It's no one's job to detain their assailant. Grabbing a violent creature intent on your harm and holding them near you is a lot more risk to your well-being than striking and neutralizing. I'm not going to cuddle a rabid animal just because I'm bigger.

Are you serious? The Flash could make it so they were never born in the first place.

800,000 active duty officers in the US and an average of 163 die per year. That's 0.01%. Quite literally one of the safest jobs in the world. They don't have to worry about shit.

Were you not the one who brought up the race of both participants? So what does that make you?

This whole thread is a cesspool of thinly veiled racism and sexism. Willfully ignoring that the officer handled everything poorly besides "he should've been man enough to shoot her first."

What are you basing this off of? Wanna compare police deaths to covid or even flu deaths the previous year? Over 2/3s of cop deaths last year were from covid-19, and a large amount of the rest were not on duty/aggression related either.

multiple drugs Like a fucking g of weed that's not even illegal everywhere in the country and shouldn't be. No, he shouldn't be arresting or assaulting her over it, especially since she was pulled over while they were searching for someone else (he immediately should've sent her on her way when he realized the "target" wasn't present). And if someone started attacking you like that and you thought you were about to die, you'd shoot too.

No, not really. This is bonkers and not reflective of any real movement. Really sorry you experienced it, though. If you know what local college it is, I would consider reporting them. But, anxiety. So I understand if you don't.

I just don't think drafting anyone is a good idea. The draft won't be abolished until it looms over everyone of age, though.

Agreed, the crazy high amount is where things get real fishy.

I'm not disagreeing with the "benefits of a relationship" part, but your comparison does actively ignore the "being out of the workforce for almost 20 years" part. It's not the same and anyone who has ever been employed/job hunting knows that.

Play stupid games, ya know. If you want to buy sex, employ the professionals. I'm not sure exactly what fish you'd expect with cash as your only bait.

I mean, he paid her bills and supported her kids, so she quit her career. Idk if you've ever tried getting a job with even a short gap in your resume, but almost 20 years out of the workforce does put you at a significant disadvantage.

It hasn't, though. Skepticism is an intrical part of justice and criminal judgement.

No one mentioned being overweight in what I was replying to, though. And overweight people can be diabetic too, especially type 2. Preaching about anything is annoying, including you being upset at other people's meal choices. If anyone sounds offended here, it's you.

Or people are diabetic or sugar intolerant or any number of reasons to not want to have sugar or drink their calories but still want to have a big mac every now and then? I'm severely underweight but also have extreme pain and diarrhea from ingesting sugar. So if I have a big mac (haven't in 2 years), it will absolutely be with a diet coke or water.

Didn't. Got your point. Just had nothing to say about it but a comment to make about the quote. Sorry again.

Dude, I was just commenting on the quote you referenced. Really not trying to get your money. Promise.

So, wait, you don't want to be a good person because you're afraid other people aren't good people and you don't want to be the only one?

Holy shit. I went and read that. You handled that incredibly maturely, but holy shit. Their argument was basically: "All men's rights activists are just hating women and I can assume that because you're men. But just because you've seen women's rights activists hate men it's justified and you can't assume we're all like that either ok." I consider myself a women's rights activist. But what the actual fuck.

Just wanting to be a voice of reason here. I think what they're trying to get at is: a compliment from someone you aren't attracted to doesn't suddenly make it an insult, and insulting someone back who has just complimented you is just a hurtful thing for humans to do to each other. I don't think anyone (besides the people who jumped to insulting you which is clearly no better and a real stupid way to make a point) is telling you that mistreatment, creepy behavior, and stalking is supposed to be…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
