| -1 | Another Perspective on the Wage GapI'm not stating my point very well, what you call liberal media outlets are really pretty centrist but anything that is not in lock-step with the GOP is considered leftist in this country, so a newspaper run by one of the world's biggest capitalist is considered a leftwing rag...there is no left wing media in the USA - shit there isn't even a left wing party. The Democratic Party today is a centrist party compared to the rest of the world. Outside of LGBT rights and abortion, the Democratic Part… | /r/PussyPassDenied | 13/04/17 08:56 AM |
Another Perspective on the Wage GapThe wage gap in the way people with that specific agenda try to spin it does not exist While it may not be anywhere near as high as 30%, even if it's only 5% or 7%, it exists and thankfully it is much smaller than it was decades ago; well done, America. And, quite frankly, a man who is so dedicated to his work that he will never take any leave whatsoever and puts in a ton of effort deserves higher earnings, anyway Wow this reads like a fucking employer's pamphlet to me, we are such tools of the … | /r/PussyPassDenied | 13/04/17 06:00 AM
Another Perspective on the Wage GapAnd it's also no men's fault if a woman chooses to drop out of the workforce for 5 years to pop out some kids Thank goodness they do or folks like you and me wouldn't exist. Today is Equal Pay Day. Why are so many people against that? Why do you need to parse it so much? When we have No Kill Day, do you come out and argue in favor of war, self defense, etc?? We all realize that there is nuance to everything, but you act like people are saying the wage gap today is the same as it was in 1950; nop… | /r/PussyPassDenied | 13/04/17 03:59 AM
Another Perspective on the Wage GapThat's just simple supply and demand | /r/PussyPassDenied | 13/04/17 03:52 AM
Another Perspective on the Wage GapI'm not smart enough to know if /u/Imbenjaminghazi is right or wrong, but since you agreed I will assume he's correct. TIL smart fish live in think tanks and the wage gap is a total myth and never existed | /r/PussyPassDenied | 13/04/17 03:46 AM
| -1 | Another Perspective on the Wage Gapliberal think tank Do these exist? In the context of a think tank, the conservative think tanks are funded by the corporations who's interest they lobby to benefit, obviously in a much more convoluted and roundabout way. The opposition to that would be some flavor of socialism or communism would it not? Who would fund a think tank designed to help the people gain more power? I just don't think this works in our society. I think it's the same reason that there is a treasure trove of right wing ta… | /r/PussyPassDenied | 13/04/17 03:43 AM |
Another Perspective on the Wage GapOk so the wage gap has become a politicized topic and like many other things in our world, we don't even agree on the facts of the matter so it makes debating corrective action very complicated. With that being said, here is my understanding of people's position: Position #1 - Your position essentially and I think the goal of the Lily Ledbetter legislation unless I'm mistaken Position #2 - People who argue the wage gap doesn't exist. Is there some third position where people are asking us to pay… | /r/PussyPassDenied | 13/04/17 03:38 AM
"Men are whimps", says Daily Show on male birth control side effectsThank you...it was a fucking comedy piece. They took the headline and ripped it apart. I laughed. | /r/MensRights | 11/11/16 12:10 AM
Jesus, when my paycheck is $2700 and $2676 goes to my ex, there is something seriously fucking wrongSure, but your example is a total outlier...considering you're 80 and eligible for Social Security and have a shortened lifespan this guy would still be getting fucked worse. I don't believe it | /r/MensRights | 31/10/16 06:51 AM
Jesus, when my paycheck is $2700 and $2676 goes to my ex, there is something seriously fucking wrongWhat!?! Think about what you are saying and then get back to me. Alimony is never 50% of your income. Never, ever, ever, ever. | /r/MensRights | 30/10/16 04:20 AM
Jesus, when my paycheck is $2700 and $2676 goes to my ex, there is something seriously fucking wrongFair enough, but imagine for a second that someone making $3k per month, why in the world would alimony be $1,500? Two kids on $35k per year is about $400 per month in child support. | /r/MensRights | 30/10/16 03:36 AM
Jesus, when my paycheck is $2700 and $2676 goes to my ex, there is something seriously fucking wrongI'm sorry to hear that | /r/MensRights | 30/10/16 03:35 AM
Jesus, when my paycheck is $2700 and $2676 goes to my ex, there is something seriously fucking wrongLeaving out details? Maybe he gets six figure annual bonuses or something?? I mean for two kids to get $1,500 in child support the total income between them is definitely in the six figures, and the fact that the wife is getting $1,500/mo in alimony tells me she's not pulling the majority of that in. | /r/MensRights | 29/10/16 08:07 PM
Jesus, when my paycheck is $2700 and $2676 goes to my ex, there is something seriously fucking wrongYou're getting downvoted because there are two kids involved. Also, OP is also leaving out some details. I would assume it's something like this: OP was making $10k/mo - child support awarded and alimony awarded for 3 years or whatever. OP now makes like $6k/mo but after taxes, health insurance, 401k/IRA contributions, stock options at work, etc, etc his take-home is about $3k per month. That's the only way this math makes any sense at all. In reality, at least where I'm from, as long as you are… | /r/MensRights | 29/10/16 08:05 PM
Jesus, when my paycheck is $2700 and $2676 goes to my ex, there is something seriously fucking wrongAre you kidding? I hope so. Prenups are for people with assets. That is less than 1 out of 10 Americans. When it comes to child support a prenup doesn't mean shit, and for the most part the same goes with alimony. The benefit of a prenup is that if you have assets you can negotiate ahead of time a pre-agreed settlement -- but doing so when you're just starting a family is absolutely retarded -- you have nothing to agree to or worry about splitting. | /r/MensRights | 29/10/16 08:02 PM
Jesus, when my paycheck is $2700 and $2676 goes to my ex, there is something seriously fucking wrongIt should be extremely temporary though I have to give credit to the courts. I've seen over the last 20 years major changes and recently I've seen as many fathers get primary custody as mothers, and I've seen alimony that was probably low. For example, wife doesn't work - married 5 years, husband makes $75k per year - no kids. Alimony of $400/mo for 3 years. My buddy went to hear and offered here $6k up-front and she took it. | /r/MensRights | 29/10/16 08:00 PM
Jesus, when my paycheck is $2700 and $2676 goes to my ex, there is something seriously fucking wrongI'm sorry bro - that sucks. My buddy has four kids and makes about $300k per year and he only gives her $3k per month. Someone is getting fucked | /r/MensRights | 29/10/16 07:57 PM
