1	Curiosity of nice guy vs chivalrous guy no its fine to do that but the key is to actually be it and these things should come from without you trying to get out a reaction from the girl aswell as her not having to ask. if things like opening a car door for a girl comes natural to you then do it by all means, your attraction will go way up. 2	Has working retail (or any other sales job) helped your confidence in approaching? bartender here - any job that requires you to actually talk to people will inevitably make you better at talking to people. Once you realize that nobody is out to hurt you nor really cares what your doing or who you are it becomes progressively easier to talk to most people about pretty much anything.
