Me: Excuse me, how in gods name does it take you 1 1/2 hours to do a load of laundry? All my friends and colleagues who’ve had it were just fine. One of my friends still forgets words 6 months later. In my extended network (friends-of-friends or relatives-of-coworkers) two people died. Both were under 50. Neither were 'sickly' or obese or anything other than 'seemingly normally healthy'.

Yep. There was a line for the gender-neutral bathroom at a restaurant I visited on Saturday. There was no line for the women's room. It was a single-occupancy restroom (no stall, the door went immediately in to a single room with a toilet and a sink...). Fuck it, I don't care.

I see this at many restaurants in the Orange County area. There is a newish California law that says any single-occupancy restroom that was previously 'gendered' now must be 'gender neutral'. If the restroom has multiple stalls then it is allowed to stay a gender-specific one. You're stuck on the "y'all is and has to be a contraction for 'you all'" but it is not. That is certainly the origin of the contraction, but the contraction is now a 'word' on its own with a modified meaning compared to what the original "expanded form of the contraction" meant. Absolutely right that there is nothing wrong with liking either the high or low level stuff. But when discussing 'intro' classes, the point is to see if people like 'anything' about it and get them interested/excited. The number of people who will become excited and decide to move forward learning more advanced concepts is going to be higher if you start with something fun/easy/rapid rather than something that immediately smacks them in the face as tedious, slow, and unrewarding.
