I'm new here, and the only reason I found this subreddit was due to the hate it was receiving elsewhere. I looked at the top posts from all time and fell in love with it immediately. I think the hate comes from some of the newer people that come here who are just in an angry "All women are evil" phase. Most likely due to recent relationship problems, and they feel this is a place to come and vent those frustrations.

I feel that it has a similar dynamic to religion in general. When someone is raised their entire life to believe the world is a certain way, they feel threatened and lash out when those beliefs are questioned. Especially when those questions are based on arguments supported by facts, and logic. No one wants to believe everything they have thought to be true is in fact just nonsense. It takes a very strong willed person to even consider opposing views after being indoctrinated since childhood.
