It's an unpopular reddit view, but I actually agree with this. Cheating is the cause of a bad relationship, its the result of one.

"Very fine people on both sides" And that's on top of his ongoing and indisputable disdain for Mexicans. As for the moron part, he did color a U.S. flag with red & blue stripes. There's a reason people in his own administration call him a moron.

In the U.S. Democrats are the liberal party and Republicans are the conservative party. YMMV.

If this is a genuine question, you're being willfully ignorant. Republicans are generally silent on the topic of gender equality. Democrats are generally vocal about promoting women's rights. No one is vocal about promoting men's rights. For example, the Florida Governor primaries were just held last night. The winner on the Republican side has zero mention of gender rights on the "issues" page of his website. The winner on the Democratic side has 10 major issues listed on his website, one of th…

I'd say Trump is difficult for this sub because he's probably good for Men's rights compared to many other conservatives (and certainly compared to liberals). But on the other hand, he's a bigoted moron that MRA's probably shouldn't really be embracing. IMO, the bad outweighs the good.

I have to admit I see a lot of upvoted comments here that are downright hateful of women generally. Is this sub about uplifting men or dragging women down? Don't confuse women with feminists.

It is beautiful when (a) their own policies are applied to themselves and (b) they start turning on each other.

It‘s like the claim that an adult is being harassed or bullied by a child What is it about feminists that they constantly equate being a woman with being a child? Weird.

the other people you mentioned had a lot more evidence against them So the "evidence" against Chris Hardwick was more damning that the evidence against Asia? Evidence that includes a $380,000 payment of hush money and picture of her and Jimmy in bed together? okay.....

I'm not sure why, but I think we're supposed to be offended that we're referred to as "male" here rather than "men".

they don't really care about men so much as feel attacked by and hate feminism. What if we care about men who are attacked by feminism? Argento may have sexually assaulted a 17 year old boy, or he might have made the whole thing up. I don't speak for everyone here, but I know that to be the truth. She might be guilty; she might be a victim of a false accusation - we don't know. But that's the beautiful thing about this story, that it points out the hypocrisy of feminism. Because the exact same t…

It's harder for women to work and have kids No it isn't. It's easier for them because they know the biased alimony and family court rulings will take care of them. They can easily take an lower-paying, easier job, or quite their job all together, with confidence that their husband will continue to financially support them with the full force of the U.S. government ensuring it is so.

There may be (but not necessarily be) a few things that could be tracked back to contributing to both of these. But to suggest that the causes of both are identical is ridiculous. It also doesn't address cause and effect. Women choosing low paying careers could result in 97% of alimony payers being men. 97% of alimony payers could result in women choosing lower paying careers. Or the two could be completely unrelated. The bottom line is that feminism is already addressing their perceived "proble…

How's this working out for ya?
/r/MensRights20/08/18 06:44 PM

Nah, I disagree. We are advocating here fore men's rights. That's it. The natural consequence of increasing men's rights will be greater gender equality, but gender equality isn't really what we're working for here. We're working for men's rights. If we were working for gender equality, then we would be spending just as much time discussing the reasons women choose lower paying career than men and how to fix that, as we do discussing why 97% of alimony payers are men. What women choose to do wit…

We can, in some cases, draw some reasonable conclusions about who is telling the truth. But we never know for certain. Even in cases where a "victim" changes their story, we don't know for certain. That's a pretty good indication that it is a false accusation, but it isn't proof. Just like a guilty plea is a pretty good indication that it is an actual rape, but it isn't proof.

I've got a bit of a problem when we take something that feminists do, complain that it is bullshit, and then turn around and do the same damn things ourselves rather than continuing to call it bullshit. I fear that this was done in some parts of this study. In this case, it was the man who collapsed on his girlfriend’s bed, said ‘no’ to sex and then passed out. It was his girlfriend who had sex anyway. Yes. This is rape (or should be considered rape) regardless of the genders. This is the type o…

You made a positive statement about the rarity of malicious false rape accusations. You did not say that we don't know, you said that you do know that they are rare. Since you jumped in mid-thread, I understand your confusion. If you check up-thread, you'll recognize that I was stating an opinion, not a positive statement of fact: While the malicious false accusation is a problem (and violators should see consequences), I continue to believe it is a minor problem. The point is that there are onl…

So you have no basis for making such a claim. Correct. You can't prove a negative. That is pretty basic knowledge. They are not illegal as such, so why would anyone count em? Wut? Just ask Mary Koss, who apparently briefed President Obama before a speech. Rape accusations are counted, but each false rape accusation is counted as a reported rape. Which makes such statistics unreliable; which is exactly what I said. But only one of these is considered a problem. By whom?

Got a non-feminist source for this? As I said in the post you are responding to, reliable statistics on false rape accusations don't exist because they can't exist - whether from a non-feminist source or not. Before you send me 20 google links, note that the key word in my statement is reliable. Reports? Are you talking about the rape report itself? Sorry, that was apparently a typo. Statistics on false rape accusations are inherently flawed. As are statistics on rapes. Lack of certainty is no p…

I've got two points on this. Specific to this post, I didn't say that false accusations were rare. I said that malicious accusations are rare. More broadly, reports on false rape accusations are inherently flawed. The fact is, we have no idea how common false accusations are, because in the vast majority of cases, we can't know whether they should fall into the "rape" or "false accusation" category. All we know is that two people disagree on what happened. We can, in some cases, draw some reason…

I guess I need to lower my standards. I'm a 52 year old guy. If she approached me at a bar or something like that, I'd politely turn her down. IMO, she's down right physically unattractive. I can't imagine she's got a personality that will compensate for that.

While the malicious false accusation is a problem (and violators should see consequences), I continue to believe it is a minor problem. The number of truly malicious women who are going to intentionally accuse a guy of something for no reason is a pretty small number. To me, the bigger problem is the number of women who believe that "everything" is harassment / assault / rape. A view, of course, that is promoted and taught by feminists. Sometimes you just feel uncomfortable or awkward with anoth…

This is exactly correct. Feminists don't just call out misogyny that exists, they go looking to create it out of innocuous material. Remember this Budweiser controversy a couple years ago? “The perfect beer for removing ‘no’ from your vocabulary for the night.”

Don't make the mistake of feminists=women. There's a distinct difference. I most wholeheartedly blame feminists for this. It's unfortunately that all women are suffering the consequences.

And a lot are still in the closet as well. Even people that post here; how many of them talk about men's rights advocacy offline? A lot of the guys accused could certainly share our philosophy, but either don't want to deal with the ramifications of voicing support, or don't realize that they aren't alone and that their are others who share their views.

As a father with a teenage daughter who will be entering the workforce in the next 5-10 years, I found this to be pretty terrifying. While it is understandable, it seems clear that in many cases #MeToo is really going to limit my daughter's professional opportunities because men are so damn scared of being accused of inappropriateness that they are trying to minimize professional interactions with women. What I found most interesting and alarming about the men's responses was that they fell into…

Either kids under 18 are not capable of having consent according to law and other factors, in which case the "consent" from the minor is irrelevant, and the adult party is fully guilty of taking advantage of the youth's innocence and naivete. OR Age is irrelevant and marriages and sexual relations with minors should be made legal. Pedophilia will no longer be a thing. You're missing the word "consent" in your second point. Consensual marriages and sexual relations.....
/r/MensRights09/08/18 04:50 PM

We need to stop treating consensual relationships with teenagers to be rape, regardless of gender. Want to make it a misdemeanor or something minor to discourage it? Fine, I can compromise there. But putting people in jail and having them register as sex offenders for consensual relationships is ridiculous.
