Thank you for your words. I checked myself into the hospital, i was extremely suicidal. I took a leave of absence from work and am starting a partial hospital program today. I'm going to throw everything i can into learning how to deal with this.

It's so incredibly hard to do either one. Right now I'm convinced if I don't take off the shoes I will never get better. You can't live under this forever. I have already attempted suicide once. I am not going there again.

On those questions.

Fwiw I was cut for medical reasons at age 30. That #3 is true...for a few months. The reality is we adapt. The first few months were brutal. The first year was weird, especially masturbating. The second year was exactly like the year before I got cut, I couldn't tell the difference.

Did you even read that? Are you capable of understanding it? Based on your response it seems to be no and hell no.

It can be very eye opening when it sinks in. You have barely even scratched the surface of the systemic problems men face. Unfortunately, not many people do what you did here. They aren't willing to approach this topic with a critical or open mind. Instead relying on the judgement of their in-group, one that routinely denies men can even be victims.

I've spent the past few hours going all through this sub and it's almost comical how that is always the response. I really hope this place can gain some emotional maturity some day.

Feminism does not equal women. You used them interchangeably when they are not. Feminism deserves hate for what it is, women don't.

Those are all societal/personal problems that aren't inherent to gender. There is no need to critique gender on any of that. Even so, none of that is anywhere near universal.

Do you not see the absolute, blinding hypocrisy of tut-tutting this sub without addressing the massive and endemic hatred of men elsewhere on reddit? No, I don't, and I'd love to hear your explanation. Do you expect everyone to never say a word unless they also talk about every single issue in existence? Or is it just sexism that is held to this requirement? Can someone never critique anything about either of the groups unless they immediately critique something about the other? How is their lac…

It's unhelpful because it's irrelevant. There are very shitty people all across the board. You'd do well to leave politics out of the conversation.

Damn...it starts off with some hard sexism and doesn't let up the whole way through. That's the most sexist thing I've read in a while.

These things come with a degree of anger and just like subs like r/feminism or r/twochromosomes this sub is a safe space for its participants to vent about the issues that only they face. Yes, there is a lot of justified pain and anger in this sub but that is not an excuse. There is a very clear line when someone crosses from disparaging a situation to disparaging a gender and this sub, as well as those you linked, regularly and intentionally cross it. Usually to applause. This sub is only anti …

If you find yourself engaging with hurt and broken people and they lash out you would do well to realize they are responding to the pain more so than you. Hostility and trauma come hand in hand for most people. The answer to that is empathy and care, not more conflict and arguments. If you can't do that then you shouldn't engage at all because all you will do is be another demon in their nightmare. That whole speil where you invalidate a ton of people is pretty fucked up too.

Taking off the shoes is such a hard thing to do. In my case my ex continues her decade of abuse through my kids and is enabled by the courts. Taking off the shoes would be leaving them for good. I tried that once and the guilt and remorse broke me even more. My kids don't understand abuse but they do understand when dad won't talk to them. They already have an abusive mom, they don't deserve that from me. And my son needs me. It is extremely clear. I can't take off the shoes.

The number one thing you son will need is education and support. He needs to be well prepared for what can happen so he knows what pitfalls to avoid and how to respond if he does step in one. If he does step in one he will need solid and unwavering support. If I had either of those I don't think I would be as broken as I am today.

Reporting is pointless. Reddit admins official stance is that it is not possible for anyone with privilege (read: white, male) to be discriminated against.

Is it? I've seen some pretty hateful stuff in this subreddit. To the point I refuse to participate until the rage overwhelms my morality. It'd be better to acknowledge and try to solve the issue than deny it and hope nobody actually looks. I judge feminism very harshly on their bad apples. They have a LOT of them. But so do we and neither one seems to really care to do anything about that.

You'd have a point if OP was their manager. He isn't.

While I admire your fire this happens to hundreds of fathers all over the US every single day. One person even immolated themselves on the courthouse steps in protest. Not only has nothing changed, it's gotten worse. I truly do hope you can effect some kind of positive change but I'm too broken to believe you can.

when we went to court for it it was hush hushed under the table This is very common practice. I was denied contact with my kids for an entire year, I stopped paying support halfway through although I got it all caught up before the court date. She let me see them the day of court and that satisfied them. I was sentenced to 10 days in jail and had to pay for her lawyer. Here I am a year out from that last one and I haven't seen my kids in about 6 months now.

It's literally all down to what type of person your ex and the judge are. It can be nice and neat and fair to everyone or it can be a nightmare for you that never relents for a couple decades. You should also know there is a heavy incentive for the judge to deny you custody if you are a big earner. Every dollar they collect from you they get up to 1.3 (iirc) dollars in federal funding and the amount they get overall is heavily factored in their job performance.

You're not supposed to accept it, you can find someone that won't treat you like that. You will not likely be able to get that and stay in your son's life however.

I went 2 years without seeing my kids faces, 1 year without talking to them. She let me see them the day of court and they acted like everything was all fine and dandy. I got 10 days in jail for not paying support (cliche, I stopped paying out of anger from not seeing them). That was last year. It's now been about 4 months since I've seen them, my son talks to me on Xbox chat so at least I have that now. I had to pay 10k last year for court (I had to pay her lawyer) and now need to come up with …

Many people, including the people that run this website, actually do believe men can't be the victims of sexism and white people can't be the victim of racism. These aren't fringe groups being radical, it is mainstream feminism.

You should be saying that to the mirror.

That is so far from happening it's silly to even think about. We live in the opposite reality. Every day fathers are kept from their kids for no reason other than to get those yummy title 4 funds.

One of the sickest things i ever experienced from my abuser is this sense of glee when I tried to kill myself and she had to "take care of me". When it was her abuse that drove me to suicide to begin with. That's when I realized I was dealing with a truly evil person.
/r/MensRights15/06/22 08:01 AM

It wouldn't matter if they were right down the road. The fact is that men simply do not have rights in family court.

It's almost like something like this has disasterous effects on a person. I know I am far more bitter and jaded now than before my nightmare started. I am in a lot of ways a worse person.
