I disagree with this. There are traits and behaviors that I keep consistent no matter who I'm around. I'm the same me even though I may act differently depending on the context. It's different from depicting a personality or ideal in your head and intentionally feigning that or those traits. Best way I can put it is I say OP think that he can build his confidence and charisma by just going out and practicing his approach/convo rather than adopting a persona that's supposed to be the script that …

Same here man. It's been a year+ from me and I struggled a lot with anxiety and hard times throughout it all. It gets better though. The key for me and what I think can help for you is to not focus on meeting women right now but rather try to connect with guys you see at common places, like the gym. The problem with trying to change up your personality with meeting people, let alone girls, is that over time you're reinforcing these traits you feign, things you say, etc. that don't really reflect you. You start to lose some of your authentic traits, quirks, mannerisms, etc. that are pretty important in terms of attraction and staying true to yourself overall, which you should no matter if you're trying to meet women. Rather than intently trying to change up your personality depending on meet…

One thing that's been getting to me a lot is the idea of a bad rejection/interaction leading to a bad impression, and word getting around. I'm in a decently sized city but it feels like a small town... a lot of people I meet going out know a friend of mine. I get worried often times that if an approach goes awry, it would suck for a girl to tell her friends, her friends telling their friends if they see me out, etc. and developing the name of a creep or weirdo.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
