Everyone here knows that people getting offended and resorting to mob justice are the real problem. But the government won't do shit because they can't risk alienating their vote bank demographic. Free speech is virtually impossible to attain in this country.

India can't handle absolute freedom of speech. People will resort to mob lynching if you say something offensive. Hell, even with laws curbing "offensive" speech, people still like to dish out mob justice. True freedom of speech is the greatest privilege in this world. It's sad to see countries like the UK and your home country of Canada are pushing for hate speech laws.

Freedom of speech like you have in America doesn't exist in India.

This whole privilege system is so fucking stupid. I can gain a shit ton of intersectionality points by claiming to be trans-racial, transgender, gay, and Muslim. I can claim all of that and not change a single thing about myself. People are terrified of questioning any of your claims because they don't want to be labeled as bigoted, so might as well cheat the system

I hear ya, brother. Decisions like porn ban are a giant leap of faith. We can't be sure if it'll mitigate the problem or if people might find new and perhaps even sinister ways to circumvent the system and gain access to all sorts of pornography. One thing I'm sure of is that I've seen the degradation porn has brought to some of the people I personally know. I feel compelled to believe that porn is not compatible with the Indian sociocultural ethos.

Never marry. The tax benefits aren't fucking worth it. If she truly loves you, she doesn't need a contract to prove your love.

This article provides some of the reasons why it is harmful, with appropriate citations. To be honest, I do not know how every individual perceives porn. I'm speaking from my personal experience, being Indian. Porn is not consumed rationally and responsibly. I've seen kids as young as 10 exchange flash drives full of porn, as if they were Pokemon cards. I've seen people become egregious perverts. There's a reason why "send bobs and vegana" is such a meme. Young Indian men think of women (general…

Pornography is incredibly harmful to young men. In a country like India where the whole sexual liberation phase never happened like it did in the West, porn has insidious effects on the malleable minds of the youth. And not to mention, the whole porn industry is fucked up. I would be in full support of a porn ban if it were to actually happen.

Such feminists derive a perverse pleasure out of shaming people. They are desperate for any moral high ground. You cannot win in a debate against sanctimonious ideologues.

STEM was the one field where your skin color, sex, nationality or sexual orientation did not matter. It was the one field where people only cared for the advancement of science. Now, shit like this has polluted what was once the single most empowering field of career.

It's so fucking heartbreaking. Men are expected to burden this self- loathing attitude towards their own masculinity. You'd find more acceptance and even love if you dyed your hair neon green, get appalling cosmetic surgery, and claim to be a trans-racial, genderfluid, horizontally challenged, Muslim amoeba.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
