about the soci…

From a neutral standpoint, many of the replies actually are condemning the poster, but you have to scroll down to the bottom to see it. Personally, I think the debate is positive though. Many of the posters are facing reality regarding the nuances of reports of rape, and I see several who are opening their eyes on their own circular arguments. I posted a couple of them already. The next step I see is making the connection to the other side of the equation. Somewhere in the replies was a huge dis…

There is actually some good conversation over in the entire thread I definitely liked the debate the replies were having on the "feeling it was rape" vs. "legally it was rape" thought process. Whats funny is that that some of the people replying are backing themselves in a corner in their own arguments. some examples: ...I think you need to read back over what you said, especially "I believe that although he was hesitant at first, its not because he genuinely didn't want to have sex with you. I …

Its these few moments like this where I wish I was famous or had some kind of political or social pull where I could interject in some way or another. I so wish I was not just an average and easily forgotten face in the crowd

Perhaps the claim, at face value, is indeed bullshit But, in all honesty, can you give a reason why stating your gender is relevant? Does gender provide value as fact to the discussion? Does it validate or invalidate any stated facts in a discussion?

My GF watches Dr. Phil, while I am off doing something else. I cant stand the catering he does for women on the show. But this one, I ended up listening in to it while I was on the computer and she was watching from the other room, and it was a good one. Simply this: The allegations she made was due to their relationship ending. The father is saying she made up the allegations, while the mother swears its true. Dr. Phil then starts poking holes in her story, and by the end, proves that she was l…

Read all the way to the bottom between these texts. To me, it is an example on how easy and common just the threat can be thrown around. This is the reason why these situations are not so "rare"
