Does he look like a model? Hell no. Though he did inherit the house after the parents passed away. Real estate prices are cray-cray where he's at. She owned her own place, too, but maybe she was also eyeing an addition to her real estate portfolio???

I know of a stay-at-home dad. He is living the dream......met the wife in church. No talk of alimony here; he's super religious and hell-bent on staying married. Before that he had a non-profit hobby for 15 years based in his parents' house until they passed away. Hasn't worked a job in 20 years. So yeah, it's possible.

"would stick out like a sore thumb." I actually think this is important to consider. Absolutely. Tall Poppy Syndrome is real. Being accused of being "uppity" can destroy a reputation.

First up, you can be soft, demure, sweet AND fun and exciting at the same time. It's just not a "Girls Gone Wild" kind of fun, is all. The first impression I give most people is that of a Nice GirlTM . I can't shake it. But this Nice Girl did rush a concert stage recently. OK, it was a house concert, so it's not a "real" stage. The guitarist told me afterwards that I was awesome; I figure he understood how I timed my stunt to certain lyrics of the song. I have a tendency to pull stunt…

Yeah, I came to understand that he hits on every Asian woman he sees, which means it's a large sample size, so I have some faith in his survey results.

Went on a coffee date with somebody I met online. I'm pretty sure he was thinking out loud when he mumbled that I didn't have an "attitude problem like a lot of other women." I didn't want to perpetuate the negativity, so I deflected with, "well, different people have different circumstances." Aside from that, I didn't meet his expectations, and I'm okay with that. He's a local (aboriginal!) who's looking for an Asian woman who's fresh off the plane, or a new immigrant, and I just can't be that.

Like others, I don't think the age gap is all that relevant. There are women in my family in their 30's who are willfully irresponsible because the consequences have never been disastrous enough for them to change their ways. By the way, I think there's something deeper going on with your boyfriend's friend's wife than an immature failure to plan ahead. Your description of "childlike" makes me think of innocence, which is related to the optimism that you mention. Somebody else also mentioned not…

Not all contributions, monetary or otherwise, are valued equally be each man. True. My ethnic ghetto has mothers armed with the stellar white-collar CV's of their single sons, scouring a matchmaking event for a doctor/engineer/etc. wife that will not bring shame to the family. OK, now I'll crawl back into my ghetto!
/r/RedPillWomen21/06/17 04:02 AM

How many times do we have to hear women list off their academic/career achievements as if those are reasons to deserve a HVM? But doesn't that prove that a woman is not a mooch, and can contribute her share to the marriage, or shall I crawl back into the ethnic ghetto from which I come? ;-) There's a reason why non-white women outnumber white women in STEM majors....

The ability to affect a light, carefree demeanor when appropriate is an important element of femininity. Absolutely. I was born with gravitas. Maybe some of it is cultural - you know the serious, studious Asian? That's what I was born as. I spoke in calm, measured tones as young as age 8 because I didn't have enough self-awareness to know how else to "be". And you know what gravitas gets you when you're young? NO FRIENDS. "Stop being so serious", my parents would tell me. "Kids don't like seriou…

I'm East Asian, born and raised in the West in an area with a large Asian population. As for the STEM couples you see, I think there's some parental pressure on both genders to marry somebody of a similar social circle. Plus it does take 2 STEM incomes to survive in my city.

Gingers yes, blondes no. I don't know why. Maybe I look like compassion? A ginger will seek me out when I am 100% minding my own business (and so far they break my heart after, but that's okay). I can't get a blonde to give me the time of day.

If a field is "male dominated" that means it is unusual for a girl to be in that field, which means it is not "traditional". Ah, this is where I get confused ;-) There are careers that are male-dominated in North America. These same careers are not male-dominated in my parents' country of birth. It is absolutely fascinating and maddening to juggle these two cultures in my life since my city is definitely not as ummmm...."white" as it used to be. She seems to have very little idea about what men …
/r/RedPillWomen28/05/17 02:44 AM

For example a true "traditional woman" wouldn't be in a male dominated field. Can somebody clarify this for me? I'll throw out an example: when I was interning in Europe (in IT), the multinational pharma corp in town held a "Daughter Day" which I quickly understood to actually be "Take Your Daughters To Work Day". I explained to my co-workers that it's a day for parents to introduce their daughters to STEM careers where women are underrepresented. These very feminine women looked at me dumbly an…

I'm having a hard time seeing the goddamn point to not become like the feminists. You know deep down inside that being like the feminists will not make you happy. I'm sure you've witnessed people hook up and then shack up (as I have), but it's no guarantee. Many other people have hooked up with nothing to show for it. Getting your heart broken by a guy that seemed to be really into you (physically, at least) is worse than getting rejected by a guy that you like. Start small. Find joy in little t…

I am questioning my choice of job, yet have to make a living somehow. I really don't want to see you worry about this. Is this a North American thing where a woman can't be "traditional" and still work in a male-dominated field? This baffles me. In Europe, women can still be ultra-feminine and work as nuclear engineers or economists. They don't see the problem, and neither do I. Ditto Asia. Maybe it's because of our history of poverty that women are expected to be capable. Maybe North American s…

Hang in there and stick with your faith community. Like you, I struck out a lot when I was your age. The worst was with guys my own age - I felt like I just couldn't make most of them give me the time of day. I did receive one sincere offer from an older man who praised me for my conversational abilities. Unfortunately, he was extremely religious and I was anti-religion at the time due to my culture (thanks, Mao Zedong). I agree with what other people say about older men. (And you sound like you…

For anybody who thinks this guy is "too beta" or whatnot: I'm pretty sure he's Asian. Our men for better(?) and for worse, lean more towards what Western people consider "too beta". That makes courtship a different ballgame from what's normally discussed here. As for you, /u/red_panda_bear_top, are you attracted to him? See what happens if you flirt back (if that's what you want).

We've grown up with the mantra: 'men like strong independent woman' - thus our careers should only add to our SMV. I'd replace "strong independent" with the word "capable" and argue that this might add to a woman's RMV. When I moved into my apartment, the property manager (who's a traditional, macho ex-military European) witnessed me haggle with the previous tenant the only way I knew how - tough, Asian-style. And I'm a girl scout - I have my shit together, cash on hand, I ask in-depth questions…

Do you ever feel like men will automatically choose any other girl that's in the room from you because of this? Oh, you mean like my college experience in a nutshell? ;-) I struggled with the notion of "hotness" for a long time, thinking that there was no way that men would look at me unless I looked like an FHM cover model. I'm not "hot". I'm too innocent and naive to be "hot". I don't look sexual, especially not after having been forced to stay childlike in my early 20's. (For anybody who want…

Just to follow up on my last post - this is how much your story resembles mine: You aren't beautiful but other girls in your class are very beautiful and mature However you are sexual to men. (She would get this weird look when I dressed up to see my bf and go "oh he's def going to like that outfit) Men are evil. Men will specifically target you as a victim 100% of the time and if they say they love you it's a lie. This is true of all men in terms of you. (She never taught my sister this she jus…

Just like you'd start a conversation in real life. I have a feeling that the OP is from a culture where women who initiate conversations with men are assumed to be DTF. So the degree to which she can initiate platonic conversations with men will depend on which part of the country she's in and how Westernized her peers are.

When girls grow up in a culture where we're all out for ourselves as individuals, no one knows how to care for others like a woman should, and boys don't know the importance of becoming MEN and taking care of people in their community or forming bonds. You used the words "take care of" twice. This is very telling. Thank you for sharing. I am sort of lucky to have grown up in one of those Eastern cultures you mentioned. On the upside, we're conservative. On the downside, the most important value …

Or maybe it's because I have Aspergers? A lot of us tend to be extremely loyal and we don't really play into the same social aspects. Well, did you grow up socially around girls? I was born with a touch of Aspergers so girls knew to stay away from me and my weirdness or suffer ostracization. I always hung out with my fellow nerds - who happened to be all male. I missed out - for better and for worse - on some female programming and I had to play catch-up in my 20's.

Points 1 and 2 almost seem like they contradict each other because you say you need to act professional but then say the office is casual dress? There is no contradiction. She is expected to behave in a "professional" manner (think death-grip corporate handshakes and women who pitch their voices lower in an effort to sound authoritative) but the dress is casual. And the cattiness that she describes in point 2 is real. Maybe she can compensate by being extra nice and gracious to her co-workers, b…

Has anyone else who's discovered The Red Pill gone through this sad phase when they realize men think like this? Yeah. I'm still in that sad phase right now. I walk around and ask myself, "if AWALT, what hope is there for me? Do I have to walk around with a sign that says 'I was ridiculed in college for not riding the cock carousel?'" (Chad did not give me the time of day, and I despised the sluts who got his attention.) Thank you for writing this. I read all that TRP stuff and I feel like a glu…

Fellow sorta-aspie checking in! I was largely shut out of Girl World growing up because I didn't have the social skills to navigate it, so I, too, suffered from bullying and petty games that I didn't know how to play. I didn't get to observe "regular" women in their natural environment until my mid 20's, and it blew my mind. TRP helped me understand their behavior in more detail than "bitchez be crazy". The thing you should remember though is because you are different, you will attract different…

As an example from Eastern Europe (where my family and I come from), smiling too much is a signal that your an idiot or that your up to something shady. I'm Asian and we say the EXACT same things about North Americans!

Thank you for sharing your story. I'm sort of in the same boat as you. I looked out onto the landscape and said to myself, "if AWALT - hypergamous, cock carousel-riding gold diggers - what hope is there for an exception like me?" But then I remind myself that I've always admired a man's ability to objectively analyze a situation, and go against the herd if he feels that is what is best for him. I'm like that, too, since I was a child. I love exceptions. In high school I had the biggest crush on …

Being a virgin after 30 is a convenient screening tool. Guys run away from me because they don't want the responsibility of being my first, and they don't want to deal with the romantic lovey-dovey stuff that I'm going to want from him.
