I agree. However, treating modern men as morally suspect is largely a reflection of the number of men who are morally suspect, in the spectrum of our own moral standards. If someone voted for Farage / Rupert Lowe, Marine La Penn, Trump, I’d consider them morally suspect. If their socials lean towards the Joe Rogan end of the spectrum, same. If their charisma hinges on negging and putting others down, same. If they only have a friendship group comprised of people who can benefit them, same. And s…

There’s no one answer, but here are mine: Be clean, look after yourself. Shower at least once a day. Brush your teeth at least twice a day. Keep your hair (head and body) trimmed and tidy. Wash your clothes after you wear them and don’t wear dirty things. Be healthy. Eat good food. Do exercise. Treat ailments. If you are healthy and clean, you look good and smell good. That’s all that really matters as a first stage. If you need to ask this question and you’re not in therapy, it’s worth starting…

I’m not the OP, but I generally date for a couple of months before sex is a thing and date for 6 months before I’d consider something to be a relationship. It hasn’t hurt my dating options, or kept me out of relationships where we’re compatible.

This! It makes me lose interest so quickly, it’s a clear signal they’re awful at ‘mate selection’. It’s a pattern I see in people who get into lots of successive, short-term ‘relationships’ lasting a few months, only for it to fall apart when incompatibility becomes blindly obvious. It screams insecurity and impulsivity.

It’s been 3 months. I’m a NEET as I was made redundant (I cover the latter in my initial reply). As a NEET, I still go out. I have savings, I’m not claiming welfare yet. I’ve actually only just started looking for a new role as I appreciated the time out to regroup. Being made redundant is a stressful situation to be in. I meet people in the real world fairly regularly as I’m still actively sociable. I’m conventionally attractive and old AF at 42, but there’s never a shortage of men in their 20s…

I’m currently an unemployed NEET woman, after being made redundant. I’m not dating while I’m in this situation, and I’m incredibly up front about that when guys ask me out. I wouldn’t date anyone whose life is upheaval. Because I have my shit together as a person, I don’t date when my life is in upheaval. 🤷‍♀️

I like bi guys. I’m not into slutty men though. 🥲 The how is way more important to me, I’m not into fuck boys either. 🥲

🥲 I’m not adverse to older men, just much less likely to meet them. I don’t do online dating, I meet everyone I date out in the real world. I can’t say I have much experience of younger men being angry about dating ranges either, it’s not a conversation I’ve ever had. It’s not like there’s a shortage of single people in the world, especially in big cities.

I’m not personally convinced. I’m 41 and date guys in their late 20s, 30s and 40s. It’s not unique among single people I know my age, we’re all dating similar age ranges - male and female. The only time any of us raise an eyebrow is when we’re being flirted with by someone in their teens or early 20s, and it’s usually us finding it a bit creepy vs judgement from the group. My Dad is also married to someone 11 years older than him, so basically the same age difference as your example. It’s less c…

It seems somewhat impossible for them to exist without men’s input. Where did the dynamic come from? Who is perpetuating it? In 41 years of life, I’ve experienced two men and two women who are locked into a way of life that is focused on the money and appearances - and they’re verrrrry specific people who have always aspired toward a very particular trip (models and musicians). In my network of literally thousands of people, it’s 4. Yet this sub is insistent it’s the norm.

Some days when reading this sub, I can’t tell whether RP Americans are a cultural phenomena for believing in this stuff, or the sociological ineptness of the people who post is a self-fulfilling microcosm in and of itself. Either way, if you don’t like the people you know or the belief systems you’re abiding by - why do you not look to adjust them and seek to meet more normal, well-adjusted people? It’s wild to me that you’d forge a life around these belief systems, hate it, but just keep living…

I last asked someone out on a date last week, and we went on Saturday. We took it in turns to buy drinks though. 🥲 I’d say I ask someone out on average once a month if I’m not already dating someone.

Honestly, it makes me less inclined to date anyone. It was definitely a catalyst in stepping away from online dating, I don’t see it as a viable route to meeting someone I’d like because the commentary online (in general) about dating apps just isn’t a vibe. I stick to dating people I meet in the real world now, and I get to know them as people first. I think my key takeaway from red pill is that they don’t believe in a slow burn, so it feels like that in and of itself is a decent way to sort aw…

It does! I wouldn’t consider 6 months a relationship, just dating. Then 6 months actually in a relationship, making plans and considering moving in together. If you haven’t even made it that far, or worse, rushed into something really prematurely for it to just fall apart within 12 months, and that’s their entire relationship experience - it doesn’t speak highly of the individual. I wouldn’t judge someone in their teens or early-mid 20s in the same way, but once you hit 30 it’s a huge red flag t…

I don’t have an idea of a dream guy, so that’s a moot point for me. However, I wouldn’t date someone with no relationship experience in their 30s+. They have no idea how day-to-day life works in a relationship, and it suggests a level of emotional immaturity / behavioural issues / inability to form something meaningful with someone / not being able to deal with adversities. TLDR - it’s a red flag I’m not willing to look past.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/25 07:58 AM

Depends on his relationship experience. If he’d only ever been in the dating phase (say longest period of dating the same person was 6 months to a year and he was in his 30s), I wouldn’t be interested.

Physical attraction isn’t particularly relevant, it’s more rapport. Probably once or twice a week, more if I’m going out to a gig, bar or a party. Generally speaking once I get to know them a bit, there’s not much interest for me beyond friendship.

Pre-owned fashion, I self taught web design and I still do some modelling on occasion. At the moment I’m not doing anything side hustle wise as I worked my ass off in my 30s and my day job is pretty demanding, but I still have my own passion projects and around 400 things from my own wardrobe I’m selling - so that takes a fair bit of time to get through. I’m not sure where your life experience has taken you, but most people don’t tend to get married by their 30s and stay with the same person for their whole life in the UK. The divorce rate is over 50%, for one, and the marriage rate has also been tailing off. I’d say I probably know an equal number of people in relationships compared to those who are single. I certainly meet more people who are single just in the daily business of existing, because they’re out there living their lives in a simil…

I work full time, I have a home and garden to maintain, I have an active friend group spread across 3 cities, I have side hustles, I have hobbies. Realistically I don’t have the time to date, I can sacrifice the time and energy but it’s kinda reluctantly at this point. I don’t buy it. People are reconsidering their expectations of life by aged benchmarks in line with a variety of socioeconomic factors. The idea of aging out of things like hobbies, fashion and life experiences has changed owing to improved health and nutrition, but also where American people in their teens, 20s, 30s and 40s expect to be by certain ages. Americans are less likely to be home owners and parents by 25 (and in general, compared to Gen X, Boomers and the Silent Generation), more like…

I find jerky behaviour so skin crawling, it’s unreal. There’s not even a fine line. It feels like a subset of men have figured out how to trigger insecurities in people using it as a certainty, forgetting swathes of the world have put those to rest and have no time for their bullshit. If I made my ability to trigger people’s insecurities in that kind of way the basis for my dating life, I’d probably quickly become very bored and disenchanted by the type of people it worked on and their inevitabl…

👏🏻 exactly this. These terms aren’t used to describe men who aren’t having sex or are having a lot of sex, they’re attributed to behaviours which are exhibited alongside those things. Within the Venn diagram of one of those circles AND additional behavioural traits sits the monicker.

Or not feeling like I have to pay for dinner because I earn twice as much? Or accepting them staying sober and giving me a ride home? Or letting them pick up food instead of me cooking? This is just silly 🥲 Yes, I do. Those things are attractive. It’s also one of the major reasons that most of the men I know who outwardly show those traits are in relationships. On what basis aren’t they attractive? Your commentary devolves from this point into chaos, but I’ll do my best to cover the rhetoric: 50% of the men I’ve had relationships with (dating more than 6 months) are considered conventionally attractive. 50% aren’t. I can see why you’ve drawn those conclusions, there are a few things also worth considering though: The porn demographic is a specific subset of women, not representative of most women in the general population. Their data is specific to women who seek pornography. Erotica is a 3D character experience. Where I live, there are several men’s groups which receive support (and funding) from both men and women. Some are meet-up clubs, some are mental health focused. There are also a bunch of mixed gender clubs and meet-up groups. There are definitely plenty of options here if a man wants to choose not to be lonely and unsupported. If people can’t be friendly with their exes, they most likely shouldn’t consider having kids. Then it makes less sense that men would be seen as providers in the US - women should be able to afford to save up and pay for their own kids 🤷‍♀️ Reality is that housing, food, general costs of living and medical costs make it ridiculously hard for people to have kids in America. 🥲 The wages are higher but their expenditure is higher too.

I feel like this is a largely an American issue. At the ripe old age of (almost) 41, as a woman in England, I know no women who don’t go at least 50/50 with a partner. Around half of my female friends had kids, and there was a different agreement for finance then due to maternity leave payment, but aside from that (largely at cost to their pension contributions for 1-2 years and reduced short-term income), they were paying in half of the costs. Those who didn’t have kids pay between 100% and 50%…

That’s definitely not true for me or my friendship group. I guess you as a woman and your fellow female friends are really different. 🥲
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/25 11:41 PM

It seems that way from the observer’s perspective. 🤷‍♀️ Disenfranchised people want some sort of justification for not getting what they want from life, without accepting responsibility for their own part played. There are examples of it throughout all societies. I struggle to see any real evidence in society that any man regardless of appearance / wage can’t find a fulfilling relationship. I would hate that. Someone may as well have walked up to me and said “I like your packaging, I’d like to take it somewhere”.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/25 02:31 PM

It feels utterly ridiculous and derivative. People love a scapegoat excuse for their unhappiness. It’s easy to give a list of things the average person doesn’t have / doesn’t do and say “I fail because of this” despite the glaringly obvious fact that millions of very average people don’t fail.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/25 02:30 PM

I’m still unclear as to what you mean. It’s a very obscure post which seems to suggest he’s into being cucked. If he wanted a relationship with the person he’s in a relationship with, what changed?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/25 06:04 PM

I’m confused by your take. Are you saying that you want a woman who sees you as potential relationship material to have sex with you and barely talk to you for weeks while seeing other people?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/25 03:34 PM

In all honesty, I have an attraction to men who are more intelligent than I am. I’m hopelessly enthralled by men who can teach me new things and engage me in intellectual conversation. It doesn’t matter whether they earn more, look a certain way or any other marker. If they engage my brain, make me reconsider my world view and have an open emotional softness, I’m hopelessly charmed. 🥹

I feel the stigma as a woman turning 41 in February who is pursued almost entirely by men aged 32 and younger. Personally, it works both ways. I find it unnerving that most of the men who ask me out or message me online are ~10 years younger or more.

Being attracted to things you perceive as provocative is buying into a societal trope. There are tribes where women walk around in virtually nothing, and their bodies aren’t fetishised - simply because it’s the norm for women to be bare breasted and similarly dressed to men. Accepting that fetishisation is engrained in you because of your own preconceptions is a better viewpoint than worrying about people getting the wrong impression. Not being funny, but I’m fetishised when wearing jeans and a …

I make outfit choices based on how much I like the clothing and the overall aesthetic, not based on how people will perceive me wearing it. If I focused on what other people thought of me that much, I might never get dressed or go anywhere. Consider that your fetishisation of apparel and bodies is the root cause of your perceptions.

I mean… those are all interests. I can’t say any of the things I do or find intriguing aim to be sexy. I wouldn’t stop doing any of them if people thought they were off putting. 🥲 In my mind, being sexy is more about charisma, body language and personal interaction. 🤷‍♀️ I can find some people more attractive because I share interests with them (and as such, conversation is more natural and it’s easier to bond), but I don’t find those things sexy because someone is doing them.

Aha - see point “Debating politics / sociology”. I find the pill stuff interesting. 🙃 As a side note, I’m not sure any of us are emotionally healthy, we all have our foibles and mess. ✨

Just rubbish gym weights. Nothing interesting aha. I suspect if I was an Olympic athlete I wouldn’t have any time for hobbies 🥲

I honestly think men will say anything’s sexy if they think it’ll get the desired effect 🙃

There’s definitely something in this. I would be much more open to dating / relationships and far less guarded about it, if it wasn’t such a huge responsibility to run a household, advance my career and secure my future. The truth is that being comfortably independent comes at huge cost to your emotional boundaries. You’re more likely to nope out of things which could be detrimental to your wellbeing, you’re less likely to take risks on things you’re not sure about and you’re more likely to be c…

Struggling guys might like to try getting hobbies which are sociable. 🥲
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/24 07:21 PM

Having hobbies, opinions, beliefs, morals etc would indicate that the man is anything more than a shallow husk of a person, which is what his friends equate him to be in this post. 🙃 A man with a good job and a societal benchmark for physical attraction might not be dateable for thousands of reasons. Maybe he’s super religious maybe he has insecurities, maybe he’s condescending, maybe he took ivermectin during the pandemic and doesn’t shut up about it, maybe he is the most boring man on the plan…
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/24 06:33 AM

No, charisma isn’t substance. It’s a minor personality trait at best and the only one mentioned by his supposed good friends, which is tragic.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/24 06:23 AM

There is 0 substance to this man if he is just a body and a job. I wouldn’t date that either.

TIL I’ve had an awful lot of sex with men who became women because we had mutual respect and gave each other advice. 🥲

I don’t think you can say it’s ADHD. I’m ND too. It sounds like you’ve not spent much time in your own head or skin, you default toward using other people to occupy your mind and body. It’s great you’ve made progress but FR, let’s say you settle down and your man dies age 76 and you live till 82. How are you coping when in full sound mind and body, you can’t spend a month solo?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/04/24 10:40 PM

Maybe an off piste take, but I find it super easy to be alone for weeks at a time as a woman. I have no issue socialising. No issue finding dates or partners and no social hang ups preventing me from seeing people. I just like the rest / calm of spending my free time relaxing or at the gym. I can do my own household stuff like DIY or household chores. I appreciate having fun with friends but it doesn’t bother me to just spend a weekend sorting my life out, exercising, gardening, reading or whate…

The no BS approach, the hobbies, the way of thinking… it all aligns. I find NT people (especially men) infuriating. Look up ‘tism riz’ on any social video app - it’s almost entirely ND women explaining or stating their preference for dating ND men. Probably a better sample group than one woman on Reddit.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/04/24 04:54 PM

That might because you’re not a ND woman, nor do you have experience of what it’s like to be one or what they want from a relationship ☺️
/r/PurplePillDebate15/04/24 04:51 PM

You also don’t have a way of knowing how common that preference is for ND men. You’re just guessing based on your limited experience. 🥲

I’m an ND woman, conventionally attractive and no problems finding partners. I prefer to date ND men and women. 🤷‍♀️
/r/PurplePillDebate15/04/24 04:27 PM

I'm partial to using the occasional fuck boy for their intended purpose, but none of them have been as good in bed as my first love. 🥲 I wouldn't mind another relationship but realistically I don't have the time to date between work, social life and running a home.

The only reason a woman would want a provider / someone to pay for her is if she needed someone else’s money. Sounds a lot like hypergamy.

🤦🏼‍♀️ this is some presumptuous nonsense. By and large my female friends are better educated and / or better paid than their partners. They split living costs equally (as I have always done when in relationships). Even those less well educated or working in fields with average wages have partners super similar to them. I have friend groups spanning models, academics, athletes, musicians, people I've known since I was a teenager and dive bar frequenting dreamers. Maybe you have a persuasion towar…

This is unhinged to me. I've always paid at least 50% toward things in relationships. I don't know many people who aren't in a relationship that isn't equal either. Always seemed like an American BS trope for TV or a boomer hangover from before women were allowed their own bank accounts.
