Of course it does. Dread game is really nothing but a collection of classic thought reform and conditioning techniques with a fancy name slapped upon them. There is no reason why it wouldn't work on men.

Stop acting like I kicked a kitten in front of you just because I said that to me the post looks like a deliberate parody. It's the internet. Lots of people post fake stories all the time and this particular one just happens to look super fake.

I'm not going to visit that threat and try to call her out on it or anything if that's what you're thinking, because if I did that either I'm just feeding a troll or accidentially being an asshole to an undeserving person. That doesn't change the fact that this post throws up way too many red flags for me to seriously discuss it in this threat.

Oh so I should take some fake emotional outburst seriously destpite the fact that (s)he put in a provocatively obviouls and likely deliberate self contradictory statement that might as well be a sign saying "Look here, this is bullshit"?

We had nothing in common which gave us a tremendous amount of things to talk about out. Obvious parody is obvious. Cmon guys!

All humans are entitled to approach other humans according to our culture system. Telemarketing, door to door sales, asking what the time it is.. If men were not allowed to approach women it would be a special entitlement for women. That's a really bad example for the point you are trying to make. Telemarketers and door to door salesmen are way worse than men asking women for sex or a date and there are thankfully many laws that limit that practice (at least where I live).

You are not wrong that these phenomenons exist. Just please keep in mind that the experiences of internet strangers should not replace your own personal experiences in life. TRP has a way of gathering people who are unhappy with their relationships and life. That doesn't make their experiences any less valid but it means that inside those communities they are not properly balanced out by those who are happy don't have problems like that. If you start suspecting every woman that treats you less t…

Cheating is fucking horrible and should never be considered normal. Nothing against people who think commitment and monogamy aren't for them but if you entered a relationship where you promised to commit to a partner and then broke that promise you're an asshole. And yeah, even though stuff like open relationships or no commitment at all have become more popular recently the vast majority of men still want commitment and mariage. That being said from what I gather many want to wait a bit longer …

True and that's not a bad thing considering how many people marry for bad reasons. That doesn't mean there aren't any legitimate reasons to get married though.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/17 11:23 AM

Actually in many regions there are major tax and legal benefits to being married. Apart from that nowadays a marriage is really just a way to tell yourself and others that your relationship means more to you than a normal LTR and that you intend to stay together till death. If that idea doesn't appeal you or you think it's unrealistic then don't get married. There is nothing wrong with that. Other people still like the idea and there is nothing wrong with that either. I don't get why the purpose…

Well how many men who like Batman are actually like Batman? There is a difference between admiring someone and being that person yourself or even wanting to be that person. Heroes are generally celebrated for being better than most real people not for being like most real people. I really don't get the point of your post.

Nope I can't say I'd be interested. I wouldn't even be completely opposed to a polyamorous relationship under the right circumstances, but it would have to be multi-sided. To me the most important aspect of any romantic relationships is that my love and commitment to my partner(s) is roughly equal in scope to that of my partner(s) to me and I don't feel like that would be possible with women who had to share me with other people but whom I don't have to share with anyone.

No we should just stop using those words in general because they aren't helping. Something like patriarchy is such a complex concept that it's completely impossible to narrow down into a single word and have two people in a discussion think of the same thing when hearing it. Any kind of argument or question about the patriarchy will be completely ambiguous without a clarification what exactly the person even meant by patriarchy. So why not instead start off with the description of what you are t…

Well if 60% admit to having those fantasies we can be quite certain that the actual number is quite a bit higher because there are without doubt people who lie about having them, lie to themselves about having them or shut them down the moment their thoughts stray into that direction. I don't think it will be quite 100% (for example asexual people probably don't have them and it's entirely possible that some other people don't have them either) but I don't think it's too unreasonable to assume t…

Isn't a much simpler explanation that women who are sexually repressed just repress their rape fantasies? You know, Occam's razor and everything?

Just like every time a man is accused of sexual harassment some people will defend him because they think he was just harmlessly flirting and the woman wants attention even if they have absolutely no idea what actually happened. You always have to account for idiots with stupid opinions. I don't even doubt that there is some bias against men and for women in sexual harassment cases. However, I also suspect TRP is overexagerating that bias. The different sample sizes (many sexual harassment charg…

You are right, TPR is not a cult. For that it lacks organized member and leadership. There are however severeal distincly cult-like things about it. 1. The way it fishes for people with low self esteem by offering them a solution to their problems for the price of accepting the group's specific set of beliefs 2. The use of loaded language to control discussion. Take a look here for a full explanation. I especially like this quote by psychatrist Robert Jay Lifton: The language of the totalist env…

Her implication was clear that she was in a committed relationship, which, obviously she wasn't. She was just looking for someone better which he wasn't. Actually she says she is dating someone now so it's entirely possible she just didn't get around deleting her profile yet or the person didn't contact her until after she already deleted Tinder. Or perhaps she was just lying about dating someone because she found it creepy to be contacted by a stranger on facebook (or because she looked at his …

Okay so essentially the moment she politely turns him back a second time he starts insulting her for not good reason but still has the audacity to consider himself a nice guy. Yeah sorry, I know that the problem of genuinely nice guys who can't get a date does exist but this person is a prime example why so many people do consider people who think of themselves as nice guys™ to be creeps.

Well, primarily the emotional satisfaction you get from having me around. Don't get me wrong, all the other things people get out of relationships, stuff like money, sex, companionship, etc. are important. It's also important that the amount of these things each partner gets out of the relationship has roughly equal value to them otherwise it's going to be a one-sided relationship. However, ultimately you could just as well get those things in other ways without being in a relationship with me, …

Interestingly as a male INTP I often feel the same way towards other men. While I'm definitely don't qualify as feminine I don't really associate with most typically masculine traits either. Both overly male and overly female behavior usually strongly irritates me and I have a really hard time identifying with either. I also notice relatively little difference between myself and other male and female INTPs I know in that regard. Thus in my conclusion INTP is probably one of the most egalitarian …

Well kind of. I'm a man too and if the sex is otherwise great and we are happy together then breaking up over not getting oral sound kind of stupid to me. Sexual satisfaction in a relationship is important but blowjobs are not strictily necessesary for that.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/11/17 08:38 PM

For not getting sex no. For not getting sex over a limited amount of time (a few months or so) because of a good reason like illness or psychological trauma probably. For not getting oral sex not really, though depending on how the rest of the sex and overall relationship is he might want to think about getting his priorities straight. It's a stupid reason for a breakup but not morally wrong. With bad sex that really depends upon the situation because in my oppinion as long as your partner isn't…

I'm really not. There are many things that differentiate a relationship from a friendship aside of sex, romantic love being the most important one. If two people love each other romantically, live together and regard each other as boyfriend and girlfriend then it really doesn't matter whether they had sex yet, they are in a relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/11/17 04:35 PM
1

So if two people who have been married for decades grow old and stop having sex (this happens all the time) you would argue that they are not in a relationship anymore but in a friendship?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/11/17 04:18 PM
1

To me a transaction is a zero sum game. First person 1 has stuff A and person 2 has stuff B and after the transaction 1 has B and 2 has A. Both persons putting in A and getting out B is not a transaction in my oppinion. However ultimately that's just arguing over words. My main point is that it's stupid to apply the principles of economics to friendships or relationships.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/11/17 04:17 PM
2

But there can also be relationships without sex. You know, people living together, loving each other, kissing, etc. but not having sex. Do you think asexual people in a relationship should be called friends just because they don't have any sex? I get that sex is an important part of romantic relationships for most people (myself included btw) but it's hardly the only thing that differentiates a relationship from platonic friendship.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/11/17 02:24 PM
2

The problem with treating human interactions as business transactions is that they are usually not zero sum games, far from it in fact. Friendships and relationships can be immense time and resource sinks where both parties put in lots of effort and resources without receiving much value or satisfaction in return, but they can also be the opposite where they provide immense satisfaction to both parties without either one having to sacrifice much. Classic economics are usually really bad at model…

Can you really not fathom the idea that some people would rather have a relationship without sex or status attached to it rather than sex and status but no relationship? Sure, sex and status are nice but that doesn't mean they are hard prequisites for being in a relationship
/r/PurplePillDebate22/11/17 08:19 AM
4

Was I surprised something like wendelstein happened? Not really. It was kind of an open secret this stuff happens in Hollywood for decades. Doesn't mean I can't still be disgusted. Yes, sex can have a transactional value and I have no fundamental issue with people making money through stuff like porn or prostitution but people should not be forced to to those things. Sex against money is okay, sex to get a job completely unrelated to sex is not.

Because pretty much all of red pills core ideas are aimed towards justifying bad behavior. You see, most of the people who come to red pill do so due to bad experiences with women. They had their marriage gone stale or spiteful, had their wive or girlfriend cheat on them, feel like their SO is frequently taking advantage of them in their relationship, or just don't have any luck in dating despite following the advice of being themselves & being nice they heard from their parents. In short, these…

I'm pretty sure I speak for the vast majority of men when I say that lack of pursuit does in no way necessitate lack of interest. In fact, I'd guess that for the average guy the number of women they pursue is less than a fifth or even tenth of the women they are interested in. Possible reasons for why not to pursue a woman despite being interested include: Too shy Afraid of making a friendship/ work relationship weird feeling she's out of your league too lazy you're hoping for some kind of signa…

Yes. Money is worthless if you can produce everything you need. The people in question already have all the money they'll ever need, and yet they still gather more and more. At those top levels we are looking at a lot of highly competitive and narcissistic personalities that just wouldn't be content with an easy life supplied by robots. I seriously doubt they would just give up on the economic system no matter how irrational that might technically be. Yes, because politicians are the same people…

Do you really think these people would be content shutting down their billion dollar consumer goods robot factories just because they can technically produce everything they need for themselves? Do you really think politicians would be willing to kill all the peasants below them and thus make their own jobs obsolete? The only reason cooperations need politicians is to is because they control and manage all the little people. The moment politicians just let their own population die they will beco…

Because the rich people in charge wouldn't let that happen. Companies can have all the fancy robot factories they want, they still won't make any profit if the people they sell their products to can't afford them because there aren't any jobs. As much as those big cooperation like to look down on little people, without then there is no market and most branches of economy would collapse. First of all I severely doubt the whole automation situation will hit men any more than women. Men are good at heavy lifting but they are also more interested than the average woman in science, engineering and software devlopment which are likely to flourish in the next decades. No! FFS it doesn't! The fact that women decide who to match on Tinder solely by looking at their faces is directly caused by the fact that Tinder literally demands this of you. How TF would you match Tinder profiles based on personality?

I'll probably think about the accusation for a few minutes at least. Then, depending on my conclusion, I either tell them I'll change my behaviour or tell them why I think they are wrong and try to convince them. Their reaction to either response tells me whether they are good company to keep.

I agree that a lot of patriarchy arguments by SJWs are stupid. However I actually do notice stuff like that in this very subreddit all the time. It's not that people will outright defend an obvious wrongdoing just because it comes from someone of their gender and more that their own gender will influence the angle from which they interpret a (possibly hypothetical) situation. When fake rape accusations come up it's "How would I as a man feel if someone falsely accused me of rape" VS "How would I…

I especially love: "This study made on tinder shows that women will decide whether to talk to a man or not solely by looking at his face and will only pick the attractive ones. From that study we can infer that the exact same thing happens just like that in real life too."

Here's another example. Some woman isn't attracted to me. I give her 10k. That makes her feel good much better than the funniest joke. Do you really think she's attracted all of a sudden? Of course not. I agree with you that if there is absolutely no physical attraction in first place then no matter what you do it won't make a woman like you. However if that base attraction does exist then things like humour or helpfulness can help growing that attraction to the degree where she might consider a…

Well, the higher offs in Hollywood were essentially considered untouchable when it comes to sexual assault accusations until just a few years ago. However now that victims finally feel like they can raise their voice without being shut down and having their carreesrs ended we are now looking at a whole wave of accusations and outings. Remember that the list of people who are under scrutiny is still growing. Roman Planski might very well end up on that list. However that probably requires the peo…

There are people in life who are happy and successful. But it's not the majority. The majority are unfulfilled, because they prefer their comfort zone - fitting in with those around them, not questioning, not willing to take criticism. All that is true. The sad truth is that when we are born into this world some of us are more fortunate (richer or more attractive) and some are lessfortunate (poorer and less attractive) and it's also pretty obvious that those who were born more fortunate will hav…

So how many would you say there are? Because obviously there are the groups of men who are pansexual, asexual or just really low libido. There are also lots of men who would not like sex with strangers, most of them some variant of the fact that they simply prefer deep monogamous relationships or would consider sex with strangers cheap but for that later group that's more a question of personal prefecences rather than the fact that they wouldn't enjoy it sexually.

If staying at home and playing video games are your distinguishing features you should try out new things. But that's what dates are for, so that we could get to know each other. How is she going to get to know me before she gets to know me. Well that's a problem, and I am aware of it. Honestly this is one of the reasons why I think the classic "dating grounds" of bars and clubs aren't all that great. In those settings you essentially have to the asking out the moment you approach a woman. Well it has it's advantages too. At least as a man you are usually in control of your own dating success. As a woman it's much easier to get a date, true, but it's also much harder to ensure quality. Women can for the most part not choose who hits on them so if only assholes or inexperienced men who don't know what they are doing are asking them out the whole thing can be pretty frustrating for them too.

It seems women in general give shit advice on dating. But you know they say...don't take fishing advice from a fish. This is actually good advice. I just wish blue pill women would be as honest. Because those who do usually are hormonal teenagers who want to rebell against their parent's rules and end up making bad decisions in the process? Like seriosly I don't think there is much more to that. Doing forbidden stuff is exciting so doing bad boys is exciting too. Believe me I know. That's also my problem when tying to talk to a woman. That's something you just have to learn I think, there is no secret trick to it. Besides, Redpill dating advice doesn't really tell you anything about that either.

Well for conversations on reddit the biological differences between men and women aren't all that relevant so if you treat someone differently on reddit for their gender that probably IS sexist. Some more context might help though.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/11/17 01:40 AM

Well an important distinction to make here is that women enjoy sex differently from men. Men essentially enjoy sex for sex and nothing else. It's not like having sex with someone you love isn't better but sex with a random stranger is pretty good too. For women this is different because the way attraction works for them is emotional so the idea of sleeping with a bunch of random strangers that they have no emotional connection with is not nearly as appealing to them. Women also have a harder tim…

This is actually a important and ugly truth. There is a thing called maternal love which you mostly get from your mother. I think this might be the purest form of love that can exist. It is actually unconditional, it is warm, loving and comforting. Boys get this for a certain time, then suddenly lose it, and may never get it again. Well okay I can agree to that. However, to quote that article: Men believe that love matters for the sake of it. Women love opportunistically. and By order of degrees…

Well my bigges issue with RP is that it is so anti-women. It's not just the current users, the articles in the sidebar all look down upon women as irrational and immature and say that as an average man you have to establish dominance and emotionally manipulate them because if you don't they won't be attracted to you and will leave you for some alpha. I did read the sidebar which is where most of my issues with TRP come from. The biggest offenders I see are: Unlike men women don't really love they just want you for your genes/money/status To stay happy in a relationship you need to boss your SO arround Women have the emotional age of teenagers and you should treat them as such but there is also lot's of smaller stuff that I find pretty problematic. Well to be fair we can't completely regard all current differences between male and female sexual attraction as biological since there deffinetly are cultural differences involved too, that are almost impossible to single out and dismiss. Granted, most of it is probably biological but scientifically proving that would be difficult. However, ultimately that doesn't even matter apart from scientific curiosity. Fact is, that whatever the cause, these differences do exist and that you need to adjust…

I think that's because most people don't think it's controversial. Heck, even feminists regularly complain that men are pigs for being attracted to certain kinds of women. They couldn't do this if they didn't think it worked differently for men and women.

Well my main motivation with this was to show that not all dating advice from people outside of Red Pill is as horrible and stupid as most reds in that other threat seemed to think. No, young men need to learn to stand up for themselves and go for what they want. If anything, young women need to learn to date men the say men want to be dated. As I said in this very post, Red Pill is not wrong when they say that many young men enter dating with wrong expecations of what is expected of them and have a hard time because of it. I completely agree that good dating advice for men can be hard to find. Well that is kind of stupid. It's pretty obvious that there are some significant differences in behaviour between men and women. However there is a big difference between egalitarian behaviour and egalitarian values. It is pretty important that we as a society adopt egalitatian values, i.e. don't discriminate based on sex, don't try to press people into gender specific roles if they don't want to, and minimize gender differences in areas where they are social and not biological. However that doe…

Well Blue Pill is hardly homogenous. Here on PPD all Blue Pill really means is that you oppose Red Pill in it's views. Which I do. Quite strongly for some of them. As for the other opinions among BP, those range from hardcore SJW openly-anti-men feminists all the way to "Red Pill is bad because God and marriage" conservatives.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/17 09:10 PM
3

Then whom does red pill blame? Because when I look into the TRP sidebar it is full of articles on how women are by nature incapable of loving a man like he wants to be loved, how feminist influence turned men int wimps that women aren't attracted to and how bad advice by bluepilled parents leads to boys being unprepared for their later life. How is that not blaming "female nature, feminists, blue pill"?

I don't think reds are less than human. If I did, I wouldn't be here trying to convince people. Now, I do think that people who do some of the more hardcore red pill stuff like DREAD, or borderline rape consent ignoring, or deliberate undermining of a girl's self consciousness to get her more likely to have sex, are engaged in deeply immoral behavior but that does not include the vast majority of red pillers. The vast majority of red pillers are simply people who like you experienced sexual fail…

Well the question of if and in how far we can consider animals to have the same rights as humans is an intersting topic of it's own. I personally don't think we can attribute animals quite the same rights as humans since for humans with those rights also come with the duty to uphold those rights in other people, something that most animals inherently cannot do. However I can definetly agree that in the western world we have a lot of unnecessary animal cruelty that we should try to minimize. All …

WTF?!? So just because I dislike redpill I now have SJW friends and want to support animal rights over men's rights? That's a strawman if I've ever seen one. You didn't even respond to my arguments and instead equated my opinion with that of some random other person in this subreddit that I've never even seen or heard of who wrote a post on a completely unrelated subject. Are you sure you aren't letting your emotions about blue pill taint the logic of your "arguments"?

In that case all I can say is that I'm glad there aren't too many people with your attitude, otherwise life would suck a whole lot more for everyone (including you) Is it really that hard for you to grasp the idea that if everyone treats each other with respect and basic human decency this will make things a lot better for everyone? Choosing to ignore morality might give you some short term advantage over other humans but will make things worse for humanity in general and ultimately yourself in …

Moral, Logical. Pick one. Morality is outside logic. There's some overlap, but there is much that is logical but not moral and much that is moral but not logical. So pick one. You are so incredibly wrong about this. Finding a logical basis for morality is one of the core aspects of what modern philosophy is all about and it has been done many times with different approaches. Kant's deontology, utilitarianism, the golden rule, the prisoners dilemma, the concept of a social contract are all ideas …

Moral relativism is bullshit but I'm not going to go into a deep philosophical debate with you on why that is. Suffice to say even without any religious tenants you can logically deduce some moral absolutes and TRP quite clearly violates a bunch of them. Of course, you might argue that every conversation ultimately aims to convince the other person of doing something they might not do on their own, and that's probably true, but there is still a big difference between mutually working towards som…

Well yeah that's stupid. However, there is some huge middle ground between "You don't need to do anything at all and girls will come to you" and "All women are manipulative monsters and you need to be an asshole to attract any". You need to differentiate between character and habits. You should not change your character to get a date. However stuff like basic hygene, taking care of yourself, not staying in your room all day, or doing sports aren't character traits, they are habits. "Be yourself" doesn't mean you are not allowed to change your habits. In fact if you can't get a date then trying to improve your habits is probably a good idea.

I have a lazy personality, so thats why Blue pill appeals to me. But I don't have women very excited to see me or attracted when I am lazy. That's the thing. Red Pill often seems to equate Blue Pill mentality with "You don't have to do anything, if you are a nice guy women will eventually realize that and come to you." Well, that kind of thing will rarely work. If you want to find dates, you have to be proactive. You have to put yourself into situations where you meed women, you have to overcome…

I gave you a whole list of evidence and arguments, all of which you ignored or dimissed out of hand. You gave me exactly one valid argument (the fact that self report studies can be unreliable) and this was not the basis for your original dismissal. Your original dismissal of the study was purely on the basis that it didn't match your personal experience in life (or at least you presented it to me that way) That IS antiscientific. So women judge men more harshly on dating sites because they are …

No because you hold your personal experience to such a high degree that you will dismiss even hard data against it. According to your data the boys are having more sex than the girls, which is only possible if they're having sex with older girls. No the study doesn't say that. Looking at the complete data right now (page 25 and 26) you can see that the are more men than women among those who had 1 or two partners but more women than men among those who had 3-5 or 6+ partners. AF/BB is not a controversial theory in real life. Many boys get told by their mothers that, yes, you don't have much luck with girls right now, but you're smart and you'll have a good career, so when the time comes that girls want children you'll be popular. This is AF/BB. It only becomes controversial when nerds talk about it on the internet because there are certain truths that you're not allowed to put into words even though everyone except male feminists knows that they're true. Okay so congratulations on completely missing the point on how dating sites in general are a bad model for human interaction. It doesn't matter if you take your data from tinder or OkCupid or whatever, the point is that if you take your data from a dating site, you will only ever get information on the gender dynamics of that dating site and other similar ones. Dating sites through their design completely enforce certain dynamics that are not intrinsic to normal behaviour. As for me needing more…

For fucks sake I'm sick of Tinder studies! Every single time I ask for evidence for some part of TRP theory I get a freaking tinder study as a result. (Probably the same one every time) Tinder is a horrible model for the dating market in general and here is why: The photo of a potential partner is literally the only thing you can use to decide whether to make contact or not. Despite what many redpillers say TRP at it's core is not just life advice, it has a deeply ingrained underlying worldview tied to it. In fact the only thing that makes TRP not a full blown cult is that there is no actual membership or leadership. Thus I don't think the term ideology is entirely unfounded. Ad hominem is also a fallacy, you know? As for the appeal to popularity thing, obviously everything affects you in some way what I meant was something different (which in hindsight was badly formulated I guess.) That's a bad argument. The OP specifically criticised the lack of TRP presence outside of sites like Redit, so the fact that it has more subs than r/[insert other sub name here] has very little relevance. No matter how you personally feel about TRP ideology, looking at the lack of TRP influences outside the net it's hard to qualify it as anything but a fringe internet movement.

That part of the interpretation is a bit problematic I think. You can't just decide that all men who recceived anal sex could not also have had anal sex with a woman. People in this sub really underestimate how many expectations many men have towards potential girlfriends. Most men on TRP and PPD would be happy to just have any girlfriend at all as long as she isn't super unattractive or crazy. In real life things look quite different.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/17 04:35 AM

Elsewhere? I never personally experienced something like that. Well okay, many girls don't want a boyfriend who is smaller than them but that is kind of mirrored by many guy's unwillingness to have a taller girlfriend so I can't really see an inherent unfairness there.

I think the main reason women get less flak for their unreasonable expectations is because they keep them more to themselves or even subconsious. Contrarily men who have specific expectations towards their partner often announce them to the world quite loudly.

It's bad when it's a man's main selling point. It indicates he's basically a nobody. No argument there. What sets them apart from the other friendly helpful guys? Anecdotes are more than welcomed. That would be a pretty shitty rationalisation. If it was a rationalisation I also think we should se more different false motivations. There are about a dozen different rationalizations for alcoholism or smoking but for eating disorders it's always attractiveness. That suggests it's not a rationalisation but at least part of the problem. Again, I'm not completely sure I just think it's more likely.

Genes for disorders like that generally seem to be more broad than that. For example if you have a phobia of spiders you didn't inherrit fear of spiders specifically, what you inherrited is an afinity for phobias, yours just happens to be spides. Usually it's cited as perceived. That the TRP guys genuinely think men are the best at everything Not all of them but there is definetly a significant portion holding beliefs like that. TRP unites a whole bunch of different worldviews. However I wouldn't say that most of them were born from a position of strenght. Quite the opposite actually. Most RPers I wrote with actually have or had some big problems with their love life (divorce, girlfirend broke up/cheated, lack of romantic options, being blamed of rape, or observing any of those things among friends or family) and were looking for answers. Why shouldn't we? Do you have any reason to believe these people might be lying to themselves and if so, what would ther motivation for doing so be?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/09/17 11:01 PM

Well the point is that people who have eating disorders usually give social norms and the need to feel attractiveand beautiful as their reasons. That doesn't really make sense with the hypothesis that genes just cause people to want to be thin. It would make more sense if genes are what causes the need to feel attractive and the thinness itself then comes in through social norms of what is considered attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/09/17 10:23 PM
1

I'd argue that the studies themselves work and often lead to useful data, it's the interpretation of the results where people usually go wrong (especially in this sub.) For example studies about dating behaviour on Tinder can lead to some interesting results on how the dating scene on Tinder behaves but people generalize results like that far too often.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/09/17 10:12 PM
1

I have no real evidence for this but I'd guess that even in those cases (perceived) social pressure and beauty standards still play a role. It would be kind of strange if there were genes telling people to be thin for no reason. The most likely explanation is that some genes simply make people more succeptible to judging themselves more harshly and thus feel a bigger need to comply with society's beauty standard. It would be really interesting to see whether those eating disorders already existe…

Rape laws are the only case where we go full fucking retard and assume guilt before innocence. Sorry but that is just factually untrue. I suppose if you read a lot of TRP or feminist stuff you might come to that conclusion but if you look at statistics only a small number of reported rapes ever lead to a conviction. Many more are simply dropped because there isn't enough evidence to support either narative. https://opsvaw.as.uky.edu/sites/default/files/07_Rape_Prosecution.pdf https://www.rainn.o…

People can always lie claim they were raped regardless of the drunk clause. In the end regarding this law there are only two possible alternatives. We have a law which forbids sex with people too drunk to consent and have to deal with occational false charges. /r/PurplePillDebate30/08/17 10:53 PM

I completely agree that if both parties are equally drunk it doesn't qualify as rape. However there are also more than enough men who deliberately search out drunk women (or fill them up) to have sex with them in a situation where they can't disconsent. We need laws to protect people from assholes like that.

/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/17 07:16 PM

Your argument seems to be "laws are only used justly against bad people". No my point is that if a law only exists to protect two parties from each other and both parties trust each other enough to be okay with bending it then no one is going to come in and say "Hey you, even though neither of you feels wronged in any way one of you just commited a crime against the other so I'll charge you with rape"
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/17 07:12 PM
0

Most of the time this law gets enforced it's in situations where the woman is too drunk to form a coherent sentence let alone initiate anything. Obviosly the details change from region to region but in most countries in order for the law to apply the drunk person has to be drunk enough to be considered incapable of taking responsibility for their actions. Just being tipsy, lowering your standards and sleeping with someone you would not have sex with when somber does not qualify.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/17 06:55 PM

Laws only get enforced when someone has a grievance. Having a law that forbids sex with people who are drunk doesn't mean that every man who has sex with a drunk woman automatically commits rape. Being drunk and having sex doesn't necessarily mean you are taken advantage of. People get drunk and have sex all the time and there is nothing wrong with that. All the law means is that if someone does get taken advantage off whilst drunk they have an option to press charges if they so desire. As long …

For example a 1 on the Kinsey scale means roughly "essentially hetrosexual but I'm not completely opposed to some sexual intimacy with people of my gender" The study only places 14% of 18-24 year olds on the bisexual to homosexual part of the scale. The rest is still hetrosexual…

I am rather certain that when I make eye contact with someone I can tell whether they want to continue being more intimate or show signs of distress and want me to stop. It's really not that difficult. Sex requires communication and mutual reaffirmation all the time whether it be verbal, through facial expressions, or physical contact. If you have sex and honestly don't notice they want you to stop (even without them outright telling you) then you are already doing something pretty wrong. Heck, …

Huh. Yeah you are right actually. However this means that the overall score for BP is in no possible way 4.27/10. It seems to me like the maximum possible score is actually 5. This means that 4.27 and even the overall average of 3.5 are actually pretty good scores.

Could you by any chance make evaluations that divide by both gender and pill? I find it kind of hard to read anything out of this since BP has almost 3/4 women and RP more than 2/3 men so you can't see whether specific points are different due to gender or due to pill.

I don't really know. Most of these are just aquintances. My point is that I would not really consider to question of this threat as up in the air. Being able to cheat is a direct result of the women you cheat with finding you attractive. Thus it's pretty obvious that women on average do find men who are able to cheat more attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/17 10:57 PM

Actually if I look at most of the people I know who did end up cheating, most of them were not rediculously attractive. Some were, but the majority looked pretty average.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/17 10:28 PM

The way you defined "men who are capable of cheating" it means essentially the same as "men who have a reasonable chance at finding a date". As such the answer to your question is self evident. Obviously women like men who can find a date.

For most women it will probably be just one bad experience after which they will stay away from people like that. Pretty much every person who ever dated has that one bad experience that taught them which red flags to stay away from in the future. However there seem to be a few women who seem to be really attracted to those dark types and basically stumble from one abusive relationship into the next. That does not hold true for most women though.

Dominance has many different meanings in different contexts. I'm not talking about sexual dominance as in BDSM. What I meant when I said that RP is advocating dominance is that they want to become the dominant/ decisive role in relationships and dating. It's not what all of RP is about but for example the whole DREAD game is aimed towards making your partner defer to your authority.

Biological determinism is bullshit. Men and women are different on average, but they are more alike than they are diverse. Tinder is a dating app build almost entirely around visual appeal, but pretty much every study on the subject shows that women rarely choose partners on purely visual appeal. This is an issue where personal experience holds very little value. Men are the gatekeepers of commitment Are they though? I have yet to see any proper evidence for this claim. Also you totally mixed casual sex stuff with LTRs. RP generally optimise their dating profile for casual sex without commitment. In the end it doesn't matter how or where you pick up people, as long as you optimise for casual sex you won't get anything but casual sex. You can't expect your partner to value commitment when you picked them up for casual sex.

Well it might be useful to know whether your question mostly focuses on PUA tricks (designed to pick up women) or on Dread Game (designed to push partners into becoming submissive) because the people they work on tend to be different. PUA tricks can work on all kinds of people under the right circumstances while Dread is essentially a brainwashing technique and will only work on women who already have poor self esteem to begin with.

Not only virtue ethics. Most TRP tactics are also highly immoral under utilitarian ethics because they tend to completely disregard the happiness of the woman. Okay so I live in Germany where prostitution is legal and most of them make far less money than that. A lot of our prostitutes are eastern immigrants who simply don't have any other way to legally make money here. There is also the very real issue of human trafficking for prostitution. Most prostitutes are not rich. Almost all are discontent with their job. For most of them it's just a decision between prostitution and a very bad life. Please not that I'm not for banning prostitution. Prostituti…

Can I have an example of one? A large part of the whole game idea is build upon the concept of deliberately undermining your partner's self confidence and making her feel bad about herself to improve your chances. The idea that looking down upon your partner and "reminding her of her place" is necessary for a stable relationship The aforementioned claim that women love to be lied to Breaking your partner's heart is completely okay because she is incapable of love anyway. Not at all. They have ev…

The problem is that it allows men who believe in it to justify their shitty behavior. If you believe in the whole red pill mentality it allows you to mistreat women in a whole number of ways and then avoid feeling guilty because "that's how she secretly wanted it anyway." RP a whole is designed to take the right of self determination away from women. In the end women aren't even allowed to decide whether they want to be treated a certain way, RP has already decided for them. To me this goes agai…

Women might be rare in high ranking leadership positions but that doesn't mean women in leadership positions don't exist in general. I have worked on several projects with female project leads and so far they were always perfectly competent at their job.

Well, higher taxes and general bullshit defines Dem policy. The alternative to democrats are a climate-change-denying, anti-secular and corrupt pile of ignorance who believe that tax breaks for the top 1% are the best way to improve economy. Neither of the two US parties particularly make sense but I find it hard to see how that dems could be more stupid one considering their competition. Men should have power over women because women make bad choices when they have power. Yeah, right because me…

Might be part of it but I'd argue that a far bigger factor is emotional attachment. Women generally aren't interested in sex without emotional attachment. All you really have to to come to that conclusion is look at porn. Porn directed towards men tends to be in the form of pictures and videos with a focus to anatomical details. Porn made for/by women instead usually comes in the form of erotic literature and usually spends a lot of time establishing the characters and their relationship before …

The study itself and it's results seem to be pretty legitimate but I disagree with some of your conclusions. The study was not testing for sex drive (aka the willingness to have sex in general), it was testing for willingness to have sex with a complete stranger. I believe the main reason for the discrepancy is not a difference in sex drive (although that might still exist) but a difference in the approach to sex. The most important thing most women requires before considering sex is some emotio…

What I find the most appealing is how people always seem to try to tell you what kind of sex drive you must have based on whatever personal idea of it they have. Most women have weaker sex drives than men. Some don't. Some men have weaker sex drives than other men. In the end the only person who can decide on that kind of thing is yourself. Seriously, just search a partner where you can both be happy with the amount and type of sex you have and fuck on whatever other people try to tell you.

Well that's the thing, those 2.5% are completely arbitrary. You are essentially taking the fact that women like attractive men and deriving that they have too high standards. That's not even a real chain of reasoning, that's just two very loosely connected statements. If you really wanted to test whether women have too high standards you would have to find a statistic on where women's bottom line requirements for a partner lie. Essentially the level of attractiveness, money, intelligence and oth…

Well obviously everyone has a hard limit of negative traits that you aren't willing to look past. I never claimed otherwise. Let me rephrase my point: You stated that women are overly picky since 100% of women want to date the top 2.5% of men. This is bullshit. You can just as well state that 100% of men want to date the top 2.5% of women. This doesn't mean that either gender has inflated self worth or too high standards since most people of both genders are perfectly willing to settle below the…

For different people sex is a very different thing. For some men and women sex is just fun and something they love to engage in whenever they have the time and partner. Others consider it the ultimate of love to a partner and something that should be cherished. Others just don't really care all that much about it. The point is that in the end this is up to you. The important thing is that all partners in a relationship can agree on what kind of sex they want and stick to it.

Well that statistic stuff is pure bullshit. For most people there is a very significant difference between ideal partners and dating pool. I'm a man. I would love to date a very attractive, smart woman with a perfect personality and high income. Who wouldn't? The point is that while there are qualities among females which I find attractive and which I look for in potential partners this doesn't mean they are a bullet list I check off and women don't do that either. If most women were only willin…

Look at it this way: Neonazis in most countries have no significant influence on mainstream society. That doesn't mean they can't do any harm and should just be ignored. Please not that I'm not trying to say that rp is as bad as naziism

Just because a small group has no influence on mainstream doesn't it can't still do significant harm in their own corner of society.

This is actually what historical evidence suggests. Actual bras were invented less than 200 years ago. Before that there were all kinds of different pieces clothing to keep them from dangling. Before the invention of such clothing women with very big breasts probably just didn't exist because evolution would kill them off.

Well I don't think a small group on the internet can have a big impact on society if there are no real points of contact. RP definitely doesn't have a big impact on society since the community mostly sticks to itself in a gigantic circlejerk that people outside the community are generally not all that invested in. Contrary to what you said I also don't think that /r/the_donald has a big impact/press presence. Donald Trump has and he merely takes the sub along for a ride.

If you enter any kind of relationship (romantic, friendship, professional) there is always the risk of getting hurt but without them your life will be a very sad thing. How can we be successful with anything if we don't risk failure?

Donald Trump started in real life. His fanbase on reddit is obviously just a faction of his total fanbase. However RP is something that started on Reddit. If you ask people who aren't active on reddit or in similar corners of the net about red pill they won't have any idea what you're talking about.

But doesn't this just show that relationships are in fact different and not all of them fit into an RP mentality?
