Basically, he tested a theory with 100 girls that if he just told them he wasn't on the app and to send snap or their number, they would be more likely to text back and start a conversation. 100 other girls got a classic tinder opener, and an attempt at in-app conversation. The result was some general percentages that suggest that asking for an out of app communication method was more likely to result in a conversation and date.
