I bet Reddit will remove them so fast though since it’s bad publicity to the platform

Wow that sub should be submitted to the news

Yikes on him. Life on earth is so quick and mostly pointless. What makes it all worth it is all those little occasions to celebrate and be surrounded by friends and love ones. He can continue to go through life letting it all pass by him with that attitude

Good job. It’s not about the gift, it’s not even about the birthday. But it’s about his lack of efforts to you, and lack of any concerns to your feelings. Your SO is supposed to be on your same team, and support you. He can’t even be nice to you so there’s little long term value ahead for him as your life partner

I have met this type of couple once. They’re together for 10 years or more and she had to beg him to get a ring. He gave her a shut up ring. And this guy flirts with alllll the younger girls behind her back, me included. She’s a good looking educated high power earning woman too. She can so much better but she doesn’t realize it. Pretty sure he strings her along because it elevates their lifestyle due to their combined household income. The guy thinks he’s all that but it’s just really disgustin…

To have to beg someone to marry you? Hard pass. Even if they are married, how good could that relationship be for her if she had to beg him to marry her. It’ll show up in many ways during their marriage. When he suddenly meets the one he’s starstruck for he will dump her like yesterday bread

We make a great team. Life is much better and easier for both of us every since our union. Our quality of life went way up, we’re able to do everything we want together and live a pretty good life. Our heath improved too since we got married, stress level is down, we both eat better. Having good and frequent sex is good for the soul and body as well. Good communication, no bitterness or jealousy. Especially in this quarantine period, having each other makes the quarantine not that bad at all. We…

Not a big problem, they should have had to put in efforts for a good amount time to earn your commitment. If by then they’re not serious about you then good riddance. At least you made it harder for them to hurt you. Most LVM would be filtered out quickly though

You really should be more worried if he only likes you because you’re pretty. People grow old and ages, if the only thing he values in you is your look then your relationship will not have a happy ending in the future. Even if you are not pretty enough, which I doubt is true, it is a good thing and a good filter for LVM who is superficial. In conclusion, so what if you’re not pretty, your value as a person and a partner is so much more than a body that will age with time. Your life long partner …

You get to decide what you like, he gets to decide what he likes. If he can’t compromise with you then it’s time to move on and find someone more compatible. It’s simple. No need to reason with anyone why you don’t think watching porn is acceptable. You get to have your nonnegotiable values in your partner too. If watching porn is your nonnegotiable then don’t change your mind just to placate people. Dick is abundant, take your time

We really shouldn’t care about what this loser say or thinks. Good men will court women, will appreciate your presence, no need to worry about trash men who don’t. The less you care about them the better, they are irrelevant

Most of the successful men do not even fuck around with broke, unambiguous and uneducated women left alone marrying them. Most people marry within their income and social circle. Bill Gates didn’t marry a waitress. Steve Jobs definitely didn’t marry a cashier. Success are attracted to success, don’t bet on being Cinderella

Appearance, wealth, basic manners are superficial. Ethics, disciplines, his respect for himself and others, his thoughtfulness and foresightedness, and especially his kindness to you, those are the important aspects of who he is and what makes him high value. Applies to both genders really

Wanting commitment is ok. How he’s going about it is weird. I set the tone pretty early on back in my dating days that I am looking for serious relationships leading to marriage only. No weird passive aggressive comments or roundabout it

With interest being 0%, paying in cash post 10k mark means you’re losing out in investment opportunities cost. On avg annually we get about 10%-15% investment gain. So putting that 10k cash into a ring you lose out 1k a year on opportunity cost. Same logic on every item out there now with low interest rate

Some rings out there cost as much as a new car, so if that’s the kind of ring OP wants probably a payment plan would be in order. Paying in cash would just be silly at that price tag. But again, it’s more about why he wouldn’t get get the ring and maybe the value of the ring has something to do with it

Honey, don’t do this. I’m guessing this is not the first time he did this to you either. Remember, if you ever have to wonder if he cares about you, he doesn’t. Cut your losses ahead of time before you waste even more time with him

Mmmhhh, I’m conflicted on this. On one hand it’s a yellow flag that he wouldn’t want to get a ring you want that you are wearing for the rest of your life. On the other hand, my fiscal responsibility doesn’t like wasting that much money on a ring, so depends on the amount. BUT my husband was willing to take a payment plan on whatever (emphasis on whatever) ring I wanted. I just didn’t want him to have to do that. You can only control your actions and reactions, not others’s. Realize what you want, and respect your own needs before others. Life is selfish, don’t play martyrs. We only have duty toward the ones who care about us and took care of us, not random men, or women. Be kind when you want, but never out of obligation. In my case it was before the wedding but after we have set the wedding date, which is about 3 months before we get married. I also let him handle all the logistics and carry all the cost burden. If the marriage falls through for any reason I am free to find my own place no need to deal with the detach logistics of leases and stuff. Of course once we are married everything is signed as a married unit

Agree completely! Also, being married, announcing to your family and friends of your commitment put both of you in a different mindset. Cohabiting comes with a different expectation, more disposable, more casual. Don’t do it

My husband wakes up early to take the dog out. Then he makes some tea for me to bring to work while I get ready. He also leaves a fresh towel for me by the shower. Every day, without fail. He does a lot of the chores around the house and has a good career. He never forgets birthdays anniversaries or holidays and he’s a dove to my family. Overall he’s a really good guy who means well that I’m happy to share our lives with together. And the sex is really good

Yep. Sure, it’s a commercial holiday. But it’s the gesture that counts. Men who complain about having to show a little effort are just boys. If you can’t be bothered to put together a nice dinner, home cooked or out, a gift, big or small, when you know how much your SO will appreciate it, that’s just disappointing. All my families don’t make a big deal out of valentines since they’re married many years now, but there will always at least be roses or a nice bouquet of flowers when the day comes. …

The stigma is there because it is unpleasant to look at. Look, if you or someone you know get genital herpes, that’s unfortunate. Even if it’s just uncomfortable and ugly to look at during outbreak, it’s still a life long ordeal. And we can’t pretend herpes is completely harmless because it’s not. Complications are rare but it’s there. Nobody would try to get herpes on purpose. Above all prevention is key, and casual sex doesn’t vibe with prevention. It’s just one additional point to not partici…

I have read it https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-sheets/detail/herpes-simplex-virus The complications are not nonexistent. HSV-2 is a sexually transmitted infection that causes genital herpes. Casual sex exposes you to STD, and herpes is one of them. There’s very little to be gained for women in casual sex health wise both mental and physical, best avoid it
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/02/20 05:21 PM
4

I mentioned herpes because it’s the single STD that you can’t take any precaution for. HPV you can get vaccinated. HIV risk is very low with condoms, but not zero. Herpes is wild, hard to take any precaution against even if you think the damage is only cosmetics. And the fact that it can be passed to your child is an additional risk. And yes, genital herpes is gross and unpleasant to look at, that’s just fact
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/02/20 04:31 PM

But it’s still an unnecessary risk just to entertain LVM. What’s next, are we going to pretend STD isn’t that bad either?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/02/20 02:11 PM

Genital herpes is absolutely gross, and a STD. Avoiding casual sex will greatly reduce your chance of getting it. You’re very fixated on this specific STD while missing the point that it’s one of the risks casual sex brings and women do not gain much from sleeping with LVM
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/02/20 02:03 PM

Herpes is not normal, just like how LVM actions are not normal. The fact is herpes is a STD, and the genital kind is super gross. Avoiding casual sex will greatly reduce your exposure to STD, herpes included. Point still is, casual sex provides little value to women and expose us to greater risks

You can never tell someone to stop doing something/someone they really wanna do successfully. What works is asking the right questions to lead them there. Or maybe showing them your healthy relationships and what that looks like. Eventually it will click

It’s never a good idea to engage in casual sex. I say that for both genders. For women there are many more risks: STD, pregnancy, assault, drugged. Hurt feelings are the least of those problems. Condoms won’t prevent herpes. Once you get it you may pass it onto your children. Bad investment for small amount of fun
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/02/20 05:34 AM

Honestly the only true unconditional love you can expect is from your parents, and maybe siblings. Spouses are there but true to human nature I wouldn’t expect too much out of in sickness, poverty and temptation. But numbers don’t lie, men leave their spouses in sickness so much more often than women. This is why no woman should completely sink in full dependency of their men. Plan for the worst
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/02/20 05:26 AM

Girl, this is a great first step and signs. But I must remind you how he treats you decently is just normal behavior. Your expectation and past experience with LVM had been so bad that you think this is amazing. This is normal, this is how normal humans treat each other and court each other. Keep your eyes open because the real test is picking a life partner who doesn’t bail when life gets rough. Who is kind and fully has your back through the test of time, loss and illnesses

This is classic trash behavior from LVM. Move on and never look back. He’s a waste of your time and youth. Be with someone who treats you like the best thing that has ever happened to him. This dufus doesn’t give two shits about you

Hold on. You’re mixing a few things together. Asking him out is not a good look yes. But, stating that you have a timeframe you’re looking to be married and stating you want a relationship are not Becky moves. I have no idea why or when it became uncool to state the obvious expectation. I always recommend women I know to state their expectation for relationship and marriage as up front as soon as possible. There’s nothing casual about sex. Sex is intimate, it is personal, and it carries a lot of responsibility. Treating sex as a casual act brings more cons than pros for women, biologically, emotionally and physically. I don’t recommend any woman to practice casual sex. If you want to, you do you, I’m not going to judge, but it is not wise. And none of us should pretend it’s empowering or beneficial for us in any sense to participate

Some people make the mistake to compare situations. “Why would he mistreat me but appreciate THAT?”.
