I did not say Reddit is a boys-only club. Maybe I was unclear but I was specifically referring to a board called Mens Rights. On which, people should have a reasonable expectation they can speak freely about men's issues and the male-female dynamic. What I object to is the notion that men are misogynists that need to be constantly badgered simply because they have a board on Reddit called MensRights which occasionally has language and thoughts women disapprove of. I disapprove of the language an…

Yes, I have to agree with aetheralloy. Many women have this category in their brains called "probably gay" and men who fall in that category really do get treated differently. Even if they know the man is not gay. Many women also shame men who are not afraid of close relationships with other men. As aetheralloy mentions.

I am LGBT-friendly, but I am completely heterosexual. But because I have a philosophical soul and not given to grunting and posturing like other insecure males, I was regarded as gay growing up. I bore the brunt of homophobic jackasses (male and female - actually the girls were worse) all through high school and into college. I only escaped it when I moved to a city where there was a large gay population. I can only surmise the homophobes took their attention off of me because they had elsewhere…

I would agree the rapist is the one who is morally culpable. And I don't like it when people say things like "She's asking for it." Nobody asks to be violently attacked and forced to perform a sex act. And suggesting that needlessly complicates the issue. But on the other hand, I think it is fair to say that people should be aware of themselves, their surroundings, their associates, and make reasonable decisions. For instance I used to live near a high-crime neighborhood and knew not to walk on …

To be fair, some men are not much better but I agree, finding an awakened woman is way harder than an awakened male. Probably because the status quo works so well for them, they have no need to evolve.

I already blew my top on this issue here So I'm not going to do it again. Except to say it boggles the mind how much concerted effort there is on the part of women to control every single last thing a man does. I am just waiting until women demand the right to hold our wieners while we pee. If a group of men set up camp in the middle of Chernobyl, within three months there would be women moving in and demanding inclusion.

EDIT:I'm referring specifically to the men's rights space here. Seriously, these women just need to shut the fuck up and get the fuck over themselves. Ladies: maybe it is your dream to live in the world of 1984 envisioned by George Orwell but it is not our dream. Men have NOWHERE, absolutely NOWHERE to speak our minds in this society without fear of jackbooted tyrants like you giving us what for. The ONLY SPACE we have is the internet in places like REDDIT. And even here, you fucking Stalinists …

This doesn't surprise me at all. Tyrants like to maintain their sense of superiority by forbidding your participation and then blame you for not participating.

Fair enough. I have never had a woman withdraw consent in the middle of sex either but I have heard it does happen. So to conclude the argument, if a woman consents to you or I, uttering the shibboleth accepting our plunge, she shall be fully taken with pleasure from our golden-knobbed righteousness throughout the act. Right on.

I'd rather a man pat me down. We've both got the same naughty bits so it's not like there's any mystery. I'm a hetero guy btw.

I am looking at it from the perspective of a male who is aware of the privilege women have in these cases. That is, in any kind of threatening situation between me and a female, the odds are stacked against me if law enforcement gets involved. Therefore, if a woman attacks or threatens me, I have to stay away from her. It's not that I automatically think she is an evil person. It may have just been a one-time thing. But I can't take that chance, or next time I could very likely be taken to jail …

Some women may be okay with this but most would be worried you're going to turn around and put it on the internet. I don't blame them. I would think twice about doing a girl with her camera running unless I knew her really well. Niceidea's audio recording is a good idea though.

There have been men prosecuted for rape when the woman consents, and then withdraws consent during the sex act.

Because accused rapists are perceived as "guilty until proven innocent" in the eyes of society, law enforcement, and the courts. And even after they're proven innocent, they're still perceived as guilty by society.

As a man, I vouch for that being a fair and justified definition of creepy. The creepiest experience I've had from a woman was at a Target when a disheveled lady with crazy eyes approached me telling me she was "horny" and "on the pill."

Fair enough. But I am curious as to how "Unreported rapes" are estimated. Because it would seem to me that our anti-male culture and anti-male law enforcement would have major incentive to make it APPEAR as if rape was a way huger problem than it is through the use of unreliable "Dark statistics."

The women are at war, and a whole lot of men are on their side. That's the fucked up thing about it, and why tactics like MGTOW, though frustratingly slow, are a better option.

That's the point i'm trying to make. I looked at the RAINN statistics on their website, they only offer an unlinked reference to a US DOJ report for where their unreported rape statistic came from. I pointed out to elr that if her argument is based on unreported rape claims, than we cannot safely make as reliable of conclusions from it. Probably not a hall of fame piece of rhetoric on my part, but I cannot find anything online that addresses how numbers of unreported rapes are arrived at.

Yes, that is my problem with it to. It's not only the FRAs, it's the assumption that every man is a potential rapist so if she said he did it than he must have. And I don't see any logic to the argument that a few dudes posting stories about FRAs on Reddit is so damaging to actual rape victims. That doesn't make any sense.

"Blaming all women and feminism for false rape accusations is the same faulty logic of blaming all men for rapes." Well, you said it right there. The majority of women may not believe "all men are rapists" but they don't ever speak against that assertion either. Every time i hear about how the US has a "rape culture" and see women across the country nodding in agreement, I know that agreement comes from feminism. Therefore, I think it's fair to claim feminism creates a "false rape culture" and i…

Does anyone have an explanation of why "unreported rape" statistics are unreliable? I found data online about the unreliability of "unreported crime" statistics which I am talking to elr about but I'd like to be able to find something specific to rape.
/r/MensRights13/11/10 06:22 PM

I didn't address the FBI statistic because that statistic is not citing a specific number of unreported crimes. A rape accusation that is made, whether true or false, counts as a reported crime. Unreported rapes delve into the area of "dark statistics" (the actual term used) and everything i've found on unreported crime estimates is that they are unreliable and highly politicized. So, they could be even worse than RAINN statistics. Or better.
/r/MensRights13/11/10 06:07 PM

Actually, I'm not trivializing rape. I'm saying that I don't understand how a specific number of unreported rapes could be cited. It seems to me that rape is horrible enough when we contemplate actual rapes that are reported, rather than "dark statistics" such as an estimation of rapes that are never reported.

"According to RAINN, of 200 rapes, 60 are reported. 40 of those go to trial, and 12 are convicted and serve jail time." I appreciate your efforts at a fair & balanced argument, but the veracity of RAINN's claim "of 200 rapes, 60 are reported" is highly suspect. How would they know about the rapes, if they weren't reported? What evidence does RAINN use to back up the claim that of 200 rapes, 140 go unreported? What methodology is RAINN using to unearth facts about rapes that aren't reported to po…

The systematic tragedy about Elvis sightings is that the vast majority of them go unreported. You cannot base a fact on a lack of facts. That claim is just silly. Rape is a terrible crime that every decent man and woman should be disgusted by. False rape accusations waste police resources that could be used to catch actual criminals. Not to mention ruining the lives of innocent men. If you want to claim FRAs are rare, show us the facts. I'll read and consider them thoroughly. But whether they're…

"We all know women have been degraded in the past but in todays culture" No, we don't all know that. I believe you are well-intentioned. But the fact of the matter is, the brutish men have zillions of women lining up around the block to spend time with them. Whenever I hear a woman say "Brutish men are EVIL" I know she is saying "Brutish men are EVIL, and incredibly hot, and he really was great in bed last night." Also, the minute you start trying to keep a woman, you are quadrupling your chances she will cheat on you or leave you. I know not all women are like that, but nearly all are.

I don't know. In my experience modern women are terrible nurturers when it comes to the way they treat boys (and men) and this is borne out through scientific research. I believe a woman's natural nurturing instinct has been skewed by feminist indoctrination to double down on "the Sisterhood" and systematically starve men of care and nurturing.

Palin is a Female Supremacist from head to toe. The GOP will die if they think their path to electoral victory comes from the momma grizzlies. Qualified conservatives like Rand Paul and Rubio did well last week. The momma grizzlies like O'Donnell and Angle didn't. As was said elsewhere online, the GOP's toughest challenge in 2012 will be to marginalize Palin's influence without pissing off her core followers.

You make some good points and I think we're on the same page. But countless examples throughout history show that men understand women better than they understand themselves. After all, men have created the lion's share of Literature, the arts, music, philosophy, some psychological theories, and Game that have women all figured out. When women create things about Female nature, it usually comes out as fodder for Oprah or the Oxygen Network. (I know there are exceptions.)

I think you're giving her way too much credit. And even if we gave her the benefit of the doubt (a mistake) what she is suggesting is not anywhere close to being workable. Women don't know what women want. Women have all the "empowerment" they've ever wanted and they're more miserable than ever. According to multiple studies. So how are women supposed to "help" men learn what women want?

Have women ever thought to consider that if their constant nagging and social experimentation doesn't work, then maybe its THEIR fault? That maybe the "brutish, unevolved" man is actually too evolved to give a crap about her Oprah-inspired whims? Smart men know the minute they start changing for a woman is the minute she will start to lose her attraction to him.

One would have to be a real sicko to think that attitude is caring. Caring, given the circumstances, would be "Wow, I've come to realize that Feminism has really beat the shit out of men and given them a government-enforced inferior position in our society? How can I, as a woman who supposedly cares about equality (giggle giggle) rectify that?"

Insulting, condescending, hypocritical. I take comfort in knowing HuffPost doesn't pay writers jack. Men do not need a new manual. Men are the ones who evolve technology and culture. Always have been. Women are still the same dimwitted solipsistic collectivists they have been since the beginning of time. The difference is, the Powers That Be have realized that it is useful to empower dimwitted collectivists when they are looking to destroy a culture. "What Women Want" changes as fast as changing…

Debating feminists is like debating with water to keep it from running downhill. It's just not even possible. Feminism is their faith, their religion, and largely the core of their identity. You'll have an easier time converting a member of the Taliban to Wicca.
