A lot of men lack male role models as kids and never learn how to take care of themselves. I was never taught how to shave, tie a tie, etc. All that stuff was trial and error. I also notice there’s something strange in US culture, particularly in white Americans, where basic hygiene and grooming is considered effeminate and ridiculed. Getting called a “fag” for using hair gel or moisturizer was pretty much expected growing up. Being fashionable as a man is often looked down upon in America where…

Its too simplistic to try assign 1 physiological profile to everyone who relates to RP or that the ones on reddit represent the entire movement. Agreed. People like to assign some pejorative to all RP followers and it doesn't work. All your examples are of people who's social skills have been stunted in one way or another. They find RP because they're seeking help. cocky and had been with plenty of women where they had a good insight into their behavior, knew how to trigger attraction, put thems…

I obviously don’t go around asking people if they’re autistic but I’ve had friends and family on the spectrum so I recognize certain behaviors and patterns.

If you’re regularly researching social situations and how to handle and explain them on the internet, then yeah you lack social skills on some level.

But your example is sort of my point. Its about being shocked that people cheat and searching for an explanation on the internet, socially fluent people don’t do that.

Being successful with women is more about being socially successful in general. The guys I’m talking about have always been charismatic and charming to people, not just in dating. The only reason you would even find the red pill is because either by nature or nurture you have poor social skills.

People are too quick to attribute any lack of social skills to autism. The guys I’ve known who are into red pill stuff are socially stunted and odd but not autistic. The most sexually successful men I’ve met have never been red pillers.

Nah I’m not. Idk maybe it’s less common in big US cities

But where are you that this is an ongoing thing? In east coast cities amongst people in their 20s/30s I’ve never experienced this and have never heard a guy mention it.

I said people on this sub complain. Why would women change their behavior if there are guys willing to put up with it? I wouldn’t go on a second date with a woman who doesn’t pay her share. It’s never once been an issue. If anything insisting on paying seems to be a turnoff in my experience. Maybe this is a regional or age difference but I’ve never experienced it.

I have never been on a date with a woman that expected me to pay. It’s weird that’s such a common complaint here. If you don’t like it don’t do it. No one is forcing you to date these women. Why would you?

You’re right that people tend to date within their socioeconomic group. A woman with no education or job is very unlikely to marry a successful man. Men are more likely to “marry down” then women though. It’s still rare and frowned upon by society for a woman to choose a man that’s less successful then her. A college educated woman with an average career can pretty much date any man excluding only the most exclusive wealthy social circles. A man with similar education and income is usually limit…

I think we forget that those traits were necessary for human society until very recently. You can’t have a functioning, resilient society without violence and aggression in at least some form. I think we also forget that men are conditioned to be stoic because in the past someone had to be. Being emotionally open is great but it’s a huge privilege of modern affluent life. Stoicism has enormous utility that you can only afford to sacrifice if you’re catered to in the way the upper middle class in…

I agree with your roommate. If a woman doesn’t at least offer to pay half, and mean it, I wouldn’t see her again. Everyone’s a feminist until the bill comes. Fuck that, I’d rather not get laid then play that game. Chasing girls is one thing but you gotta have self respect.

There’s a shift around late 20s, early 30s where the women who want to settle down suddenly realize the clock is ticking. Often these women have very off putting attitudes and say weird things because they aren’t used to serious relationships and have poor dating skills because they never really vetted previous partners. I’ve had women ask me about kids, my career plans, marriage, etc. on first and second dates. A lot of these women feel entitled to a relationship and don’t realize they have to …

I would say most women and men still adhere to traditional gender roles in some ways. Society doesn’t change as quickly as we like to think. I’ve never had a woman expect me to pay for a date but maybes that’s cause I live in a major city. I definitely have had women with contradictory life goals that seem very confused about what they want. Women who want to settle down and be family oriented but are also extremely career focused and independent. There’s nothing wrong with either of those thing…

Patriarchy existed virtually everywhere in the world because it was optimal. Being able to physically defend and attack others was extremely important for self preservation for most of human history and men are biologically more suited for it. Not to mention the value of physical labor. I think where feminists get it wrong is that patriarchy genuinely was the ideal base for society. If it wasn’t, we would have evidence of successful matriarchal societies and we don’t. I don’t know much about the…

Because dating tends to revert to traditional gender norms whether we like to admit it or not. If a fisher is bad at fishing we don’t blame the fish we blame the fisher. Women were taught that being career focused and independent attracts men and it doesn’t. This belief system that the tough business lady is desirable is constantly enforced by our pop culture and leads to disappointment. That’s not to say successful, independent women are inherently unattractive but most men aren’t choosing thei…

I don’t blame women for using a strategy that generally seems to work. I think this is just an extension of the disproportionate responsibility that’s put on men in relationships. When men fail at dating we’re held responsible and the advice we’re given is usually focused on self improvement (work out, find hobbies, dress better). When women fail at dating there are more voices telling them it’s men who are wrong. It’s easier to blame the other side then to self reflect, if it was socially accep…

The old guard of the American Reagan conservatives is dying out for sure. Christian conservative beliefs are already and will continue to be more sidelined. That is not to say the right in the US is dying but it will look very different from Mitch McConnell’s Republican Party. The mainstream media has a liberal bias that makes things look more dire then they really are. To answer your question though, it’s odd to be out of touch with my peers. I live in a very liberal neighborhood of a very libe…

It's a statistical fact that these things were easier for the previous generation. There is no reputable source that would refute this. I agree that the parenting style of baby boomers did a disservice to young people but, on average, in the US times were not tougher. In fact they were much easier. It's easy for boomers to say they were "mentally stronger" when virtually every economic factor was working in their favor as they grew up.

It’s a fact that things were easier 20 years ago though. The numbers don’t lie. The minimum wage was higher and the cost of education was drastically lower. No one is arguing older people didn’t work hard. They just got rewarded much more frequently and generously when they did. It’s almost not worth it to work through college these days. The disparity between wages and cost is too out of control.

I think I agree with one exception. Baby boomers raised children to have incredible childhoods but didn’t pass on the life skills to be successful adults. Young people were more sheltered and catered to as kids which made them poor decision makers and less confident as adults. Also the education system became so rigid and standardized that leaving university can be an enormous culture and lifestyle shock for young people. The education system and the boomers’ obsession with it ironically makes f…

This is a good point. I’ve always been curious if “nice guys” are actually a new phenomenon or they’re just more visible now because of the internet.

I wouldn't buy a bag and pads without going to a gym first. You could develop bad habits. Cardio is the best way to go right now, especially rope. Jump some rope, go for runs, maybe do some body weight exercises. Research gyms and what you might be interested in, boxing, muay thai, and BJJ are all good options, try as many as you can and pick the one you think you'll stick with.

Being able to fight to defend yourself doesn’t mean you’re also instigating fights and being over aggressive. I’ve met a few semi-pro fighters thru martial arts and they tend to be the first to try to deescalate a situation. They could handle themselves if they had to though.

No one is morally obligated to control themselves in that context, I just personally wouldn’t associate with those people. They don’t have to control themselves and I don’t have to date them. It’s that simple. I never said I would shame anyone. I’d be their friend or whatever but I wouldn’t want to date someone who’s actions I regard as irresponsible. A soldier or a stuntman is being paid to take on risk, they’re not just pursuing danger hedonistically. Not to mention it would be reasonable to n…

I wouldn’t shame someone for eating too much ice cream and being obese but it’s definitely not healthy. I feel the same way about people with high n-counts. Sex is an inherently risk taking activity. Unwanted pregnancies, STDs, etc. are all possibilities when sleeping around. Someone who regularly prioritizes their lust over the possible risks is not attractive to me the same way someone who can’t control themselves around ice cream isn’t.

This is the point that gets missed. People with high n-counts tend to have underlying issues. The people I’ve known, men and women, with disproportionately high n counts have always had issues with their families, insecurities, reckless decision making, etc.
