You may or may not realize it, but you are setting yourself up with a great mindset doing that. You might not be using margin, but if you are, here is how that mindset helps: -margin has a 1:2 ratio (cash account= 100 shares; margin= 200 shares) -the doubling of purchasing ability results in doubling of risk -(where the mindset comes in) the use of half purchasing power mitigates the doubling of risk by resulting in an effective 0.5:1 ratio (use of half balance: amount of risk= 1=normal risk. Wh…

If you know your goal exit for consistent targets for your strategy and rules is 3%, then have you considered profit taking exits? They are used to eliminate emotion from trades and it is easier to use them if a goal number, such as 3%, is already known. That would effectively automate your trading plan from the exit part of the trade on the gain side and allow you to do other things without being glued to the screen. If you tied in alerts to it for downside mitigation, then you have both sides …

Better Bachelor on his Youtube actually did a video over this exact topic of following the hierarchy of needs as a bachelor. For those interested, that video is here.

I separated this out into two posts since the first one I made was big. Since you are potentially moving to Texas: -Look at suburbs 1 hour-ish away from work hubs like Austin/Dallas/ETC. This is enough distance in terms of time to make the job travel not as bad, and at the same time not have as big of an impact on housing cost. Of the 3 locations you mentioned, Corpus, Dallas, and Houston: Houston-bad crime rate. I would avoid if it was me as I did not consider a college in the city due to t…

So, below are the common places that are talked about: Arlington-Six Flags is fun when it is open. If it the Summer Hurricane Harbor is fun. Galveston-Primary Texas port if cruising (not suggested at the moment) Houston-.....not very good crime rate on a normal day. I suggest driving straight through to be honest. Dallas-Pretty much the hub of North Texas in terms of jobs and technology. An attraction here when Six Flags is closed/packed that is common for events is the Dallas Arboretum -The c…

So, an example (using expenses): The FIRE movement is essentially to limit risk if something occurs. If something occurs, the movement tries to build enough of passive income (described below) to still pay obligations that way life of the person doing it continues as is despite whatever occured or is going on in the world. Example on how the person is on the FIRE path: 1.you add up all your required payments for: utilities, housing, student loans if applicable, etc. Definitions: there are two …

How hard is it to buy land? Genuinely curious as I hope to build a house once my student loans are mostly paid off. I heard on different no income tax state websites that Wyoming has no state income tax, in case that helps. I am slowly working towards FIRE myself, because in school they let you pay in the interest on the student loans. Can't work on the net worth part until those are paid off though :/
