Political science, then law school. I want to be a politician. The thing about top schools is that if your income is below a certain threshold (which mine is) and you get in, you get a full ride. So my only concern as of now is getting in.

Heres how I see it: if I have their respect, I can get leadership positions- since they're elected, I need their respect to win. If I get leadership positions, it looks good on college applications, and I'm more likely to get into a good college. If I don't have their respect, I won't get leadership positions. If I don't get leadership positions, I'm less likely to get into a good college. And going to a good college does matter.

None of the academic scholarship kids are popular rhough, even the good looking, jacked ones. So either people do care, or every academic scholarship kid cares about other people caring.

Grades mean shit in life Yeah, so does biology and geometry. I want to go into government/politics, so those two are useless. In the other hand, I actually try to learn in history.

I don't see why studying and having fun are mutually exclusive. So far, I have straight As and haven't studied for a single test. It'll probably get harder, but there are plenty of seniors who party and have fun while still making good grades and party a lot. Take, for example the debate team captain. Besides debate, he's a scholarship fencer, has a hot gf, and according to his snapchat parties or hangs out every friday.

I know it might seem like it's for validation, but I want to be respected cause it helps my ambitions: if I'm to become debate captain or newspaper editor, I need their respect. But you are correct, nonchalance helps. So you're suggesting stuff outside school. If it's to have cool experiences, most jobs are off the table. What do you mean by Meetup group? Any particular suggestions?

Haha, I wish. But I got in through book smarts, and this is all social intelligence. Besides, even with book smarts, my school is notoriously hard and strict: you have to maintain a 3.5 unweighted GPA and participate (and when I mean participate, I mean actually participate) in at least one academic/intellectual club- debate, language clubs, math clubs, chess, robotics, et cetera.

It's a bit about popularity, but more about respect. I respect myself, I think of myself as someone who should be a leader- I was at my old school, and I did well. But the social Dynamics are different here, and if I want leadership positions (debate captain, newspaper editor) I need their respect.
