This isnt the movies dude. If a woman throws out the D word you take them at their word. If they don't actually mean it and are doing it to throw a tantrum, you let them know very clearly you'll call their bluff. If they mean it, it does us no good to beg and whine. The only option, even if we want them back..is to let them walk. My ex would throw out the D word pretty regularly on her period. By her own and her family's admission "she didn't actually mean it". And maybe at first she didn't. Loo…

What she needs is irrelevant to what OP needs. This thread is advice to OP. She wants a divorce ...he should give it to her and move forward. The reasons are completely irrelevant now.

I will die on the hill women have no problem spending years, like years acting in bad faith with marriages if that's in their interest. It's the worst kept secret about marriage. And the analogy I use is what if we were a fly on the wall when women talk to their girlfriends. What do they really think? So if I had to bet...She's not telling her girlfriends or female coworkers "hubby and I might reconcile, I think we can be a family again, and fix our problems'. Nah. She's saying how much fun she …

Who gives a shit what she thinks on anything. She sounds condescending and patronizing. "Aww shucks, I totally wanted to make it work but you left be no choice but to leave, and now I'm madly in love, youre a great dad though" pats you on the head You need to read up on this divorce stuff more and hang out in this sub a bit more my man. She got bored of you. And youre falling for her lies like you seperated yesterday. Oh, and she knew years in advance she was going to divorce you too.

You think like a man. Haha. I mean that in a good way. You realize it's probably not greener on the other side. Statistics back that up. A woman can realize she's in a decent or even great marriage but want out anyways ..so she will burn that marriage to the fucking ground if she has to so she can "leave a toxic marriage". Also, If that takes years to do...thats not a problem either. You seem pretty aware of all that so I think you'll see those warning signs in advance. If it gets to that.

Even if you speak English, I want you to translate this into your native language anyways, then read it 87 times until you believe me...... she is going to leave you, she might not do it now, but she will. Hell she could get back together with you, and you two could go years together and you'll think "oh, everything is fine'. It's not, she will still leave you eventually. women have no problem staying with a guy for years knowing they'll ddivorceat some point. She doesn't need "time and space to…

Oh I'm sure most dudes thought it was real and got used and dropped like hot garbage. You can do a fake marriage where the beneficiary pays up front and it's just a business transaction to both parties. And that happens. But...why would a woman do that unless they had to? I wouldn't if I was a woman. Plus USCIS occasionally finds out about that, and deny the papers. Just get the guy to pay for it and give you some financial security in the meantime...thats what most do.

So one was a guy from a Mormon mission in Peru, they were my neighbors. He met her in Lima then she left him a few weeks after she got the greencard. K1 visas take forever though. I think the entire process from starting her ppw (while still in Peru) until she left him in Boise was like 6 years. The Venezuelan gal was 38 when she split from her husband. She said it was easier to do the process as a family. I never met the guy so I don't know if she was telling the truth or if he just got dropped…

I speak Portuguese and Spanish. I could give you 5 or 6 south and central american women off the top of my head that I personally know that used their american husband for Greencards then divorced them. I work with a Brazilian gal that's 22 and I'm 90% sure she's going to marry, get her papers then divorce in her late 20s so she can get back on the tinder carousel. I know another Venezuelan that used her Venezuelan husband to get papers here in the states then divorced him to get with a richer A…

My ex and I didn't have kids. Sounds like you two didn't either. When kids arent involved, This one is a slam-dunk, applies to 100% of scenarios, easy decision. Never speak to her or see her again for the rest of your life once the divorce is finalized. I'd say never even see her in person again, and just do the divorce thing through email or whatever.

They do this with their friendships too. A good female friend of mine nuked a friendship at a perceived slight (i told her the issue was not a big deal). Like an 8 year friendship and she blocked the gal out of the blue and will probably never speak to her again.

My BAMF SIL took the ex off of Social media like 3 days after my ex announced to everyone she was leaving, and my ex was genuinely offended by it. Even talked to her about it. Ughh.. that's my tribe, not yours.

Like an employer that fires an employee and then calls them wondering why they didn't show up for their shift. Also OP... props to giving her what she wanted. A great example for all guys here. They want the divorce...give it to them. Guys will have their wives divorce their ass and then spend years being at her beck and call anyways.

"why do lesbian marriages have the highest divorce rates?" Why admit you're wrong about something when you can just divorce instead.

3 weeks is more than enough time. I wouldn't give her another day. The sooner you tell her "ok, you want a divorce, I respect your decision, let's go forward" the sooner you can take your life back. It's empowering too. Shit I'd tell her that today if you haven't already. Seriously. Don't ask her why, don't beg. Let her walk. Whatever happened or didn't happen is irrelevant now. Take back your life. Edit: oh, and yes, we've all been through this. We got your back. Not to beat a dead horse but...…

If you're loaded or in the top echelon of looks, go for it. Youll get plenty of sex. Otherwise.... So my ex didn't do this, our sex life was consistent. I seemed to avoid that simply because no menopause/only married 5 years. But it seems to be an inevitability I've seen, not just on this sub but talking with dudes still married IRL . that when women realize they can weaponize intimacy as a bargaining chip or withhold it as "payback " for slights...it's game over. You'll find yourself in the sam…

Under no circumstances should you reach out to her about it. Also, You say in another comment here that "She has to figure out what she wants". She 100% knows what she wants. She's keeping you around as a back-up plan if "what she wants" doesn't pan out. How long you let her Is up to you. She knew she was going to leave you..oof 4, 5 years ago. Maybe longer. Im sure she told her friends the plan years ago. But stayed with you until it became convenient to leave. This isn't to denigrate you. A lo…

OP, Once the divorce is final I want you to never speak to her again for the rest of your life. Im serious. "It hurts my heart to give her the cold shoulder". Dude.... She talks to her girlfriends how excited! She is to divorce.(Yes, she has said this) Shes over the moon to be on Tinder and talks happily about her matches with her friends. She brags to her friends how your still stuck on her. She finds it funny. I'm sure they've laughed about it. You are her plan B. You deserve better than her p…

It's my one hard and fast rule. If she's a PA or her kids are like 20 or something It's probsbly not a big deal. But the chance that the single mom will just use you as a checkbook/babysitter then throw you in the garbage once the kids graduate HS is sky high. I've seen it happen.

You can divorce, you have that right , but the stats on it are pretty clear in regards to kids, its bad for them in the vast majority of cases. Also, the premise that couples should divorce and it will be beneficial to the kids "because their parents will be happier" just isn't the reality. It rarely plays out like that. One of the parents (sometimes both, but almost always one of them) is not happier after divorce.

There's a reason people say "divorce ruined my life" not "divorce was a mild inconvenience ". In most divorces , one person's life gets nuked while the other makes out like a bandit. I'm in year 5. It doesn't feel like day one. It's way better than that. But my life hasn't returned to what it was. I believe it will. I was happy before her, I'll figure out a way to be equally happy after her. Being wrecked 3, 4 years post divorce isn't uncommon for the ones that got left, including women. I assum…

It's maybe my only hard and fast rule. Like I get there comes an age where everyone you date will either be divorced and/or have kids. But getting serious with a single mom, your odds that theyre just using you for a paycheck or a babysitter is just so high. A guy I worked with...11 years married. The step daughter turns 18...bam, gets served divorce papers a few weeks after the daughter graduates. To.your question...it's rare. I don't know any guy who does. I think some try (and in your case so…

You're correct, divorce for children has nearly universally worse outcomes than their parents staying married. There was one study that kids did better academically when one parent died than kids whose parents divorced. But ultimately divorce is going to happen as long as one parent wants it...that's just the way it is.

I waited 11 months post seperation for my first date. It was a waste. If there's no chance at reconciliation and you want to date...date.

Agreed. What screws over so many dudes is a lot women know for years they're gonna divorce, and use their partner in the process. Male or female...everybody has the right to divorce. And I say this as someone who's wife initiated. It was terrible for me. But no one has the right to stay with their partner for years knowing they'll divorce them the entire time, just because it's convenient (or to protect assets). Fuck that.

If you're your wife has a friend, who then gets a divorce...your chance of divorce in your own marriage goes up. It's the craziest statistic I know of.

I was married 5 years too. You're doing just fine my man. I was just like you this far along. Still just heartbroken and crushed. People who tell you that you should have move on by now can fuck off. You're not even 12 months divorced. I would not under any circumstances ever contact her again. She wanted the divorce...give it to her. I'll never contact my ex for as long as I live. You dont either. They don't deserve that ego boost. You were happy before her, you'll be happy after her.

She mentioned counseling or "making it work" because she realized(or was told by her family) she needs to use you for longer until she can divorce. You're asking for advice so there it is. Women have no problem using their husbands for years knowing the entire time they'll divorce him when it's convenient. She is going to divorce you, the only question is if you'll let her use you to do it later or just pull the plug now.
