This woman sounds like speaking is a struggle for her. I'm not surprised. She does seem dumb as a box of rocks.

I'm a 22 y/o female. I currently work as a caregiver for people with developmental and physical disabilities. I think tumblr feminists are fucking morons, and I think that most of what I have seen of men's rights here on reddit seems to be about the same. I like video games, music, and my big dopey dog.

My mother gave me the following advice: If someone doesn't put as much effort into a relationship as you, they aren't the person you want to be with. Don't marry an alcoholic. Mutual compromise is the key to a healthy relationship. Don't be with anyone that can't wipe their ass properly because that shit is nasty. My dad told me: Make sure they read books. If they can't make food and coffee they don't deserve you. Don't date someone like me. My stepdad told me: I don't care if you're 22, you're …

You are talking about two specific demographics. I am going to liken this to my own experiences, simply because I can't speak for all women. For me, I hate, and I do mean HATE partners I perceive as weaker than me. By that same token, I demand a certain equality in my relationships. In that respect, having a meg (family guy reference) around constantly drives me nuts. I usually end relationships where I have to be the leader or the dominant one most of the time because it's exhausting to me. I c…

I'll answer as a neither pill; 1) Yes; for six months! 2) 22 3) Every night, sometimes more than once. 4) He is pretty much always willing. The amount we have now is pretty good! 5) I am also always willing. Same as the previous answer. 6) 10! To be clear, I am very not Red Pill. There are no alphas in our relationship. He takes the lead in some things, and I do in others. It gives me great joy to make him happy, and he feels the same way. I'm not for l33t female domination, or for being with so…

This is disgusting. Conversely, I do have two weird story about this. FIRSTLY: A friend of mine is gay, and she ended up dating another woman. Her parents, however, were strictly and militantly religious, they would completely have cut her off (she was in school at the time, and couldn't afford to pay rent on her own at the time). She ended up "Dating" a gay guy she knew from a support group, who was amenable to the relationship because he was in a similar situation. In about year 6 of her schoo…

I agree to an extent. I think convicted child molesters (where said child is below the age of consent) should have a published yearbook of their photos sent to every household in the world every year for the rest of their lives.

That sorta straw mans all women though. If we are supposed to be leading by example, then we should point out that not all men are sex robots, and not all women are manipulative, sometimes emotions just don't match up. I firmly believe that men are treated like crap when it comes to conversations on the friend zone, but I also think that the idiocy of the few women who care enough to bitch like it is a problem for them does not equate to people who just genuinely get into emotionally confusing s…

I completely agree with you that most people see the friend zone in a bad way, and it is horribly biased against the men in the situation, but there is also the other end, where women get backlash as well for rejecting someone. I think the psychology can be sympathetic to either party depending on the context (IE one of those women who use men's feelings for personal gain while simultaneously keeping them at a perpetual arms length. I feel in those sorts of situations most people pick up on the …

I not only saw this, but I also felt a violent surge of anger towards parts of it. Saying "Hey or Hello" or complimenting my hair makes me happy (I am a girl). I don't care if you are George Clooney or a homeless guy with a lawn flamingo dreadlocked into your hair. Those aren't impolite phrases, they are compliments. Equating a compliment to saying "I wanna shit on your chest and take a dump on your tits" is over-sensationalized and nonsensical. It doesn't help that the gender swap on this is ri…

Speaking as someone who had put someone into what might be considered the friend zone, I get frustrated by this. It isn't always black and white. Women aren't actively trying to screw guys over. There are a subsect who are just in it to see what they can receive, be it material or attention, but that isn't the overarching theme. One of my best friends (literally known him since birth) developed a crush on me since high school. We had known each other for years, always been like brother and siste…

I'm not white knighting. You posted something that pretty much is the baseline definition of sexual harassment. Has they been flirting, or was there a history of sexually driven conversation I would agree with you that she was wrong, but the guy was being immature and wouldn't stop being immature even though she pretty clearly said no.

I believe that the movement is sects, just like the men's rights movement. Some people are rabidly anti-men in the feminist movement, some focus on REAL issues, like forced female genital mutilation, honor killings, and arranged marriages, or the way acid is thrown on women in the middle east for daring to speak out or show more than a narrow strip over their eyes. I think the issue with defining feminism is that the loudest people seem to be the most rabid. There are TONS of feminists who are m…

You don't deal with those people. This is a lesson I learned from reddit. If people actually believe stuff that vehemently they are in a state of mind where they CAN'T be wrong. She is going to completely write you off as a problematic shitlord no matter how rational your arguments. It is the same for everyone who rabidly believes and supports something. They are so focused on the fact that they are right that it precludes them from absorbing anybody else's point of view.

What this guy did was harassment. It isn't cute or funny, and the first thing she said was "I didn't need to see that. I don't need to be disrespected by someone I don't even know". He continued to harass her after that, and insulted her for not wanting to see him naked. It was only after several more messages had been sent back and forth that she finally threatened to tell his mommy. And good for her. I am assuming her talk of the perpetuation of rape culture is his continued attempts to be coy…

You are still clinging to something insane to try and make her look bad, aren't you? Just because someone looks good on paper doesn't make them perfect. In fact, if you list someone's accomplishments of course they are going to sound perfect and you can literally do that to anyone. Let's not talk about emotional scarring and trauma he probably has from losing his mother at the age of 16 at all, I mean, I totally wouldn't want to acknowledge that. And going by your own argument, she was there to …

I'm still not deigning to respond to this because you are again attempting to speak as though you have legitimate access to a persons mental processes. You don't. You also don't have the right to turn a fellow guy into a robot because it's safer for you to assume that he is somehow inhuman rather than face up to the fact that hr could have emotional depth, and be kind, and thoghtful and make mistakes and yet also play spots and be successful. In fact, you are basically the stereotype of an MRA t…

I wouldn't call this specifically antifeminist as I have seen some of these same things said on this same subreddit (of course with gender or issue swaps). I would say it is more a score card for any one of ANY movement who things they can use blinds to distract you from making a point they don't agree with/can't rebut. I like the info presented. 10/10.

Slut walks aren't for women taking pride in being sluts, in fact, to quote the wiki article down below: The rallies began after Constable Michael Sanguinetti, a Toronto Police officer, suggested that "women should avoid dressing like sluts" as a precaution against unwanted sexual attention. I also know a lot of rape survivors who go on this to empower themselves and shed some of their fear (most of the time with friends or family supporting them)

I know a decent number of my friends who go on these walks, men and women alike. They are all in rape survival groups. They wear the same outfit (or type of outfit) they were wearing on the day they were raped. To them, it helps them get some control, some power over that feel of helplessness, or the fear that they suffer when making choices as simple as putting on clothing. Two of my friends who are most active in this is guy and his wife. They both wear a copy of a drag outfit he wore to a new…

This is a bit I wrote for a college essay about an experience I had with this in high school (this is a rough draft of it, can't find the final) You know that guy who claims to sleep with a girl, and suddenly everyone thinks she is a whore even though it never happened? That was me. I thought I had it really bad. Even though I was a virgin until I was a sophomore, I thought I had it the worst, because the entire school thought I was a massive slut, to the point where there was a widely-believed …

Except she didn't say anything like that. Do you not know how to use the English language? She didn't say she liked "emotionally unavailable strong men who domineer her in a relationship and force her into a stereotypical gender archetype" she is SUPPOSED to have said (I say supposed because the only actual quote in the article says that she considers British men reticent) that she likes clear signals from a potential significant other. Now, you can try and straw man that as much as you want, bu…

Or she enjoys him as a person and you could stop wildly grasping at straws about her emotional state. Clearly she couldn't consider him an equal, or match him in any ways, because, you know, becoming massively famous at a young age, still growing up to get an exceptional education and becoming a UN Goodwill Ambassador aren't any sort of achievements at all. Why do you have to attempt to demean her to prove a point? Why can't you use fact instead of your own assumptions of her character? She went…

This is an actual quote from Emma Watson where she absolves men of creating body stereotypes and actually places the insecurities in the hands of those who have them. I hope this helps open your eyes to the fact that a google search could have shown you how utterly wrong you were about what you are trying to say. "I've accepted my body shape more as I've got older," said the Harry Potter star. "I went through a stage of wanting to have that straight-up-and-down model look, but I have curves and …

Oh, yes, because an actress who's life is scrutinized every single day by invasive media figures is assuredly going to try and risk making a fool of herself if she is not sure of another person's romantic interests. God forbid someone who literally stated she didn't like the reticence of men when it came to making their emotions clear to her speak out about... well... just that, actually. And it also couldn't be that she DID try and wasn't met with enthusiasm, or that she might be emotionally vu…

What about the guy she is dating? You mean the double major in medicine and linguistics who speaks three languages and had both his parents die from cancer, one when he was a toddler, one when he was 16? Yeah, I am sure he has no emotional depth whatsoever because he just so happens to be an athlete. Or wait... did you just great a straw man AGAIN to try and prove that somehow, because her boyfriend plays rugby, that he MUST be an assertive, domineering asshole? How does enjoying playing sports …

And apparently you just get to label any old person you don't think fits your argument into just "a jock" That jock is an intelligent Ivy League athlete. He is majoring in medicine and modern languages, actually, and apparently has very high grades. He fluently speaks Spanish French and Russian. He does play rugby as well, but why should that be the measure of his intelligence? To continue, he must also have some emotional depth. A few things... Emotional sensitivity and honesty does not equate to being shy. She wants to know if someone is attracted to her without suffering the insecurity of a two month wait time just to get a first date. That DOES NOT mean she wouldn't want a confident person who is also in touch with their emotions. Secondly, stop being so blind. Personal preference is fluid. Encouraging people to be themselves and not controlling self-abusive robots is not a selfish power grab. Thirdly, are you even r…

And you're creating a straw man to try and prove a point. Just because she is not specifically romantically attracted to something does not mean she does not support it. You sound less like an activist and more and more like a tumblr style SJW the more you talk about this. If you are really somehow trying to insist that an article with NO ACTUAL QUOTE paraphrased without context somehow is the telling point of how she thinks, then you are out of your mind. Personal taste does not override personal belief. If she prefers people who move at a faster pace to more reticent men that is her personal preference. Also note that the second article holds no actual quotes from her. There is nothing hypocritical here, unless you are somehow supposing that to be "accepted" you MUST be romantically involved with Emma Watson. Just because she does not want to date a shy person does not mean that she does not accept them. Again, please stop trying to fabricate ou…

Isn't that thought policing? Ignoring the click bait style of the second article's journalism, I think everyone has the right to be attracted to certain things, don't they? That's like telling a guy that if he supports gay rights he also must therefore be attracted to gay men. It doesn't work that way. Overall, I respect this subreddit, but stuff like this bothers me on a deep level.

Axiomatic is an awesome word. I totally agree, and it's a complete double standard. To actually claim to fight for equality by highlighting, enforcing and enforcing the strained differences between genders isn't a movement for civil rights, it's the creation of a civil disparity.
/r/MensRights15/08/14 12:29 AM

Absolutely none, because there is clearly no precedent set that men are expected to be the financial rock in any relationship, and are generally disparaged for showing something as simple as emotion. That's not oppressive at all.
