What you have to realize is women get dozens of messages a day so they can pick and choose who they want to talk to. Also attraction is in the eye of the beholder. Some women won't even consider dating shorter guys no matter how awesome they are. So along with a great message you should say something witty to set yourself apart from the rest of the chatter. Try texting a funny picture or say something witty/funny. Nobody really wants to answer, "what have you been into" texts. Or start by telling her something you did that's mildly entertaining. If she's interested she will hit you back. If not she's not into it. If a girl likes you she will take the time to text back.
