I agree, I'm an MRA and even I don't come here anymore. If anybody wants a more serious look at the men's rights movement I'd recommend looking into Warren Farrell, he's been advocating for men's issues since the 70s and has written several books on the subject. He's also on youtube.

the fuck is with this sub? Moderators stopped caring, and the sub gradually got taken over by anti-SJW users that don't even care much about men's issues. It got especially bad since /r/the_donald came to reddit, a lot of people from there ended up coming here just to whine about feminists. I visit this sub occasionally because it can make some really good points, but they're all hidden in a sea of obnoxious complaining and "defeating" imaginary women in imaginary arguments. I was a regular here for years and I've mostly stopped coming. I only saw this because it's on /r/all. All states have laws against sex with somebody who's "too intoxicated to consent," but in most states that's interpreted to mean somebody who is almost passed out. I don't see anything about whether this law is different? The big point of this law is that before the law only covered actual sex, not other sex acts like fingering. That's why Brock Turner got a light sentence, and this law is trying to fix that.

Campus feminists use "safe space" as a way to argue that MRAs shouldn't be allowed on campus. For example this protest at University of Toronto. It reminds me of a claim Christina Hoff Sommers mentioned in Who Stole Feminism. Feminists used to claim that 150,000 women died each year from anorexia. It was widely cited among feminists including scholars, but when Sommers actually investigated it was bullshit. I've read the book and it is a great read. It is a bit dated though and a lot of the examples aren't relevant in 2016, other than to give historical perspective of what feminism was like in the 80s and early 90s. I have no problem with women in combat but they need to be qualified. The military has always held women to much lower physical standards than men, and if a woman isn't capable of doing the job then it could put the whole unit at risk. Men who are physically fit for combat are allowed in combat, and the same should be true for women. As I understand it, the FBI only counts rapes reported to police, making these statistics worthless. The CDC and Bureau of Justice Statistics are the ones conducting the surveys, and those do not count it as rape unless the victim is penetrated. Looking at the source (page 10), it says more than 50% of the searches were consent searches, so just saying no would stop more than half of them. For the rest, I don't think much is needed for probable cause. "I thought I smelled weed in the car" is sometimes enough. And that's not even counting searches that just weren't legal. I had a history class once, and the teacher had us write an essay about gender roles in the early 20th Century. I forget how the question was worded, but it was clear that he wanted us to talk about both the ways women were disadvantaged and the ways men were disadvantaged, which I thought was pretty cool.
