Poor guy, but you have to consider it in its cultural context. The man had been with the woman for 10 years, and didn't marry her. Beating him was unacceptable (and the phrase "gave him a good beating" is especially aggravating) , but who are we to judge their culture? They are equally likely to force women to marry men, and it is none of our business to impose our beliefs/value system on them.

If you're not comfortable using the trough or urinals, then please use the stalls. Women need stalls for biological reasons, and often have small children with them. If you are afraid of embarrassment, how does subjecting women to the very same thing increase your station in life? Get a grip man, your attitude is why so many people have beef with the Mens Rights movement. You are no different from Dworkin, but with the genders reversed.

It's difficult to change people's minds, but realize that legislation is going in the opposite direction. As a side note, you'll notice how men are more protective of their daughters than their sons in general: especially when it comes to older partners. This could explain some of it.

When I was a boy (around 20 years ago), I remember a lot of fat older men spending what seemed like unnecessary amounts of time in the nude. Almost everyone under the age of 20 would shower in a private stall, people from 20-40 would choose the private stall or shower in their swim trunks, but everyone older than that would go naked in the public areas. It turns out that the older guys were not creepy perverts, but instead had plenty of group showers in gym class when growing up. What was scanda…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
