I don't think that's because we're genetically predisposed to being witty, it's solely because, as men, we are more reliant on a solid personality. I mean it doesn't really matter, if she's close and you're making eye contact you can just go for the make out. It's generally pretty easy to know when a girl wants you to kiss her, as she'll stare into your eyes and generally be pretty close to your face. And if you go for the kiss and get denied then you can smoke the hookah with less anxiety about the potential kiss anyway.
