Since the dawn of language there's never been a guarantee that someone isn't going to spread your secrets around. The larger point is that you have no inherent proprietary interest to control depictions of your activities in public. You may not "like" it, but thats the way it is. I find it quite fascinating and frustrating how people are totally fine with spilling the intimate details on their private life on public social media, post compromising pics of themselves for the world to see, yet become aghast when someone takes a picture of them on the subway.
