I want to target the Supreme Court, and that typically requires hitting with the same sort of strategy from multiple states. And Wyoming is beautiful. Back in Feb this year I couldn't take it anymore, so I just started driving one day. Drove around the country for 3 weeks just to clear my head. Wyoming was one of my favorite places.

Hey — Just read “So You Drown Him.” It’s one of the most raw and accurate indictments I’ve seen. I’m in Massachusetts — our stories are different in the details, but structurally, they’re chillingly similar. I’m working on a federal lawsuit to challenge what state actors did — suing for $1, just to get it on the record. If you’re open to talking, even just to compare scars and strategy, I’d really value that. You’re not alone. What you wrote matters. —Dan

What you're describing is a textbook case of the fundamental attribution error. That’s when people assume someone’s behavior reflects who they are, not the situation they’re trapped in. It’s one of the most damaging distortions in how society treats men. If a guy breaks down, he’s "unstable." If he pushes back, he’s "toxic." No one stops to ask what system or injustice he’s reacting to. Sociologists also call this dispositional bias. It’s how institutions shift blame. Instead of fixing broken sy…

Can you please tell us the University? And can you also post a letter from your Institutional Review Board (IRB) signing off on your study? I would be happy to speak.

Glad this is resonating. I’m hearing from parents who saw the same shift. If your kid ever fought back against nonsense rules, I’d love to hear it.

All the parents saw the irony. The staff seemed to miss it.

At the elementary school in this story, every teacher, counselor, and leader was female. 100%

Nope. My name is Dan Sturtevant. Here is my LinkedIn. https://www.linkedin.com/in/dansturtevant/ Note that I grew up in Northern Virginia. Note that I live in Newton Massachusetts now - where the bubble wrapping school is. I use AI to edit. The story is completely real. Happened 5 years ago.

The real scam is that an institution can get away with wielding power while having no definition at all for their key KPI. Modern institutions have metrics - not things they call 'Principles,' and yet have no definition for. It makes it so they can do anything at all - under the guise of care - the very definition of Orwellian.

Hey - FYI - I just posted a second document on how to reform US Law. See the new POST description. I'd love to hear how it could be applied in your country

What country are you in? I ask because my examples are about the US, but I constructed a philosophical argument grounded in Enlightenment Liberal thought (John Locke), modern theories of Justice (Rawls), etc. And I think it easily translates in any liberal democratic country. I also have a companion piece aimed directly at courts and legislators focused on legal reform. Since you lawyer (and I am not) - I would love your thoughts. Could this be a new coherent legal doctrine to replace the mess w…

Thank you. And you're right. Asking a child to decide between parents is a Sophie's Choice. It's not freeing for them. Assuming 2 fit parents, the child's actual right is to two healthy relationships that will be with them for life. Giving them a choice between 2 fit parents - when they know they're on the record? That actually destroys them psychologically and destroys their future.

Yes it's a huge industry that makes a lot of money by never solving a problem or healing your family or your kids.

The reality is: you truly and deeply care about your child’s best interest. The family law system does not — not at all. I’m not being cynical. I’ll prove it. The phrase “best interest of the child” has been used in U.S. family courts for over 50 years, but the system has never formally defined it. There’s no operational standard. No measurable benchmark. No consistent legal definition that anyone can test, challenge, or hold the system to. Now think about other institutions. Criminal justice ha…

You’re not crazy — you’re being recast. This happens a lot in modern divorce. Out of nowhere, you’re suddenly “coercive” or “controlling,” even though none of that was said during the marriage. That’s because family court runs on narratives, not evidence. When a woman says she’s afraid, the system rewards her — with custody, sympathy, and institutional power. It’s called performative fragility: emotional claims become legal weapons, even without proof. Then others — friends, therapists, even cou…

I worried about this too. The reality is that there is a large pool of women who also recently got divorced. 60% might believe they need to jump into another long term 'he is the one' monogamous relationship. But if you've just split up - it's really not the time. 40% are out looking to find themselves. They will have children. You're not their first priority, and you shouldn't be. But when they have adult time, they'll be eager to use it. And a lot of women who just got divorced - have been in …
