Because first wave feminism is what got women the right to vote. I agree that most feminists now are completely crazy, but the movement began as a group that was fighting for something very important at a time when women truly had less rights than men.

Here's a link to the community center's class and activity schedule (that's the monday page, links to other days of the week are in the sidebar). They do offer the same coding class on Wednesday evenings without the gender restriction, but they do not offer any boys classes (or any girls classes other than that coding class).

Did anyone ask/offer to teach a boys coding class? I'm no expert, but as far as I know, the classes that are offered at community centers are often just whatever people volunteer to teach. If someone asked to teach a girls coding class, but no one asked to teach a boys coding class, I think that would be a kind of valid reason for only the girls class to be offered. They offer the same class on Wednesday nights with no gender restriction (the girls class is Monday nights). It'd be better if they didn't restrict either class to one gender, but at least they don't only have coding classes for girls.

I posted this article because I thought it did a nice job of promoting male body positivity. Maybe the rest of their stuff is feminist BS (I wouldn't know since I basically only go on buzzfeed when someone links me to a silly quiz). I see so little promoting male body positivity and it was really nice to come across this article (someone on tumblr linked to it), which does such a nice job of it (even if the website overall is awful).

Historically, men were a pretty big threat to men and unborn babies were a pretty big threat to women. Also historically, I'm pretty sure disease was the biggest threat to everyone (because, you know, no modern medicine).

The fact that they're calling this "gender neutral" is total BS. This is a women's restroom at a place that allows trans people to use whatever restroom they are comfortable with. A gender neutral restroom is one that anyone can use and I should know because all of the restrooms on my school's residence campus are gender neutral (I also go to a women's college, but that's not the point).
