3	Disturbing Experience I Had With The Empathy Gap This is true. I had a friend in the Marines and we talked about it. He said the same, demoralizing. Because even as a soldier the men would feel the need to protect her. And then there's the other fact that say she's wounded, mortally so, and they put more time trying to save her lost life than a male soldier because of the empathy gap. Triage would get skewed.
