When they indicate that they don’t care about you anymore.

It’s all step parents, not just dads. I would do your best to not take it personally. For one, most teenagers hate their parents as they are trying to be independent. So regardless of the situation, you wouldn’t be seeing much of them anyway. Second, their brains are not developed fully. Thirdly, when it develops, there will be a time when they realize the love, support, mentorship, fatherhood that you provided was genuine and the will come back around. Keep sending birthday cards, merry Christm…

Pretty sure kids start speaking for themselves in court around 14. If they don’t like it, they can testify where the want to go.

I’m in your position and while I have not executed, I plan to hire someone regularly. Type in your city and nanny group into Facebook and see who is there. Lots of people posting on mine. Gonna interview a few and then have them come over and get to know my child. If all goes well, you got yourself a sitter on occasion. Probably smart to get to know a few as they might not be available she you need them as you are not hiring them full time. But if you don’t have family close, what other option d…

Is there no other schedule or is that standard for the industry? Does that 24hrs include any scheduled rest?

I don’t know what “24/72” is, but I have a non standard schedule and am fighting for 50/50. Its not uncommon for their to be carveouts for for people with odd schedules that make it possible for 50/50. Doctors, railroad workers, aviation workers, firefighters, etc. just because they are successful professionally doesn’t mean they are bad parents and can’t manage 50/50 parent time.

You come here with “how to” questions and you can’t even read your own paperwork?

Disability isn’t calculated as divorce income. If you get any sort of disability check from the military, should be protected. Edit: this is wrong. Disability cannot be split as an asset in a divorce, but can be used as income to support a dependent. I assumed that because it wasn’t eligible for asset division, that it wasn’t eligible for child support income. I was wrong.

I was in a similar situation. Ex wife had the new SUV, I drove a 14yr old beater with 150+k miles. The value of the car is irrelevant. You need to be asking “what does she want?”. Not because you are there to please her, but because whatever she wants is likely reasonable and as stated by others, it doesn’t matter. If you can live with her getting both vehicles because they are both in her name, the try and get that matter settled though written agreements and move on. Start shopping online for …

I would file for divorce and temporary orders for custody. Her lie with the AF won’t last. Let it come out instead of pressing the issue.

You say don’t stew over stuff but prepare for the avalanche. Those seem like the same thing to me. Can you elaborate?

Not a lawyer. If your concerned about the sell of the house, has her put in writing that you guys will split any proceeds 50/50, or however you prefer to split. Then, when the house is under contract with a seller, you give that contract to the title company along with the bank account you want your proceeds to go into. When it comes time to close, the closing paperwork will be filled out appropriately. When she complains, tell her to handle it with the title company. The title company has lawye…

Similar situation. I offered 50% and now she’s making false accusations to the police and trying to get 80/20 with our child to get more child support.

My attorney literally told me that until either you have chosen to move out and the court ordered one of you out, that anyone on title could hire a locksmith and have them break into their own home. The police will not stop you.

Well, it’s my understanding that payments structured by courts are amendable through either agreeance between the parties or through the courts and that the courts will apply adjustments based on updated circumstances. So, should your wife lose her job and you owe her alimony and then you lose your job, you would go back to court and say things have changed and therefore other things should change(alimony). It’s the same process people go through to raise/lower child support or reduce debt payme…

It’s the same as a prenup, just after you are already married.

Yeah, you indemnified her of liabilities once she vacates. Has she vacated? You are liable for the house. You have a responsibility to buy her out. Once you fail at that, she can start bitching to the court about where her money is at. Barring that, all liabilities pertaining to the house are yours once she leaves. Police should agree. It’s a free phone call and they get them all the time. In my experience, they actually welcome proactively.

Not a Lawyer. But I would call your non emergency police dispatch line and ask them. They will likely forward your call to a cop. But tell them your situation and “can I trespass her?” They will likely say it depends on what your divorce orders say, but if they gave you the rights to live there and not her, then they will likely tell you yes that you can trespass her. Don’t buy the “making sure you are keeping it up” BS. It doesn’t matter. Especially if the court determined a price they you got …

Here’s what lawyers do, they huff and they puff and they say we are gonna fo XYZ and then the other side does something else to mess it all up and they hope that you don’t ask “did you know that was going to happen?” You serve her 10 days before TO hearing and then she will find ANY attorney who will ask for an extension and they will get it because…of course they will. And honestly, they deserve the time to prepare. My ex got sold a dream by her attorney, and frankly still is getting sold a dre…

I’m going through it right now and I told her I wanted a divorce, then she filed. I will say it’s nice to see their complaints in the petition first and be able to respond to them. With that said, my wife’s complaints are very shallow and not really provable or valuable…at least I think. But whatever gets written down in her complaint/petition, or motions for Temporary orders, or anything, you get to respond too and vice versa. I imagine that the petitioning side gets to respond to my responses …

HELOC, refinance your car if you have equity there, other liquid assets like stocks could be sold. Some life insurances’ have borrowing aspects, borrow money from family, make payments to her, 0%interest credit cards(only if you have the means to pay them off quickly. Signature loans.
