Staying out of debt is a great strategy. I recommend buying the smallest home within reason and get that paid off as soon as possible. Then if you want something bigger, save until you can trade up with cash to pay the difference. Try to max out retirement accounts too if you can (401k and IRA) for the tax savings.

Get a STEM degree, preferrably engineering. Go to a state school. Start at community college, then transfer to the state school. I finished my BSEE at the end of 2006. I think I paid about $20k in tuition total. I used the GIBill, no loans. I've been making >$100k/year for the past 8 years.

I just bought one exactly like yours, but blue from a friend that got trapped on the plantation. 😀. The style of these bikes hold up so good. No one knows they are 12 years old. Great design by Suzuki. I'm tempted to buy a second one to have as a spare they are so cheap ($3-4k).

Yeah it is. If you've driven a manual car, can ride a bicycle pretty good and you've driven a car for awhile and are familiar with reading traffic, etc, it's a great bike to start with. Better than starting on a 300cc which is the usual begginer bike size recommendation.
