It may be that it's all the laws in Cyprus will allow. If so, it's a failure of the legal system, IMHO, not the police (or whatever entity is doing the charging). They simply don't have the legal tools to deal with the problem. You don't know if the arrest is unlawful or not until after the matter goes through the courts. So yes, in the unlikely event that you live long enough to make it to court after taking the life of a police officer during an unlawful arrest, AND if the court sees it your way, you might be acquitted. IMO traditional gender roles were equal. For every perceived "disadvantage" women had, they had a corresponding advantage (e.g. women didn't have the vote, but they also weren't subject to the draft). Imagine the ideal case one of the parents blows all the money on beer and cigarettes while the kids starve. Is tracking their spending really going to solve the problem here? I'm confused.
