A vacation to nowhere is always better than a guilt trip. Leave it in the rear view mirror. You’re in a good place now, especially with a new relationship and you seem happy. The only route now is forward. If you must deal with your ex because of kids, then just focus on the kids and otherwise ‘Gray Rock’ the ex.

Smart move. If you decide to see her, I wouldn’t pop in unannounced. I’m engaged to be married too and if I were in your shoes, I would definitely tell my fiancée about this. Tough decision…it’s one that you must make on your own and live with the consequences. And, as difficult as it may be, only do this if your ex wants it. Be careful not to do it for your own selfish reasons.

Also, make absolute sure that you are not receiving any paper bank statements or any other paper correspondence sent through the postal mail that she could open. (Yes, it would be a federal crime, but you still don’t want her seeing it.). Also, make sure she does not have any access (usernames, passwords) to any of your financial portals.

In addition, as OP mentioned about having a good job, if your employer offers a 401k, take advantage of it, especially if there is an employer-match. One of the things I did as I was rebuilding, was figured out my budget, and then increased my 401k contributions to as much as I could afford. After a few paychecks, you get accustomed to not having the money, and if, you ever get into a bind, you can adjust.

…or give her a child. Read that 10 more times. It includes her tricking you into a child you might not want. Wear a raincoat always.

This. If you have a joint account with your stbxw, run to the bank now. The majority of joint accounts are 100% ownership by both parties. 100%, not 50%. So, you can take all of it.

And, grey rock. Google it. It’s essential. Do not let her or her family get you into any arguments or dialogues. Be on alert for anything to be said or done by your ex, but don’t get caught up in the emotions of it. And, especially do not post anything on Social Media. Work on yourself. Get a good lawyer, get a good therapist, and make sure your kids are okay and safe. Do not discuss any of this with them. Good luck. It may be rough at times, but take care of you and your kids.

Exactly. Stop looking for pictures and updates about her.

If you think you’re 50/50 about it, answer this. How do you think things will be improved if you take her back? How long will it last? If you don’t have definitive answers that you feel solid about, don’t do it, bro. And, please factor your kids into the equation as well. They don’t need any more disruption.

Yep. And, do not take her back when she comes crawling after her AP ends it with her. She’s testing out the waters to see if she can hook up with someone else and when it doesn’t work out, she’ll be back. But here’s where you’re smarter than that. If she’s done it once, there’s no stopping her from doing it again. Grey Rock her starting now. Lawyer up. Work on you.

Funny, how you avoid the subject. The truth hurts and you can’t bear the fact that your “mama’s boy” son is going to move out, get married, and love someone else. Who… happens to be Jewish, for whatever the fuck that matters. You are a hater.

Why does it fucking matter that they are of different religions? What does that have to do with anything about your son and his fiancée in your post about the money?? If the tables were reversed, you’d be bitching that she was marrying him for his “Jewish (?)” money. WTH is wrong with you? Except that you’re so controlling over your 30 yo son.
/r/Divorce_Men19/09/21 11:56 AM

OP, WtGDF does being Jewish have to do with anything? And, if they choose to celebrate the Jewish holidays, WTH do you care??!? What “key point” are you really trying to “encapsulate” here? Why don’t you TRUTH UP and explain that it doesn’t really have anything to do about the money. After all, you said it yourself that your son “makes great money in his field”. You don’t want your precious son marrying a Jewish woman. “They don’t want kids”. “Fine by me”. Yep, I guess so (not that it is even yo…
