It’s a blanket statement to say they’re competing, they have a shared goal of producing equitable outcomes to people in settings such as the workforce. I’m not conflating the two I’m saying they’re not as intrinsically opposed as this thread makes it out to be.

I don’t get why this community is labeled “left wing” if radfems (grouping in Marxist Feminists and Anarcho Feminists here) are seen as more polarizing to left wing male advocates than non radical feminists. That seems backwards to me and actually detrimental to the material progress of leftism. And if the left/right spectrum is not useful, what is the point of this community being labeled left wing?

Agreed! Oligarchy is hands down the primary way both men and women are being oppressed worldwide but to ignore the compounding factors of race and sex can be negligent.

“Radfem” would be like a radical, Marxist feminist no? Isn’t tearing down the whole system to make room for one that’s more equitable a cornerstone of left wing principles? I agree it is a secular faith the same way humanism (what brought on the enlightenment) or neoliberalism are, to disregard something for being a secular faith is silly. I think it’s lost in this community that women uphold the patriarchy as much as men, that’s why it can be true that there were a large amount of women perpetuating the abuse AND that the abuse and the way it’s been handled publicly is evidence of patriarchy. Male victims may not receive as much attention as female victims because both men and women sustain the homophobia and “touchiness” around the subject BECAUSE of what the patriarchy has taught them.
