Uh, no. That's the most negative way I've ever heard humor be explained. Being more friendly with people makes them more predisposed to getting your jokes, whereas they don't have the same rapport with an unknown meaning you'll have to work harder. This does not mean that they won't laugh at a joke for some weird wolfpack caste paradigm. Not every social interaction is about being an "alpha male" or some such nonsense.

They're an obsolete piece of headgear often used by guys with poor social and fashion skills, who may be somewhat misogynistic due to negative experiences with the other sex. This, coincidentally, fits rather well with the common view/stereotype of MRAs - neckbeards with a negative view of women disguised as a social agenda. Like the view of feminists as misandric lesbian harpies, it's generally wrong, but still it remains.

That's what many are saying, calling it blatant fudging of the numbers to make the law enforcement/military seem more progressive and egalitarian. It's not a huge difference, they just have to do four less pushups and an easier style of pullups. Still, I know from experience that a lot of men are frustrated when it comes to Cadet tryouts, where their performance counts for less.

It really varies according to how progressive your state/country tries to be. In the Scandinavian countries, women have to pass less strenuous tests for army/police tryouts.

Well you see, according to anarchofeminists, women are the proletariat while men (and women "on the wrong side") are the bourgeois.

IIRC, it all started with a 19-year old posting his story in Aftenposten's youth forum, and receiving tremendous support from the leading national feminist organization. It's really uplifting to see this dynamic between the two sides.

Post it to /r/MensRants. This sub gets enough flak as it is.

I'm not really sure what this guy is doing. He's basically saying that feminists dislike attempts to block abortion clinics, while MRAs dislike male rape trivialization. I guess he might be talking about the reliance on anecdotes and personal experiences in this sub versus the more snarky, editorial prose of /r/Feminism, but I genuinely fail to grasp it.

Both are straight out of the Men are Evil textbook. "Men are oppressive sex-crazed beasts eyeing me up for post-workout rape" is basically what most of these posts boil down to, and it has no place in a gender-neutral public environment.

God fucking dammit, you guys are just as bad at twisting and misconstruing arguments as the people at SRS. Yes, there are issues we need to deal with. No, it does not mean that we should behave like petulant children and start a shouting match about it rather than anything that actually changes the situation.

Fuck off, I'm not arguing against MRM. I'm saying that behaving like you, overreacting with the same rehearsed line to every counterargument, is not going to win hearts and minds, but make MRA's look like a collection of whiny crybabies. Constructive debate should be the name of the game, not the venomous shit that keeps nudging this sub closer to the style of SRS and /r/feminism.

Exactly. Behaving like a bunch of moaning manchildren does nothing for the cause except make the MRM even more of a subject of vitriol/ridicule.

Yeah, the veterans should be ashamed that they have had the historic privilege of being sent to die alone on a foreign field while women were forced to make the ultimate sacrifice of staying at home and taking care of their loving family.

Oooh, alright. Thanks for clearing that up. :)

I see this word thrown around a bit in jest. What does it mean - simply "You're upsetting me"?

Female judges are significantly more likely to put a woman away for murder than their male colleagues, suggesting it is mostly a male-perception thing. In Norway, most feminist organizations except the most extreme are staunchly against this coddling, so really it appears to be common ground, though under-represented by American feminist groups.

Isn't this alright, though? It's a testament to how far feminism has come from the paradigm of the Sixties on the appropriate day for it, not to how women are intrinsically better than men or anything.

How does that make any sense as an insult. You can't have an opinion as a man unless you're a transsexual?

Sure let's do this. And let's ban women from being out of the house when they're menstruating. We know how they become raging sex-fiends when their moon-blood is upon them.

Essentially, though, it's the female equivalent of guys' "I want a woman with big bewbs and who will MAEK ME A SAMMICH CX!!!", and has about as much significance. Remember that there are as many women with this kind of opinion as there are men with the above. Both are treated with as much respect from both genders, so it isn't really an MR issue. What page did you find this on btw?

I think you guys are reading a bit too much into a 13 year old girl's wish list.

"White Knight" is most commonly used as a pejorative for people who strive to attain the appearance of a good guy, often through misguided acts of "chivalry", like defending a woman over the internet or, in this case, beating down someone suspected of rape.

I once tried to comment in r/SRSdiscussion. A mod replied "your whole comment is shit and terrible. Like you." and banned me before I could reply. Internet feminists give the movement a bad name.

Not sure how this will help anything. All this is doing is perpetuating the tired stereotype of the manipulative, scheming female. It's doing exactly what MRAs blame radical feminists of doing.

I don't even know how to respond to your comment, so I'll pretend you said "I disagree with your comment. Please elaborate": I'm merely commenting on the fact that this sort of image really exemplifies the misogynistic views of some members of this subreddit - that women are subservient to breadwinning males, and in turn that many women only love men for their wallets. It's a view from the fifties, and makes /r/mensrights to equality what /r/atheism is to religious freedom.

If you look average, you can probable make yourself awesome by bulking up (not bodybuilder bulk, but enough for it to show), improving your wardrobe and going to university. If your friendship is based on your attraction to her, it's probably a good idea to spend less time with her. If you're anything like me, it helps to just not think about the issue for a while, and if reducing time spent together is what it takes, then so be it. If not, it seems like a bad idea to destroy what seems like a g…

The first thing to realize is, girls don't think of intimacy the same way guys do. Her telling you her deep secret is basically just an indication that she values your friendship, not that she is interested in a relationship. I hate to break it to you, but there is nothing of value for you here. At 18, you might be thinking "God I'll never find a better girl, I must make this one mine!", but sadly that's not going to happen - as you said, she's a lesbian, except when very drunk, and not your sou…
