Ah honey, too bad, we are out and you did not bring any, remember? The proceed to squash them all. Over the sink.

Sure, man. I may edit the post later, as this will be a stream on consciousness of the most helpful sessions learned and pitfalls I found. Acknowledging your dead bedroom with her and taking some of the blame (even if it is not your fault) will go a long way. The navigation of telling someone you loved that the intimacy part is over can be difficult, so play the conversation out in your heart and mind, rethink your steps, and think about the ways that conversation could go wrong. You'll know. It…

Sell it either to a friend who will let you buy it back or like we do in our family, sell it to your parents or relatives... and have them evict her.

Look mate, i am from a different part of the World but basic math still applies. Hire the Lawyer. Agree on an hourly rate before hand. Just for the first talk, it won't be much, but you'll have a much clearer picture of the situation. I am willing to bet she did the same, that's why you get that "generous" offer in the first place. Worst thing, you get the 30k and pay the lawyer 150 bucks an hour from that.

If you are the leaving Party, i think your chance is higher to be successful in rekindling. If your partner is leaving you, their mind is made up and it is up to them to chance it. I have seen it happen. Even remarrying the same person.

Watch out man. Next thing you get breast implants and she will, too. ;D Kidding aside, if you can bring yourself to get to talking terms, ask her maybe if she is going to spend on anything New. If you buy it off her for cheap you might not feel the attachments to your old life but instead a sense of "winning"

Man... That was quite the story. In the end, I think you reflected a lot about your situation. Having a plan and sticking to it is such a good habit... the part where you charged her one dollar is smart! I come from Europe, but our legal systems would maybe have the same understanding of "free" and "there was an intent to move out". Well done. All I can say is I hope you find your way back to a partnership that is worth having. Companionship is the better of two bad options, I think. In the end,…

I get that. The more of all of your experiences I read, the more I think staying is only remaining at the border of a door, neither leaving the room nor fully staying inside.

I get the compications, man. Thank you for sharing your experience. Was your motivation the first time along the lines of "intact family picture for the children" or was moving out always the plan - with delays? I hope you are in a better place now!

If you are handy with tools and need the money, I think it is fair to ask her for an hourly rate she thinks is fair. She knows you and you can argue that you won't cut any corners with the work as your child is going to live there, too. But divorce is divorce. After that it's quit pro quo. If she does not do anything for you as well, no dice. Good luck my man!

This argument comes up often enough. She comes from a household like that, so i wonder if our dead bedroom started from there. My parents fought all the time but also made up time and time again. Some of my friends tell me it really messed with their heads when their parents divorced, so that is giving me pause as well. I think a happy marriage will give your children a more likely optimal outcome, and both other alternatives will likely have negative consequences.

Thank you for giving a balanced opinion. I -like you- don't always see things plainly black and white. Sorry to hear about the silver bullet for you. This, in my opinion warrants wishing cancer on someone. I hope you can turn it around long term!

Thanks for sharing! How do you think your freedom impacts her? Will you move out once the papers are signed, or is it an asset protection thing that will have you more relaxed?

Thank you for sharing your views and experience. Good advice and honest on top of that. The dating around thing has me worried. Not for her, I wish she finds someone she likes and who can reignite her Libido. I am worried about other dudes around my children, though. This kind of abuse happens very frequently in my part of the world, and she is a rather bad judge of character. How are you with her now?

Do you have kids? Between us, at least from my side, there is really no hate. If she and I were without kids, this is the route I would go for ASAP. But potentially not seeing the kids every day is really what leaves me stranded.

He sounds like he wants you but his trust is maybe still developing. Like you said, the good chemistry between you two was there, then you raised an issue and he pulled back. Maybe because of his own thoughts of getting hurt again, but also maybe because he does not want to burden you against your will. My take, he is respectful, if you like him, tell him how you will never be unfaithful and are open to talking about your feelings more. The "no secrets about us, between us" is what most of my fr…

You are integrating, and that is a good thing friend. after childhood, I find "naivety" to be the last leftover of that time for growing up. You will only lose it by betrayal by others and reflecting on it then. Finding out that others won't treat you fairly just because you treated them so hurts some more than others. I think you have done well for yourself, at least from how it reads. I wish you well!

If whatsapp, there may be a section of "barred messages" but i don't know what the name for that feature would be in english. You find it if you open the whatsapp screen but then drag down even if you think you are on top. It has a pass Code, usually, so be aware.

Do you know anybody with a similar phone and bumper? I know of people who got caught on accident because someone else just "happened" to take the wrong phone when they had to leave from a visit. Might not be easy to pull off but maybe that is worth a shot.

I agree in your case OP, I did not mean to be insensible. Personally, if the cheating came first it is the breaking of trust, the rage and disappointment. I was lucky that my wife never cheated when I still cared for her. For us, it is now just... entropy. With no feelings one way or the other, it feels like beeing roommates. I hope I could clarify where I am coming from. I did not mean to cause you grief. I wish you well

Certainly. Abandonment issues are just a way to overcome past Trauma. I read that people tend to come with abusive and manipulative behaviour as a bundle package as a coping strategy. She may on the other hand not take you serious as some narcissists sometimes think you, too, won't be able to live without them. I can only encourage you to think about wether you alone might be a better option for that child's future or if she really is such a great influence on a growing person. She has unresolve…

Just by your few sentences, I think you have a good therapist, and certainly you yourself the ability to reflect and describe your situation. The whole jerking off into a cup thing sounds just so wrong and emasculating to me. I know this is part of the process, but having someone do it basically against their will is really far out there. Personally, I have no good advice to offer you like some other comments already have. I am 38 with three kids. Voluntarily. It only gets more difficult, in my …

My friend, this is wild and a little above your standard reddit advice stories. I hope you are holding up OK. I think she feels her time running out, i assume. I wonder why was she so late to consider to do the artificial route. Why not sooner if she really wanted children? I think she wanted a safe partner that she found with you. I am -of course- only assuming, that she thinks you won't leave. How about asking her to preserve some eggs and freeze them as a compromise? I mean, both other altern…

I am staying for now. That being said, I don't know if I would not try and instead of leaving stay in the same house but be separated and try be friends. Scheduling for dates and so on can be an issue, yes, but that is where I think the beeing an adult part comes in. My wife dead bedroomed me 3 years ago, and I went through anger, depression, grief, and negotiation at an ok pace. Now, she is like a relative without anything else. I would not care if she met someone else outside the house for int…

You are more than welcome! Please, be smart about it, go on some form of work related week long trip before you break it to her (so she can't say anything about you beating her before) be then in company of another woman as a witness when you do, remove your stuff with the witness and maybe talk to a lawyer about the abuse concerns and what to do in your legal zone.
