Ok. He agreed with me that we will see a lawyer to discuss finances before we get married. I defaulted on my student loans and I don’t want the company to be able to go after his money if I get sued. But I also don’t want to get screwed should we ever get divorced. So I told him I want in writing what ever agreement we have on the house so it’s fair.

Ok that makes sense. I’m not 100% sure what will happen first, getting married or purchasing the house. The markets really are a travesty right now so I don’t see a purchase happening until the market calms down. Now does it matter if he purchase the house before or after we are legally married? Is it smarter for me to have him wait until after?
