I live in Japan and an integral part of the dating process is a confession, you go out on things that are not called dates outright, and within 3 "dates" you're supposed to confess or it's assumed nothing will happen. Ofc this only applies to dating Japanese women, when I date other foreigners (which is the norm as I don't like how Japanese women look) I just do it normally.
