If you close on that house, then you're going to lose it in the inevitable divorce a few years from now.

You need to mentally prepare for the meltdown she is going to have the day of the flight. That plane ticket means nothing to her. It's just someone else's commitment with someone else's money. She's going to pull out every trick in the book to ensnare you again, she'd happily miss the flight. Don't buy into it.

This isn't just a "men are predators" thing. There's also this bizarre idea floating around that the world has gotten way, way more dangerous when the opposite is true. Like the parents who almost lost their kids for letting them walk to the park alone.

I'm literally the same way and years older than you. Count your progress using visible tone, new challenges you can reach, etc. Don't think only about mass, you'll get very frustrated by the naturally slower progress. You can get gains, they'll just take longer.

Just get yourself out of that situation. Anyone who tries to own you though your pity and guilt will be dead weight in your life. Talk to her when you want to, on your terms. Judge her like you would any other person. If one of your acquaintances pulled that, what would you think? Being just isn't always fun.

You didn't ask to be born. Giving a child life is a wonderful thing, but the parent can't unilaterally say 'you owe me' when you could have no choice in the matter.

I'll defer to the other guy when it comes to Herodotus versus Thucydides. You can point out the parallels, but the reason they'll both be failures isn't because they were forced on faster than their natural pace, whatever that may be. They're failures because the ideas are logically incorrect.

True, good catch, but despite tripping up on my terms, I think the point still stands. They're not going to fail because they're not following Marx perfectly, but rather because they're following him too closely.

Today's feminism and Marxism are comparable because they share fundamental ideas (collectivism) and tactics (class warfare). You misunderstand how Marxist theories would actually work, though your prediction that postmodern feminism will fail to bring about equality is correct. It'll just lead to a small group of women getting power solely because they're women. Socialism cannot lead to Marx's Utopian communism. The means undercut the ends. In order to establish socialism, Marx says you need a d…

So much great stuff in this thread. The motives behind these two people are important. Man #1 loves life and wants to enjoy every aspect that appeals to him in the full. Man #2 is looking for validation from anyone, primarily women who might sleep with him.

You can imagine him as that. You know what she is. Know the difference, do the right thing.

Social justice warriors are receptive to hard data Receptive? No. They're vulnerable to it. Their arguments are susceptible to it.

The risk here is tremendous, but I have had and seen rewarding LTRs. In every case, you see a few common features: She's independent. Doesn't need his constant doting. Has her own hobbies, interests and career. You can reason with her. She is intellectually challenging, meaning she makes you think about her points, not how to get around or past her feels. Does things for you and herself, not as a display for her friends and family.

This and the OP are great. I'm new to this entire community, and though I had worked through many of these truths on my own, it's awesome to see so many people discussing them openly. Most of all, I've been impressed by the unapologetic zero-fucks-given attitude towards the whiners who dominate our culture. Thanks for creating this, I hope to add to it going forward.

If you're going to take anything from Rand on this, watch the whole 40 minute interview and think about the political and philosophical implications as a whole. You don't need to get into the bullshit gender politics of it all. Rand was mostly saying that a world where no men would be qualified to be president would be a sad place. Look at Clinton's phony selflessness for the public interest, which only masks power lust. Look at the failed policies she supports. After all, the whole point of thi…

You missed one point: doing this makes it illicit. Mischievous. Sneaking away with something. It's charming in that troublemaker sort of way. She hears: Hey, the sex we have will be risky. Obviously this isn't foolproof, it only works sometimes. You need to make sure that you're not coming across as a pussy.

This is where you're right. The fact that people need to act strongly for themselves, though, is more important than faking it to get a lay from someone gullible enough to buy it. Make yourself into a great person. That will attract other people, then you can decide if that's what you want.
