Mention how put-together she looks, or how happy she looks, compliments on her shoes or earrings, or how her purse pulls her outfit together. Just mention little details, because most likely, she put a lot of thought into her appearance. It’s the little things that make a bigger impact.

Awkward. Don’t approach with compliments about looks. More than likely, doing so will put them on guard automatically. Use any other topic to use for an approach. Just be yourself and make eye contact, a little shy smile on your face, and talk to her about the weather if you have to. If she has any pets, or any exciting plans in the near future, what is the movie she last watched, or what is her current binge-worthy show.

Your feelings are definitely justified-sounds like you dodged a bullet. I would be more disappointed than angry. You had a gut instinct that you listened to. I would have done the exact same thing. If she doesn’t put forth the same effort to follow through, because she got drunk, she isn’t worth it.
