The post is about how a girl he knows interpreted compliment he said to her as inappropriate, making her uncomfortable. Then he questions the legitimacy of her being uncomfortable which upset her further. There is nothing in the post implies that she thinks he’s ugly. If someone says their uncomfortable with what you said, attacking their legitimacy of feeling uncomfortable isn’t going to help.
