I think they are entirely distinct. Authoritarianism is a matter of freedom. Feminism is a pro-women's rights movement. Are there some who believe in both? I think that attitude is so silly. The reason we require burden of proof is because it's logically and intellectually sound to get evidence before assuming a hypothesis is true. Like sure, you can believe whatever you want however you want. That doesn't make your logic sound though. People just go with their gut instinct a lot of times.

You mean like Lyndsey Fifield/Susan Collins and Dr. Christine Blasey Ford? Fifield/Collins supported Kavanaugh's promotion to the Supreme Court in their work with the IWF and Ladies for Kavanaugh, essentially organizing to dismiss Ford's claims of sexual assault in the 80s by Brett Kavanaugh. This was an early #MeToo movement case. Now you've got fauxgressives backing the people who organized to dismiss her claims. Funny that. And Ford testified to Congress, under oath.

These are cherrypicked examples lol. You can always find crazy in any group. What we should criticize is the CORE IDEOLOGY and the nebulous mass that follows it, not cherrypick whatever individuals prove our arguments. You can do the same for advocating for men's rights. They don't even clarify how the messages were "verified" was it screenshots? Did they view a device? In court they would pull telecom records or records from the service provider. People are legitimately so fucking dumb and believe whatever the headlines say. And this idea that everyone who supports Platner is some Nazi is hogwash when he overwhelmingly won the primaries. Are that many Maine Democrats "Nazis?" Doubt it.

Good point. I don't think everyone who uses the term is necessarily sexist. But sexists certainly do use it. IMO it's better to just be clear with your words instead of utilizing bullshit phrases and generalizations.

I don't really like that phrase either. Trust must be earned. Like what do you do when two parties say opposite things? Who do you trust? How can you make that kind of determination without the necessary facts? What is the basis of the trust here? What has been done to earn it when nothing has been verified?
