If men were as affectionate with each other as female friends are, women would assume they're gay and disqualify them. No, men don't do this because they want to appear macho. Women on the other hand are not equally competitive. LMFAO. Post again after puberty, plz.

As of 1998, an estimated 17.7 million American women had been victims of attempted or completed rape. I take rape very seriously, and this number alarmed me. Looking at the article you linked shows it includes attempted rape. I looked at the original data and saw that subtracting the 'attempted' number only dropped it from 18% of women to 15%, so still very high. Why is this data 23 years old? Do we have anything more recent than 1998? I hope it's been trending down since... The original survey …

I'd rather get people to have some basic safety training than a background check. I watched my Grandma almost take her own eye out when she brought a revolver up to her face to look down the sights. Thankfully my Dad stopped her before she could fire. Ironically, that day was a training day, but she didn't feel like waiting for instruction before she picked up a loaded weapon.
