Bingo. One of the female characters was the devil incarnate and more worthy of the title. It was just so incredibly unnecessary.

I was listening to a podcast this morning that is central to one of my favorite television series. Once a week, they pick an episode and dive deep. The episode the picked this week had a plethora of different characters—each horrific in their own way—discussed and one in particular they kept referring to as “the douche.” I’m only about 15-minutes in and they’ve already referred to the character this way four times. Not true. I can only speak from my experience, but I have many straight male friends who love and support me regardless of my sexuality. I implicitly trust several who have come to my aid and my defense - Not out of obligation or pretense, but because we love each other like brothers.

As a member of the LGBTQ community, I can attest to the community itself being as equally toxic as it is supportive. I genuinely appreciate and love a good ally. You’ve not explained how it is you’ve tried to be supportive, so I can’t really know what you’ve “done wrong.” Can you offer some examples?
