sorry, I get to decide That's not an apology. That's a veiled statement of non-apology to excuse whatever behavior you want. what I'll say to whom, and when, and what I'll do, where and when See? Nobody gets to give me orders, Yea of course not mate, you're a real individual especially when they don't want to take the same sort of orders themselves. "Don't want to take the same orders?" What are you talking about? You sound like a shithead.

You seem to just be resisting. I don't know how to explain the stoicism thing a 3rd time. It's in text. Read it again, see if it makes more sense in the full context. Ask me what the context means, don't just pull one piece out of the context then ask me why it's harmful, because I typed more than just "men don't show emotions is where it hurts."

Stoicism isn't intrinsically bad. There are few things that are always bad. Being stoic can be a form of resiliency and can help others around you stay calm and unafraid, but being stoic forever because "men don't show emotions" is where it hurts us. It harms men first, but then in turn we suffer and then don't know how to handle long-term pent-up stress, as one example, and this causes all kinds of mental health problems. We can't blame all violent muders on specific examples of men bottling up…

Goddamn, you've been hurt a lot. You deserve better than whatever you've been through.

Of course. But also try to consider how you would like to be heard: if you voiced a concern and people took it to mean something you didn't intend, how would you like them to respond? Would you appreciate if they asked you clarifyinf questions and tried to understand your pain? I think that's probably what we should strive to do.

You're absolutely right. It's a natural impulse to want to hear something and respond with "Okay, what can I do? Wait, you haven't identified anything clearly enough" and that can be frustrating. Sometimes people ask for help and don't get the phrasing just right yet. They just know that they're afraid, or alone, or vulnerable, and they want help. Whenever we can, we should try to listen to that and seek clarification if necessary and support them in trying to find the answers. I hope I can help…

Just keep trying to be a good person then, mate! Like I said, I don't think this rhetoric is meant to say that all men are personally responsible for every individual violent act. Maybe it needs better framing and wording. It probably does. But surely you've seen discrimination and violence against people in the LGBTQ community? If I've never attacked a gay person in a backalley out of hatred, does that mean I'm doing my best to empower those people who are marginalized to exist as equals and wi…

Men have a responsibility to speak out against misogyny and sexism in all its forms. This goes beyond "opening doors for a lady" and "don't attack women." Yes, don't rape, but also know that sexual assault and yes, even rape, exist in ways other than grabbing a woman in a backalley and forcefully having sex. It means being aware when you or a woman are drunk, it means to know that silence doesn't mean consent. Don't laugh at misogynistic jokes, and even go so far as to tell your friends when it'…

Doesn't this suggest the question of is why aren't fathers raising them?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
