I say no, but it's not easy and you must always have your guard up. As everyone here has been saying, shock. Had the same thing happen to me when I grandpa died. I didn't really shed a tear until I was at the funeral. Same with my grandma (spouse of said grandpa). When she died I was kinda numb, didn't feel anything. At the funeral when my grandpa walked to the casket for his last goodbyes and burst out in tears I just fucking lost it.
